Florence Peraza

Florence Peraza, age 91 of  Orlando, FL passed away Monday, September 22nd, 2014.   She was born in Guagama, Puerto Rico,  the daughter of the late Ana Marie (Corchado)  and Julio  Peraza.  She was employed as a  Physical Therapist and was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church.

 

Florence leaves to cherish her memory, two sons Elliott Rivera of  The Netherlands and Victor M. Rosario, of Atlanta, GA.   The memorial service will be held  at the Dobbs Funeral Home Chapel,  2:00 pm on Thursday, September 25th,  2014 with Pastor Steve Ware officiating.

Loetta Cavender Moore

Loetta Cavender Moore, age 82 of Orlando, FL passed away on September 23, 2014.  She was born in Charleston and lived there until 1981.  She was a member of Elmore Advent Christian Church.

 

She was preceded in death by her parents, Luther Wilson Cavender and Ava Jones Cavendor, brothers Rev. Raphael Cavender, Raymond Cavender & Holly Cavender.  Sisters Verneada Cavender, Dorsa Cavender, Vera Humphreys and Marietta Lilly. 

 

 She is survived by her devoted husband of 57 years, William E., daughters Beverly Hall (Russ) and Linda Woods (Chris), sisters Gerta Drake and Faye Bolander; grandchildren Amanda and Cathy Bumgardner, Caryn Hall and Zackary Pinner.  The family would like to give special thanks to Annie Shawver, who she loved like a daughter.

William George Browne, Jr.

Browne, William George, Jr., 83 of Orlando, went to be with the Lord on September 18, 2014. He was born April 17, 1931 to William and Eva (Robinson) Browne in Racine, Wisconsin.  As a young man he enlisted in the US Army and was posted in Germany where he met his wife who was a librarian at the post library.  He returned from service and graduated from Marquette University as an electrical engineer.  He moved to Orlando from Milwaukee WI to take a position as an Electrical Engineer with Martin Marietta in 1961.  He worked there until his retirement in 1994.  He was a devoted father, a member of St. Andrews Catholic Church, a former president of his children’s elementary school and middle school PTAs, and was active in Indian Princesses, Indian Guides, Boy Scouts, and was a Little League baseball coach.  Following his retirement he and his wife enjoyed RV travel.  Following his wife’s death he became a resident of Spring Hills Assisted Living Center at Hunters Creek and served as the President of the Resident’s council till his death.  He had a deep bass voice and throughout his life he enjoyed singing with his church choir and also performed in barbershop quartets.  He was an excellent mechanic and spent many Saturdays working on cars and was a car racing enthusiast.  He loved football and remained a loyal Green Bay Packer fan to the end of his days.
 

He was preceded in death by his wife Jean Marie Gable Browne and his brother James Browne, and sisters Suzanne Browne and Barbara Raguse.  He is survived by his sister Carol Ray of Las Vegas, and children Susan Darnell of Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, William “Sam” Browne III, of Virginia Beach, VA, Katie Rothardt of Plano, TX, and Liza Briegel of Orlando, three grandsons and four granddaughters.  He will be missed by many friends from Spring Hills and his old Martin buddies.  A funeral mass celebrating his life will be held at Holy Cross Catholic Church, 12600 Marsfield Ave., Orlando 32837 at 10:30 AM Tuesday, September 23^rd.  A reception will follow at the Spring Hills Assisted Living Center activity room, 3800 Town Center Blvd.  He was a longtime supporter of the American Diabetes Association.

Chester Byron Butler

Chester Byron Butler, age 82 of  Orlando, passed away  Saturday, September 13th,  2014 at VITAS Hospice at Quality Care, Winter Garden.   A lifelong Floridian, Byron was born in Orlo Vista, FL  the son of the late Georgia  and Edward Butler.  He proudly served his country in the Korean War (1950 - 1954), was a volunteer fireman in the 60's driving the water truck.  He was employed as a paper sales representative.  Byron has been a member of Lake Hill Baptist Church since childhood.  He was a member of the choir and a Deacon for many years.  His favorite hobbies were fishing, camping and he loved to travel.  He grew a vegetable garden which he shared with neighbors and friends. 

 

He is preceded in death by his parents and sister Jonelda Sawyer (Jack).  Byron leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife Lila Mae (Donahue) Butler;  twin daughters Pam Sheldon (Joe), Paula Campion (Scott); twin daughter Belinda Dowling (Earl) and son Bryan Butler (deceased) (Teresa);  brother George Butler (Wanda); grandchildren Dylan Campion, Joey Sheldon, Brandyn Butler, Brandon Dowling, Jennifer Sheldon and great grandchildren Ayden and Collin Campion.

 

The family will be receiving friends from 10:00 until 11:00 am Lake Hill Baptist Church on Saturday, September 20, 2014.  The funeral service will follow visitation at 11:00 am with Rev. Jerry Forrest officiating.  Interment will be held at Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.

Juanita Jennifer Jonas

Juanita Jennifer Jonas, age 66, of Orlando, Florida, passed away Monday, September 1st, 2014.   She was born in Antigua, West Indies, the daughter of Ernest and Jestina (Nicholas) Jonas.  Juanita was a homemaker and was a member of Mt. Olive African Methodist Episcopal Church.  She professed her love for the Lord until the moment He called her home.  She had a way of quickly capturing the hearts of people she came in contact with and she loved to cook.

 Her kind heart will be greatly missed by those whose lives she touched: She leaves to cherish her memories son Eustace Philip of Kissimmee, son Arthur Stapleton of Orlando; daughter Janelle Tyson of Tallahassee; sister Felomin Thomas of Tampa; and 5 grandchildren and the many friends from her church family.

 

The family will be receiving friends at Mount Olive Methodist Episcopal Church at 10:00 am followed by the funeral service at 11:00 am on Monday, September 8, 2014 with Rev. Dr. Mark E. Crutcher, Pastor, officiating.

Daniel Robert Berryman, Sr.

Daniel Robert Berryman  Sr.,  age 90, of Zellwood, FL passed away Wednesday, September 3rd, 2014 at his residence.  Daniel was born in Edwardsport, IN, the son of the late Della (Hetzel)  and George Raymond Berryman.  He served in the United States Navy and was employed as an industrial sheet metal worker.

 

Daniel is preceded in death by his son Daniel Jr. (2012) and leaves to cherish his memory wife Nellie  (Garlen) Berryman; daughter Nicki Jewel Vogel of Troy Ohio;  two sons Donald Mark Berryman of Minneapolis MN, Kristoffer Robert Berryman of Orlando; sister, Rosemary Lewis of Ypsilanty MI; 9 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

 

Interment will be held at Lindsley Cemetery in Allegan, MI on Thursday, September 11, 2014.  A memorial service will be held at Tabernacle Baptist Church in Orlando at a later date.

Deonarine Ramrup

Deonarine Ramrup, age 67, passed away Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at Osceola Regional Medical Center in Kissimmee, FL.  Deonarine was born in Lot Jalousie Estate, West Coast Demerara, Guyana the son of Ramrup and Sumintra Beharry.  He was employed as a supervisor for the Ministry of Housing in Guyana.

 

Deonarine leaves to cherish his memory wife Sita Ramrup (Catlyn) of Kissimmee; son Dhanraj D. Ramrup and many other sorrowing relatives and friends.  The family will be receiving friends at Dobbs Funeral Home from 5:00 until 9:00 pm on Saturday, September 6, 2014 and from 9:00 until 11:30 am on Sunday, September 7, 2014.    Interment will be at Westside Crematory in Winter Garden on Sunday following the 11:30 service.

 

 

Peter Kamaka Camacho, Jr.

Peter  Kamaka Camacho Jr., age 74, of Apopka, FL passed away Saturday, August 29th, 2014 at Florida Hospital Orlando.  Peter was born in Honolulu, Hawaii the  son of Margaret (Spreen)  and Peter K. Camacho, Sr.  He was employed as a sign installer for Orange County Public Works. 

 

Peter leaves to cherish his memory wife Nora  (Ryun) Camacho  of Apopka; three daughters Gina Place of Texas, Sarah Camacho-Rojas of Greenville SC, Amanda Camacho of Oviedo;  two sons Peter (Kamaka) Camacho, III of Pennsylvania, Micah Camacho of Apopka; two sisters Elaine Lewis of Utah,  Barbara Camacho of Wyoming; brother Benny Alvarez of California; nieces Sherrie & Elaine; 8 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

Jason Rogers

Jason Rogers age 34, of  Orlando, passed away Monday, September 1st, 2014.   Jason was born in Marietta, Georgia, the son of Patricia Brown of Orlando and Ken Rogers of Atlanta. 

 

Jason leaves to cherish his memory along with his parents, daughter Julie Rogers of Orlando;   sister Emilie Rogers of Mettarie.  LA; brother, Dean Rogers of Mt. Pleasant, SC; half sister Rachel Melton, of Pensacola;  three half brothers Mark Rogers of Pensacola, Dawson Rogers and Lee Rogers both of Atlanta.

Bernita Pricilla Shaw Daniels

Bernita Shaw, age 52  of Orlando, passed away on Thursday, August 28, 2014 at Hospice of the Comforter in Altamonte Springs, Florida.  A lifelong Floridian she was born in Umatilla, Florida the daughter of Louvenia (Brown) Shaw and was a homemaker.  Bernita leaves to cherish her memory, mother Louvenia Shaw of Orlando;  sons Byron, Joseph and Marquis; brother Leon; sister Sheila; 4 grandchildren  and many sorrowing relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, September 6th, 2014 at Dobbs Funeral Home.  Interment will follow at Washington Park Cemetery.

Armond Black

Armond Black, age 52 of Orlando, passed away Friday night, August 29, 2014 at his home with family at his bedside.  He was born in Chicago, Illinois the son of Sheila Black and Melvin Bradley.  He was employed as a security guard.

 

Armond is preceded in death by his mother and best friend Sheila Bradley.  His memory is celebrated by his father Melvin Bradley, his favorite aunt Elaine M clurkin and her husband Frank.  Two younger brothers, Donnell Winston, and Marcelus Bradley (LaKisha).  His best friend in the form of a pet "SCRAPPY".   His couins with whom he grew up with Jonathan, Evette, and Andre Daniels. Younger cousins Tameka, Carmelita, Lynnette, Danella, Tonja, Dominick (Joyce), Harold, and Kenny.  As well as an array of nieces and nephews, including his closest nephew Parys, whom he liked to call "His son".

 

The family will be receiving friends at Dobbs Funeral Home on Friday, September 12, 2014 at 10:00 am.  The funeral service will follow visitation at 11:00 am, and interment will be at Greenwood Cemetery in Orlando.

David Lee Balser

David Lee Balser,  age 74, of  Apopka, FL passed away Thursday, August 21st, 2014 at Florida Hospital Apopka.   David was born in Elwood, IN., the son of Genevieve (Manghelli)  and Billie R. Balser and moved to Central Florida from Elwwod, IN in 1959.   He lived with his son Tony and daughter Michelle and was employed and retired from Continental Can Corp in Winter Garden, Florida.  He was also a member of the National Rifle Association (NRA).

 

David is preceded in death by wife Shelby Bruce Balser; grandchildren Mandi Renee Balser and Anthony Lee Balser.  He leaves to cherish his memory  sons David Bruce and James Anthony Balser; daughter Tonya Michelle Swadley; brothers William Robert and John Edward Balser; grandchildren Jennifer Christine Swadley, John David Balser, Shawn Nicholas Swadley, Valerie Michelle Balser, Shelby Annmarie Swadley, Ethan Michael Balser.

Shirley Ann Enwright

Shirley Ann Enwright, age 67, of  Orlando,  passed away Sunday, August 10th, 2014 at her residence.  Shirley was born in Clinton, IA the daughter of Betty (Mayer) Hickenbottom of Clinton, IA and the late Darrell Hickenbottom.  Shirley married Gerald A. Enwright on June 1,2 1965.   She was a devoted Mother, crafter, and homemaker.  She also worked for several Orange County schools in a variety of office positions for more than 20 years,  member of St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church  in Apopka and also a member of Beta Sigma Phi. 

 

Shirley is  leaves to cherish her memory husband Gerald (Jerry) Enwright of Orlando; two daughters, Susan Enwright Hicks of Ashville, NC, Sandra Enwright of Washington, DC; son Grant Enwright of Pembroke Pines, FL;  five sisters, Susan Burns of Cedar Rapids, IA, Sandra Lara of Orlando, Sally Smith of Clinton, IA,  Sheila McMininy of Clinton, IA,  Sherri Sorem of Camanche, IA; two grandchildren, Emma Enwright of Pembroke and Linus Hicks of Ashville.

 

The family will be receiving friends at Dobbs Funeral Home on Thursday, August 14, 2014 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Apopka, FL at 11:00 am on Friday, August 15th,  with Father Paul officiating.

Denise Bates Enos

Denise Bates Enos, 52, passed away August 11th.  A woman of incredible intelligence and compassion, she will be missed deeply by all who knew her.  Denise was born in 1961 in Aurora, CO, the daughter of Dr. John Bates and Dixie Lee Bates.  As Dr. Bates was in the Air Force, Denise traveled a good bit in her earlier years with the family settling in Ft. Walton Beach when Dr. Bates was transferred to Eglin Air Force Base.  She graduated from Choctawhatchee High School in 1979, and Florida State University in 1982, with both her Bachelors and Masters Degrees in English.  A freelance writer, her work has been published in numerous magazines and newspapers.  She had also just finished her first novel, and was in the process of looking for a publisher.  Her excellent editing services were often in demand by several publications.

 

Denise is survived by her children, John Marshall Katheder and Charlotte Katheder, as well as her husband Jeff, her father Dr. Bates, and her brother John Bates.

 

Denise was a member of Holy Family Parish, and a woman of deep Catholic Faith.  Therefore, in lieu of flowers, donations should be made to the Orlando branch of the St. Martin de Porres Catholic Charity.  A memorial mass will be scheduled at a later time. 

Rachel Alty

Rachel Alty, age 1 month and 4 days, passed away on Sunday, August 10, 2014 at Winnie Palmer Hospital.  Rachel was born in Orlando, Florida the daughter of Nahomie Pierre and Paterson Alty who will cherish her memory.

The funeral service will be held at Dobbs Funeral Home on Friday, August 15, 2014 at 1:00 pm.  Interment will follow the service at Greenwood Cemetery.

Frances F. Sweatt Graham

Frances F. Sweatt Graham passed away on August 3rd, 2014, at her home in Ocklawaha, Florida.  She was 83 years old.  Frances had been struggling with the many complications which arise from Parkinson's Disease for the last 2-3 years. 

She was born Frances Myrtie Farrar on March 18th, 1931 in Rumford, Maine.  After she married, she moved from Maine and has been a Florida resident for the past 55 years.  She retired from AT&T.  She was actively involved with the Laureate Zeta Lambda Sorority for many years.  

 

She was the best mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, sister and friend that anyone could ever ask for.  Her life was devoted to her family and there was nothing she enjoyed more than spending time with them.  She will be sorely missed by all.

 

Frances was preceded in death by her mother Amy Lillian (Chayer) Farrar, father Mearl Frank Farrar, brother George Harlan Farrar and husband Vernon W. Graham.  She is survived by her four sisters, Pauline Buckingham, Marion Cooper, Pat Hunt (Jim), and Sharon Philbrook; children Frank Sweatt (Lesia), Mary F. Sweatt-Inbody, Carl K. Sweatt, J. Michael Sweatt (Sandra) and Amy I. Nelson (Layne); her grandchildren Natalie Sweatt, Andy Sweatt, Adam Inbody, Jared Inbody, James Greer, Brian Sweatt, April Sweatt Bamberger, Bradley Sweatt, Lauren Sweatt and Clifford Dye; as well as many great-grandchildren

 

The family will be receiving friends at St. Andrew Catholic Church on Friday, August 8, 2014 from 10:00 - 11:00 am followed by the mass at 11:00 am with Father Leo Hodges officiating.  Interment will be at Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.

Louann Ferrell

Louann Ferrell, age 81, of  Orlando passed away August 1, 2014. She was born in Bluefield, West Virginia, the daughter of Henry and Elizabeth (Davis-Trivett) Osborne. She moved from South Carolina to Central Florida in 1964.  Louann was employed as an abstractor for an attorney title company and was a member of True Freedom Fellowship Church. 

 

She is preceded in death by sister Margie Hart (2007) and brother Harold Osborne (1995) and  leaves to cherish her memory son Mickey Ferrell of Port St. John; daughter Leesa Durocher of Ormond Beach, daughter Sherrie Gaulin and son Robert Ferrell both of Orlando;  9 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren.

 

Visitation will be held at Dobbs Funeral Home on  August 9th, 20014  at 12:30p followed by the funeral service at 1:30p., with Rev. Rick Shearouse officiating.  Interment will be at Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. 

Charles Edward Hawthorne

Charles Edward Hawthorne, age 90 passed away August 1, 2014 from pulmonary complications following knee replacement surgery.
 

 A fourth generation descendant of homesteading West Orange pioneers, Charles was born on February 13, 1924 to Thomas Claude and Mary Lucy Hawthorne.  He also had a lifelong interest in politics and served as a member of several water management authorities.  Gator football game days were sacred and strangers were only "friends he hadn't formally met".

A 1943 graduate of Riverside Military Academy in Gainesville, GA., Charles immediately enlisted in the Army Air Corps and participated in 49 missions as a tail gunner on a B-25 over Italy and  Germany.  Shortly before he shipped out, he married his grade school sweetheart, Grace Brown, of Winter Garden.  At the conclusion of World War II, he and Grace moved to Gainesville where he completed a BS in Agriculture under the GI Bill, graduating in 1949.

Returning to West Orange he began operating a citrus management company and acquired properties with opportunities to grow citrus.  Before the freezes of 1983, 1985 and 1989 his company managed over 7,000 acres of citrus being harvested for juice and fresh fruit.  Still desiring to be involved with horticulture he embarked into ornamental plants starting CharleStan Landscaping Nursery in Winter Garden and on the family homestead.  He loved nurturing his plants and worked at the nursery until he was 88. 

He served on the board of Florida Citrus Mutual and had a call in radio show relating to citrus management.  In addition he was active in Lion's Club International and the Winter Garden Baptist Church. 
 

Retirement included traveling the US, Canada, Europe, Asia and Africa.  Charles and Grace celebrated 52 years of marriage before she passed away in 1997.  He subsequently met Alice Hoelzer of Deland Traverse City, Michigan on a Farm Bureau Tour of the Netherlands in 1998.  They  married in 2000 and moved to King's Ridge, an active adult community in Clermont.  This served as their base for exploring the globe.  Even with the constraints of Alzheimer's they were able to take a Road Scholar trip to Chincoteague Island in May and explore the art museums in St. Petersburg and Tampa in June. 

Charles was predeceased by his oldest child, Gretchen, in 1994.  His descendants include sons, Chuck (Louise) and Stan (Sherri) of Windermere, Florida, 6 Grandsons, 4 Granddaughters, 13 Great Grandsons, 5 Great Granddaughters and 3 babies expected later this year.  He was also predeceased by his older brother, James and his younger siblings, Betty (Shuman) and William.
 

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Mike Conley Hospice House of Cornerstone Hospice, the Alzheimer's Foundation, the Winter Garden Heritage Foundation, Oakland Nature Preserve or a charity of your choice.

Dolores Rios

Dolores Rios, age 86, of Orlando, passed away Friday, July 25th, 2014 at Metro West Nursing Home and Rehab.   She was born in Viques, Puerto Rico,  the daughter of the late Mara (Benitez)  and Tipo  Rios.  She was a member of both  St. James and St. Andrew Catholic Church and was employed as a stenographer for the State of New York. 

 

Dolores leaves to cherish her memory, son Victor  Agosto of Orlando; daughter Yvonne Agosto of New York, New York; 5 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.  The family will be receiving friends at Dobbs Funeral Home from 10:00 until 11:30 am on Saturday, August 2, 2014 followed by a Mass at 11:30 am with Father McCormick officiating.  Interment will be at Winter Garden Cemetery.
