Robert W. Paulus, age 91, of Kissimmee, FL formerly of Suffield, OH passed away Friday, January 9, 2009 after a brief illness. Born in Randolph, OH on April 14, 1917, to the late Frank and Mary (Rothermel) Paulus. He was preceded in death by his wife, Corine (Mudd) Paulus. Survivors include his nine children, Marian (Canton, OH), Robin Wassmuth (Tolland, CT), David (Mt. Dora, FL), Chuck (Jonesboro, GA), Mike (Apopka, FL), Tom (Stow, OH), Ken (Orlando, FL), Bernie (Kissimmee, FL), Bill (Suffield, OH). Grandchildren include, Suzanne Paulus, Michelle Sullivan, Chris Paulus, Matt Paulus, Ben Paulus, Jill Reitz, Teresa Steinlechner, Ralph Paulus, Tony Paulus, Laura Fetters, Tammy Svenson, Dan Paulus, Bob Paulus, Brandee Paulus, Leah Wassmuth & Brian Wassmuth, and 15 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother, Bernard E. Paulus of Akron, OH. Visiting hours will be held on Tuesday, January 13th, from 4-6 PM at Dobbs Funeral Home, 430 N. Kirkman Road, Orlando, FL 32811. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday, January 14th at 11:30 AM at Holy Redeemer Church in Kissimmee, FL with a visitation hour from 10:30-11:30 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Bambi Marini, C/O Sun Trust Bank, 4525 County Road 48, Okahumpka, FL 34762, for all her years of loving care to David Paulus.

Brantley Pate Slaughter
Brantley Pate Slaughter, age 78 of Orlando passed away on Tuesday, January 6, 2009. He was born to Brantley and Nina (Pitts) Slaughter in Orlando. He served in the United States Army and also set up electronic equipment in Washington, DC. He was employed as an engineer in the early years at WDBO Radio/TV which is now CBS Channel Six. After his employ with WDBO, he operated two community newspapers. He was active in the community as the voice to Orange County Government and County Schools. Although Orlo Vista has no official mayor, he was fondly referred to as the “Mayor” of Orlo Vista. He was also liaison for the Mayor of the City of Apopka. For several years he and his wife Wauneeta distributed food from Publix to distribute to the Russell Home, Edgewood Boys Ranch and numerous church organizations. To a great number of seniors in the Orlo Visita community, the food meant the difference between eating and not eating. He was actively involved in starting the Rotary Club in Celebration. Every Saturday he was in Kissimmee where he and his wife would be helping give ice cream desserts with “Give Kids The World” until his health took a turn. Brantley is survived by his wife, Wauneeta (Lay) Slaughter of Orlando; son, David Slaughter of Orlando, daughters, Sue Slaughter of Orlando, Colleen Moore of Kentucky; son, Mike Slaughter of Canada, daughter, April Emigh of Alabama; 9 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. The family will be receiving friends at Dobbs Funeral Home on Monday, January 12, 2009 from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at 4:00 p.m. during the visitation.

Theresa E. Kieffer
Theresa E. Kieffer, 97, of Orlando, passed away on Tuesday, January 6th, 2009. Theresa was born in Gibson County IN, the daughter of the late Fred and Wilomena (Patry) Hertling. She moved to Orlando in 1945. She was employed as a seamstress for a department store and was a member of St. James Catholic Church Orlando. She was also a member of AARP and the Mark Street Seniors. She is predeceased by her daughter, Patricia Jean Ford (1970). Theresa leaves to cherish her memory, daughter, Elizabeth Joan Kelly of Orlando, FL; son, Donald Paul Kieffer of Yadkinville, NC; brother, Valentine Hertling of Princeton, IN. 8 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. The family will be receiving friends at Dobbs Funeral Home on Friday, January 9, 2008 from 8:30 - 9:30 AM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Andrew Catholic Church, Orlando, FL, with Father Kurber officiating at 10:00 AM. Interment will be at Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
Charles Sisinni
Charles Sisinni, age 90, of Orlando passed away Saturday, January 3, 2009. He was born in Brooklyn, NY, but moved to Orlando in 1944. A devoted husband, father and passionate fisherman, preceded in death by his daughter, Diana Mitchell. He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Renee; son Charles Sisinni (Jo Ann) of Orlando; daughters, Jeanie Fitchen (Ned) of Cocoa, FL and Cynthia Moon (Don) of Longwood; sister Camella Composto of Brooklyn, NY; 9 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at Dobbs Funeral Home on Saturday, January 10, 2009 at 3:30 PM.
