Harold James Neil, Sr.


Harold James Neil, Sr. born in Detroit, Michigan August 24th, 1937 to William and Margret, passed away on Saturday, February 10, 2018 in Deltona, Florida, surrounded by loved ones.

He was quick witted with a generous spirit and jovial attitude. He is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Frances Marie Neil; six son’s and three daughters; Jim (Big Jim), Butch (Harold Jr.), Chuck, Jim, William, Shawn, Linda, Paula, Dawn; 34 grandkids; one brother Donald and many extended family and friends.

Enlisted in the Army in 1956 and obtained his GED while he was in the United States Army.  Reaching the rank of Specialist 3rd Class, in the 68th Company of the 4th Chemical Battalion, stationed in New York and served two of his six years of service in Germany.

Harold lived his life as an avid musician traveling with the Hal James V and the Parliaments, an avid baker taking after his father, a coach for many, many years of little league baseball in Romulus, Michigan,  a member of the Citizens on Patrol for Volusia County, FL, worked for the City of Deltona; and worked many years as security with in the mall in Seminole County, and a huge sports fan of all Detroit Teams.

His memories, guidance, understanding and willingness to give will be lived on by all that he has touched.
