Louvenia Barbara Shaw

Louvenia Barbara Shaw, age 82, was born in Umatilla, Florida the daughter of Bobby Holsey and Priscilla Brown.  She was an only child and was raised by her aunt Hattie Holsey in Umatilla, after the passing of her beloved mother at the age of 2.

Louvenia was the mother of seven children, Leonard Holsey, George Shaw Jr., Alvin Shaw, Timothy Shaw, Mary Shaw, Bernita Shaw and Sheila Henderson.  Even though early in her life she lost her three boys Alvin, Timothy and George Jr., and her daughters Mary and Bernita due to tragedy, unforeseen accidents and suffered many medical setbacks, she always held on to her faith in God and He showed himself mighty in her life.

Louvenia "Nanny" as we call her, loved to bake and would often make "goodies" for the family to enjoy.  She was a great cook and Thanksgiving was one of her favorite holidays.  She loved to gather the family and see all her children and grandchildren together in fellowship.

The Lord in His infinite wisdom deemed it timely to call our beloved Louvenia "Nanny" to her eternal resting place in a quiet and peaceful way on April 19, 2018.

Louvenia leaves to cherish her memory, son Leonard Holsey Sr.; daughter Sheila Henderson; grandchildren Byron Shaw, Nikita Holsey, Joseph Fudge Jr., Leon Holsey, Jr., Nashard Geather, Markice Shaw, Gloria Shaw, Timothy Holsey, Jasmine Powell, Amber Powell; great grandchildren Kiera Fudge, Byron Shaw Jr., Dolante Shaw, Dovante Shaw, Dessiah Holsey, Lauren Henderson, Teigan Holsey and other relatives and friends.

The family will be receiving friends on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at El Bethel Temple @ Orlando from 10:00 am until 11:00 am followed by the funeral service with Pastor Edward Thomas Sr., officiating.  Interment will follow the 11:00 am service at Washington Park Cemetery.

Louise C. Smith

Louise C. Smith, age 92, of Orlando, passed away Wednesday, April 18th, 2018 at Terra Vista Rehab & Health Center in Orlando.  She was born in Philadelphia, PA. and was employed as a hostess in the hospitality field.  Louise was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church.

Louise leaves to cherish her memory, grandson Jeremy Smith of Apopka.  The funeral mass will be held at St. Andrew Catholic Church on Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at 10:00 am. with Father Leo Hodges officiating.

William Duane "Billy" Scott


William Duane "Billy" Scott, age 53, of Orlando, passed away on Saturday, March 24, 2018.  A lifelong resident of Orlando he was the son of John Bogue Scott, Jr, and Bonnie Sue Hackworth Scott.   He graduated from Maynard Evans High School in Orlando (Class of 1982).  After high school he married his childhood sweetheart Cindy Huth, but they divorced some time after his accident.  

Billy worked for the Operating Engineers, and later at Fred's Crane Service.  It was while working there, that he fell and broke his back, which left him a paraplegic and having to use a wheelchair the rest of his life.    Billy was always a very good mechanic, and loved his Harley Davidson  Motorcycles, as well as his cars.  He would help anyone he could with fixing their cars or motorcycles.   His mechanical aptitude dates back to when he was in high school where he had a Camaro, and then he built his 4 wheel drive pick-up both were his pride and joy.  His first Harley he got was after he was in a wheelchair, it came home and was a true basket case, as that is how he  brought it home.  He built it to where he could hand crank the motor and then proceeded with help of his dad to engineer the shifter to be able to ride it.  He won several awards for his bikes over the years.



Billy was preceded in death by both of his parents, a nephew Andrew Lee Scott, and step-father James Edward King.   Billy leaves to cherish his memory, brother Michael Scott (Lynn Waters-Scott) of Liberty, IL of Liberty, IL, Brother John B. Scott, III (Sandy Scott)  of West Branch, MI, a step-mother Debra Scott of Orlando, FL, and a nephew Jonathan Scott of Liberty, IL. , along with other relatives and friends.

Mildred Eleanor Kasper

Mildred Eleanor Kasper, age 89, of Gainesville, passed away on Tuesday, April 10, 2017.  She was born in Orlando, the daughter of Albert and Lilly (Durrenberger) Kasper and was employed as a medical transcriptionist.  

Mildred leaves to cherish her memory, nephews Gary Kasper of Summerfield, Russell Kasper of Sorrento; sister-in-law Ann Kasper of Orlando; great niece and nephews Cortney Gallo of Chicago, W. Alan Kasper of Huntsville, and Christopher C. Kasper of New York, NY.

The family  will be receiving friends from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm on Wednesday, April 18, 2018 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church located at 500 NE 16th Avenue in Gainesville.  The mass will follow the visitation at 12:00 pm.   Interment will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, April 19, 2018 at Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.

Joshua Derrick Brown

Joshua Derrick Brown, age 29, of Leesburg, FL passed away Friday, March 30th, 2018.  He was was born in Camden, NJ, the son of Lesa (Brown)  and Derrick McKenney.  Joshua was employed as a cook and was a member of First Baptist Church of Orlando.   

Joshua leaves to cherish his memory, parents Lesa Brown and Derrick McKenney both of Camden, NJ; sisters Derika Brown of Orlando, Maggie Brown of Leesburg, Iesha Carter of Mt. Clemens, MI;  brother Norman Carter of Camden, NJ; two grandmothers Josephine Kirkpatrick and Carol Bradnor; three nephews Shamar, Eric Jr. and Wali Jr; three nieces Eriasia, Alana, and Erial and dear friends; he also shared a special relationship with Chasity.

The family will be receiving friends at First Baptist Church of Orlando in the Marie Williams Chapel on Saturday, April 14, 2018 from 10:00 until 11:00 am.  The funeral service will follow visitation with Dr. David Uth and Pastor Jeff Thompson officiating.

        

Randolph Joel Willis

Randolph Joel Willis, age 56, of Orlando,  passed away Wednesday, March 7th, 2018.  He was born in Cleveland, Ohio, the son of the late Constance (Poppe)  and Carol  Willis. Randolph served and was employed in construction battalion in the US Navy.  

Randolph is predeceased by his brother Steven Willis (Dec. 2008) and leaves to cherish his memory wife Elizabeth Strouse and son Tiem Strouse, both of Orlando.

A memorial service with military honors will be held at Dobbs Funeral Home on Friday, April 13, 2018 at 10:00 am.

Arthur Harry Truesdell, Jr.

Arthur Harry Truesdell, Jr., age 53, of Orlando, passed away Saturday, April 7th,  2018.    He was born in Lynwood,  Los Angeles, CA, the son  of Arthur H. Truesdell, Sr., of Reno, NV and the late Glenda Gay (Bromley).  He was employed as a financial development director.

Arthur leaves to cherish his memory, wife Bobbie (Dugger) Truesdell of Orlando; son Theodore Truesdell of Portland, Or;   sister, Vicki (Mike) Smith, of Reno, NV; two brothers, Christopher (Kerri) Truesdell and  Patrick (Theresa) Truesdell, both of Oregon.  

The family will be receiving friends from 5:30 until 7:00 pm, followed by the funeral service at 7:00 pm at Dobbs Funeral Home with Pastor Thomas Hensley officiating on Thursday, April 12, 2018.

Liane Elizabeth VanAken, 50, of Orlando, passed away Tuesday, March 27th, 2018.   She was born in Hastings On the Hudson, NY, the daughter  of the late Diane (Daley)  and Vito Pisani.  

She was a homemaker and leaves to cherish her memory, son Ryan VanAken of Orlando.

Moti Hiranand Gidwani

Moti Hiranand Gidwani, age 80, of Orlando, passed away Thursday, March 29th, 2018 at VITAS Hospice in Winter Garden,  FL.  He was born in Hyderabad, British India, the son  of the late Mhini (Laxmi)  and Hiranand  Gidwani.  Moti was employed as a retail business owner.

Moti leaves to cherish his memory, two sons Raja Gidwani of Mirimar, FL, Jai Gidwani of Orlando; daughter-in-law Monali Gidwani also of Mirimar; two brothers, Gope Gidwani of Boston, Gulab Gidwani of New Jersey; and  2 grandchildren Sonia and Sahil Gidwan both of Mirimar.

The funeral service will be held 9:00 AM to 11:30 AM on Wednesday, April 4th, 2018 at Dobbs Funeral Home, followed by interment at Metro Crematory in Ocoee.
