JoAnn Allison


JoAnn Allison, 75, of Groveland, FL, passed away on Wednesday, January 9th, 2019 in Orlando, FL.

JoAnn, or JoJo as her loved ones called her, was born in Gadsden, AL on October 12, 1943.  She married her Junior High School sweetheart BJ Allison, September 3, 1962 and they were blessed with three beautiful daughters - Camille, Yvonne and Jennifer.  Being an only child, she always desired to be a part of a large family.  God abundantly fulfilled this longing with twelve grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. They were the center of her life.   

JoAnn worked as secretary for Central Florida Christian Academy and First Baptist Central Florida for over 30 years.  She had a passion for serving and ministering. 

JoAnn is preceded in death by her father, JP Tolleson, mother, Ruby Tolleson, and husband BJ Allison. 

She is survived by her three daughters, Camille Allison Moore (Alan), Yvonne Allison Bywater (Rick), Jennifer Allison Dyal (Jeff), grandchildren, Ryan Moore (Rebecca), Rachael Johns (Eric), Andrew Clarke, Jordan Clarke, Leah Dinnan (Christopher), Benjamin Moore, Daniel Moore, Cameron Bywater, Cooper Bywater, Emma Dyal, Sydney Dyal, and Olivia Dyal, great grandchildren, Dawson Johns, Payton Johns, Addison Johns, Ava Moore, Landon Johns, Stirling Moore, mother-in-law Louise Allison, brother and sister in Law Arthur and Debbie Allison, and three nephews Chad Allison, Derrick Allison, and Jared Allison.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that donations be given in memory of JoAnn Allison, to the Church at the Cross-building fund at 700 Good Homes Road, Ocoee, FL. or the Florida Baptist Children’s Home at 1015 Sikes Blvd, Lakeland, Florida 33815.

  1. I am sorry for your loss, please accept my sincere condolences. I hope the family will find some comfort and strength in Jesus promise of the earthly resurrection(Acts 24:15)and the renewed Paradise earth, where death will be no more and no family will mourn the death of a loved one.-Revelation 21:3,4;John 5:28,29;Luke 23:43. May GOD(Psalms 83:18)grant you peace and comfort now, during this grievous time.-Matthew 5:4.

I would like to send these words of consolation to those that loved this apostle Paul said what has been made possible by Jesus’ resurrection. “Since death is through a man,” said Paul, “resurrection of the dead is also through a man.” Because of the sin and imperfection passed on to us from Adam, we all die. However, by giving his perfect human life as a ransom, Jesus opened the way for mankind to be released from slavery to sin and death through the resurrection. Summing up the matter nicely, Paul wrote at Romans 6:23: “The wages sin pays is death, but the gift God gives is everlasting life by Christ Jesus our Lord.”
