Raianne Hope Permaul

Amy and I have been together for a long time. Ever since the beginning, we have been husband and wife. Even though the love we have for one another was and is very strong, something has always been missing. Our circle was not complete. On March 25th, Amy told me I was going to be a dad and on that day, the circle began to close. As each day went on, the circle got closer and closer to being complete. A few weeks later, I went to one of Amy's doctors appointments. It was the day I would hear her heartbeat for the first time. As I sat in the exam room listening to the doctor putting the Doppler on her belly I didn't hear what I was expecting and I started to get worried. Then I remembered something that Jill told me; it would sound like a choo choo train. As I sat and listened, there it was. My little choo choo was chugging away. The circle got closer to being complete. During the next few weeks things changed, choo choo grew and developed, and we found out choo choo was going to be a girl. Her name would be Raianne Hope Permaul. People have said everything happens for a reason and God has a plan for everyone on this planet. Well, I think part of her plan was to bring two separate families together to make one. I guess her and God were in a hurry to get to work. She decided to come early. She was born on July 25th, four months early. I became a dad, Amy became a mom , our moms and dads became grandparents, and our brothers and sisters became aunts and uncles. For that short time that she was with us, our circle was completed. After she was gone from our world, I wondered why. Why give her to us just to take her back. I think Amy put it best when she told me that we had created something so perfect and pure that God needed her back. So I thank God for letting Amy and I create a perfect angel. Now our little angel of hope is up there watching over all of us. To all of our family and friends, never give up hope and don't let hope slip away because without hope, the circle would never have been completed.

Sarah Elizabeth Vallely

Sarah Elizabeth Vallely, age 25 of Orlando, passed away on July 28, 2009 at Winter Park Hospital. Sarah was born in Long Island, New York to Robert and Sharon (Green) Vallely. She and her family moved to Central Florida in 1987. Sarah was a free spirit who was a loving mother, daughter, sister and friend. Her very first job was the character Chip at Disney. She also portrayed Mickey Mouse. Sarah was employed as a day care teacher at Kindercare, as she had a special love for children. Her heart always went out to children who needed that extra ounce of attention. Her parents fondly remember how she would take her last dollar and buy the homeless a happy meal. Sarah also loved talking on the phone. There wasn’t a day that went by that her parents and friends didn’t hear from her. Sarah is survived by her parents Sharon and Robert Vallely of Orlando; fiancé, Patrick Harmon; son, Robert Vallely; daughter, Ashley Harmon; son, Sean Harmon; stepchildren, Laurelli Harmon, Jamie Ortiz, Patrick Harmon, Jr.; brother, Richard (Wendy); sister, Tabitha (Walker) Hall and brother, Timothy (Kim) Wood, all of Orlando. A memorial service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, August 1st, 2009 at Dobbs Funeral Home.

Luis Michael Gabriel

Luis Michael Gabriel, age 28 of Orlando, passed away peacefully on July 28, 2009. He was born February 3, 1981 in Bridgeport, Connecticut and relocated to Florida in 1991. He was employed by Behr Distribution Center in Orlando, Florida. Luis leaves to cherish his memory, his parents, Nilsa and David Dorbat of Orlando; his children, Evan Luis Gabriel, 3 years old and Arianna Gabriel, 4 months old, both of Orlando, Florida; brothers, Dave Lee Dorbat, Charlie Matthew Dorbat and David Dorbat Jr.; one sister, Jessica Luz Dorbat of Deltona, Florida; maternal grandmother, Maria Arroyo and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Luis loved being a D.J., skateboarding, fishing, playing his guitars, playing dominos, sketching and he totally enjoyed horror movies. He was a free spirit and was active and always on the go. He will be greatly missed by many. The family will be receiving friends from 6:00 – 8:00 PM on Monday, August 3, 2009 at Dobbs Funeral Home. The funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, August 4, 2009 at Faith Assembly of God, located at 2008 N. Goldenrod in Orlando with Pastor Phil Waisanen officiating. Interment will follow the funeral service at Greenwood Cemetery.

Margaret Tiffany Givens

Margaret Tiffany Givens passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Tuesday, July 14 following her battle with severe aplastic anemia. A loving daughter, sister, granddaughter, niece, cousin, friend and role model, Maggie will be missed by her family and the many friends whose lives she has touched through her journey in life. She will be remembered for her positive spirit, strength, determination, kind and generous heart, and her unmistakable bright, beautiful “Maggie” smile.An Orlando native, Maggie was born November 13, 1990. She recently graduated from Bishop Moore Catholic High School and had plans to pursue a degree in Exceptional Education. Maggie is survived by her mother Eileen O'Shea Givens, father John Givens, brother John Givens, Stepmom Anne Marie Givens, stepsister Annie Dodi, stepbrother Jordan Dodi, maternal grandmother Lillian O'Shea, paternal grandparents John and Janice Givens and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Gone far too soon, Maggie’s presence will greatly be missed. A visitation will be held Sunday, July 19 from 4-7pm followed by a funeral mass Monday, July 20 at 10am at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church 801 Hastings Avenue, Orlando, FL. Flowers may be sent to Dobbs Funeral Home, Orlando; alternatively donations may be made to St. Andrew Men's Club or Bishop Moore CHS for financial scholarships in Maggie's memory.

Balbina (Balo) V. Selman

Beloved wife of Laurie Selman, passed away on July 16, 2009 in Orlando, Florida in her 98th year. Step-mother to Peter (Jocelyn) from Las Vegas and Stephen (Louisa) from Miami. Aunt Balo will be lovingly missed by nieces Vera (Pat) Tranquada, Maureen (John) Teixeira and nephew Hilary (Nazli) Fernandes plus many great-nieces and nephews in Canada. She is pre-deceased by niece Glorida Pereira. She will also be sadly missed by many wonderful, longtime friends. Balo was born in Georgetown, British Guiana (now Guyana) and immigrated to New York City in 1946. She dedicated her life as a legal secretary from 1946 to 1978 when she retired as a secretary to a Supreme Court Judge of New York State. Balo & Laurie moved to San Juan, Puerto Rico in 1982 where she volunteered for many years in the gift shop of the Ashford Memorial Hospital. In 1990, they moved back to the United States to Orlando, Florida where she served as secretary treasurer of their local AARP Chapter for many years. She also was a volunteer at Leu Gardens for many years. After cremation a memorial service will be held at Dobbs Funeral Home, 430 North Kirkman Road, Orlando 32811 on Thursday, July 23, 2009 at 11:00 o’clock. Interment will follow immediately after the service at Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice.

Karen Ann Hartzell (Kubasko)

Karen Ann Hartzell (Kubasko) passed away to heaven on July 12, 2009. She was 31 days shy of her 51st birthday. She is preceded in death by her parents, James J. Kubasko and Joan Zimenska. She was born in Titusville, FL on August 12, 1958. She attended Saint Theresa’s Catholic School and graduated from Astronaut High School in 1976. She moved to Orlando in 1980 and was married in 1983. She was then blessed in 1984 with a beautiful child. Karen was a loving, nurturing mother and a devoted, loving wife. She loved a simple cheeseburger and fries and a cool evening of poker with friends. She loved NFL Football and the live theater, dancing, gambling in Vegas, all animals mostly cats, collecting antiques and reading a good book. She is survived by her husband Bill; daughter JoBeth; brother James Kubasko of Moosic Lake, PA.; brother-in-law Jerry Grybosh of Orlando, she is preceded in death by her best friend Beverly Grybosh; Sister-in-law Donna Balderas and mother-in-law Tommie Saucerman and her husband Jackie, 2 nephews and 5 nieces. A celebration of life is planned at the American Legion Hall, 2101 Lee Road, Orlando FL 32810 from 12 pm to 3 pm on Sunday, July 19th, 2009. “Dust off your best Hawaiian shirt and your most comfortable Bermuda shorts.
