Noël Maxwell Barnett

Noël Maxwell Barnett passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her loving husband and children on Saturday, the 25^th of February, 2017.  She transitioned into glory at the age of 68 and is with her Lord and Savior.  Noël fought valiantly against leukemia and her courage and spirituality were an inspiration to all.

Noël was predeceased by her parents, Muriel and Bud Maxwell, and her brother Fred Maxwell. 

She is survived by her adoring husband of 44 years, William B. Barnett; and her children, Pamela Barnett of Philadelphia, PA, Jennifer Seminara of Casselberry, FL, Rebecca Barnett of Atlanta, GA, Molly Barnett of Orlando, FL, Bradford Barnett of Orlando, FL; her 7 grandchildren; and her sister Sande Maxwell of Lorane, OR.

She was an active member of Grace Church Orlando.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to  "Grace Church Orlando" with a note in the memo section "Pastoral Care-Noel".

Oma Devi Persaud

Oma Devi Persaud, age 59, of Ocoee, FL passed away Monday, February 20, 2017 at Health Central Hospital in Ocoee.  Oma was born in Georgetown, Guyana, the daughter of the late Sheila (Singh) and Thakur  Persaud and was employed as a seamstress.

Oma leaves to cherish her memory, two sons Wayne Bacchus of Ocoee,  Gavin Lall of Orlando; five sisters, Kathleen Narine, Murth Geer, Etsy Salickram, Yvonne Sataur,  all of Guyana, Monica Algu, of Tampa; three brothers, Rohan Persaud, Rohit Persaud both of Guyana; Robby Persaud of Tampa and 4 grandchildren.

The family will be receiving friends from 6:00 until 9:00 pm on Thursday, February 23, 2017 with a traditional Hindu service from 8:00 until 11:00 am on Friday, February 24, 2017 at Dobbs Funeral Home with PT. Sri Krishna Maharaj (Priest) officiating.  Interment will follow at Metro Crematory in Ocoee.

Brijaram Nanda

Brijaram Nanda, age 85, of Saint Cloud, FL passed away Tuesday, February 7th,2017 at Plantation Bay Skilled Nursing Facility, St. Cloud. He was born in Crabwood Creek, Guyana, the son of Anant and Ramdularie  Nanda and was employed as an agricultural farmer.  

Brijaram  is predeceased by his brother and sister Jaipaul Nand (2010), Dywantie Ramoutar (2013), and leaves to cherish his memory wife Lachmin  (Ramjahan) Nanda of St. Cloud;  daughterLovelin Persaud of New York; four sons Lakhram Nanda of New York, Radesh Nanda of St. Cloud,  Vishnu Nandu of Guyana,  Karan Nanda of New York; two brothers, Baijay Anant, of St. Cloud, Satick Anant of Orlando; and 4 grandchildren. 

The family will be receiving friends at Dobbs Funeral Home on Friday, February 10, 2017 from 6:00 until 9:00 pm and Saturday, February 11, 2017 from 2:00 until 4:00 pm followed by interment at Metro Crematory in Ocoee with Pandit Anjanie Pedraza officiating.

Elaine Holysz

Elaine Holysz, 88 years old, of Minneola, Florida passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 1, 2017.  She was born on March 26, 1928 in Chicago, Il to Edward and Anna Grandowski.

Elaine was married for 60 years to Edwin Holysz until his passing in 2011.  She was a resident in the Orlando area since 1971 where she worked as a photo technician and a realtor.

Elaine’s memory will be cherished by her brother: Edward and his wife Virginia, sister: Ann and her husband Mick, children: Ann and her husband Mark, John and his wife Kendall, and Thomas, grandchildren: Steven, Neil, Kristin and Kyle, great grandchildren: Myles and Olivia, nieces: Anita, Teri, nephews: Gary and Carter with his wife Monica.  The family wishes to extend our thanks to all the support and care from Cornerstone Hospice and Health Central Park.

Nahomie Bien-Aime

Nahomie Bien-Aime, age 31 of Kissimmee, passed away on Thursday, January 26, 2017. She was born in Port Au-Prince Haiti, the daughter of Saintano and Viliame (Seide) Bien-Aime and was employed as a security officer.

Nahomie leaves to cherish her memory along with her parents, sons Joel and Jerrel both of Orlando; brothers Shadrack Bien-Aime of Orlando and Samuel Bien-Aime of Haiti.

Barbara Ann Fischer

Barbara Ann Fischer, age 83, of Orlando, passed away Friday, January 27, 2017 at Brookdale Dr. Phillips Assisted Living in Orlando.  She was born in Benton Harbor, MI, the daughter of Eugene and Christine Tomlinson and was employed as a receptionist in the school system.

Barbara is predeceased by brother Eugene Tomlinson, Jr. and sister Marge Bruder and leaves to cherish her memory, son Greg Fischer of Orlando;  three sisters, Mary Lancaster of Grand Rapids, MI,  Peg Bisbo of St. Joe, MI,  Nancy Gaskins of Stevensville, MI; grandchildren Josh and Jalie both of Orlando

David Jeffrey Moolchan

David Moolchan, age 74, of Orlando, passed away Saturday, January 21st, 2017 at Health Central, Ocoee.   He was born in San Fernando, Trinidad, and the son of the late Olga (Dennehy) Moolchan.  David was a retired master auto technician who enjoyed restoring antique vehicles in his spare time. He was a member of Annunciation Catholic Church.

David leaves behind a wife Doreen (Ali) Moolchan of Orlando; children; Camille Moolchan, of Lake Mary, Hayden Moolchan of Lake Mary, Andy Beharry of Lake Mary, Alicia Loren Brevetti of Lake Mary, and step children, Maria Sukhu of Oviedo and Nicholas Lutchman Singh of Trinidad; grandchildren and step grandchildren; and brother Rawle Moolchan of Port St. Lucie.  A friend to all and loved by everyone who met him.

Aura R. Nieves

Aura R. Nieves, age 69, of Orlando, passed away Saturday, January 14th, 2017 at her residence. She was born in Dolores, Nicaragua, the daughter of the late Mercedes (Urbina)  and Elidoro  Varga and was employed at a theme park. 

Aura leaves to cherish her memory, three daughters, Aura C Mejia,  Consuelo Mejia, Heydi Mejia all of Orlando;  son Bayardo J Mejia of Nicaragua; sister Luisa Urbina of Nicaragua; 13 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

William Raymond Rice

William Raymond Rice, age 82, of Orlando, passed away Monday, January 23rd, at Florida Hospital East.   He was born in Metz, West Virginia, the son of the late Hazel Arizona (Floyd)  and Lawrence Victor Rice.  William retired from the United Sates Air Force.  

He leaves to cherish his memory, wife Shirley (Brock) Rice of Orlando; daughter Jean Shagena of Longwood;  sister Freda Whitfield of Narcoosee; 2 grandchildren April Stokes and Nicholas Shagena both of Longwood; 2 great-grandchildren Harley Brianne and Kodie Ray Miller both of Longwood.

The family will be receiving friends on Thursday, January 26, 2017 from 5:00 until 7:30 pm at Dobbs Funeral Home.  The funeral service will be held on Friday, January 27, 2017 at 1:00 pm also at the funeral home with Rev. Laurence Baucom officiating.  Interment will follow at Ocoee Cemetery.

Pamela K. Singh

Pamela K. Singh, age 59, of Concord, North Carolina, passed away Sunday, January 22nd, 2017 at her sisters home in Orlando.  She was born in Georgetown, Guyana the daughter of Shivram and Rookmin (Ramnauth) Singh and was employed in banking.

Pamela leaves to cherish her memory, 5 sisters Gloria Persaud of Gotha, Jayantie Singh, Bhays Singh, Padma Singh and Selina Singh-Ally all of Orlando; 3 brothers P.N. Singh of North Carolina, Kamal Singh of Kissimmee, and Komal Singh of Minnesota.

Tradtional Hindu Services will be held from 6 until 9 pm on Wednesday, January 25, 2017 and Thursday, January 26, 2017 from 8:30 until 11:00 am, followed by interment at 12:00 pm at Metro Crematory in Ocoee.

Linda Barse May

Linda Barse May, age 71, passed away on Saturday, January 7, 2017.  She was born in Wellsville, New York the daughter of Lynn Allen and Olive Amadon and was a homemaker.

Linda leaves to cherish her memory, husband Walter May of Orlando; sons Jeffrey Barse of Aurora, CO, Christopher Barse and Tim May both of Orlando; daughters Jennifer Barse Ruth of Jacksonville, Diana May Melnyk of Orlando; brother Charles Allen of Avon, NY; sister Ruth of Corning, NY; and 6 grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, January 17th, 2017  at Dobbs Funeral Home.

Fernando Ramos

Fernando Ramos, age 58, of Orlando passed away Wednesday, January 11th, 2017 at Cornerstone Hospice at Orlando Health in Orlando.   He was born in Manhattan, NY the son of Cecilia (Muniz) and Victor M. Ramos Sr.  Fernando served in the U.S. Marines and was employed as a security officer for Homeland Security.  

He leaves to cherish his memory, mother Cecilia Muniz Ramos; wife Maria   (Velazquez) Ramos of Orlando; son Fernando Duprey Ramos of Orlando; brother Victor Ramos of Orlando; three sisters, Anna C Ramos of Pennsylvania, Sotera Ramos of Manhattan, NY and  Maria Ramos of  Tampa. 

The family will be receiving friends on Monday, January 16, 2017 at 9:30 am, followed by a 10:30 am Mass at St. Andrew Catholic Church with Father Leo Hodges officiating.

George William O'Meara

George William O’Meara, 79 years old, of Ocoee, Florida passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at Hospice of the Comforter Florida Hospital Connected Care in Altamonte Springs, Florida after a hard-fought, 16-month battle with leukemia.

George was born on October 6, 1937 to Thomas Thedford and Flora Hazel Smith O’Meara in Charleston, West Virginia. Soon after, his family moved to Orlando, Florida where George attended Howard Middle School and Edgewater High School. He went on to work full time at a dental company and later established his own business, Central Florida Dental Supply Company which he operated until two weeks up to his death, coordinating deliveries. George shared his hunting hobby with son, Todd and enjoyed weekends at hunting camps across Florida. He was also an avid gun collector and history buff. Along with his work and hobbies, it was spending time with his family that gave George the most joy.   

George will be fondly remembered by his wife: Jeanette, children: Todd and his wife Asa, Shannon and Sarah Jean, brother and sister-in law: Mike and Jean, and nieces and nephews. He is also grandfather to Mallory, Cornelia, Amanda, William and Eleanor. He will be greatly missed by both family and friends.

The family of George wishes to extend our sincere thanks to all the nurses, doctors and staff at Florida Hospital South, Florida Cancer Specialist and FHCI Radiation Oncology who provided care and support. Special thanks to Jean O’Meara who accompanied George on all of his chemotherapy, radiation and blood transfusions appointments. We are forever grateful.

Ivan McDonald Binns

Ivan McDonald Binns, age 88, passed away in Orlando on Friday, December 30, 2016.  He was born in Hanover, Jamaica the son of the late Enos and Elsie (Porteous) Binns.  Ivan moved to Central Florida from New Jersey in 1975.  He was employed as a commercial electrician and was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church.

Ivan leaves to cherish his memory, wife Wendolin (Johnson) Binns of Orlando; sons Nigel Binns of Las Angeles, Gladstone Binns of East Orange, NJ; sisters Geta Fletcher, Joy Smith both of Jamaica, Mavis Baptiste of Georgia; brother George Binns of England; grandchild Stephone Binns of East Orange, NJ.

Kevin Michael Condon

Kevin Michael Condon, age 51 of Ocoee, passed away on Wednesday, December 14, 2016.  He was born in Poughkeepsie, New York, the son of Peter J. Condon and Pam Boggs Bogardus.  Kevin was employed in construction.

Erick Acosta, age 9, of Orlando, F Lpassed away Wednesday, December 21st, 2016, at Florida Hospital Orlando.   Erick  was born in Orlando, the  son of Keivy (Castillo) and Heirbeto Acosta and was an student.

Harold "Hal" Campion

Harold “Hal” Campion, 90, died peacefully in his sleep, Friday, December 9, 2016 at Brookdale Assisted Living of Ocoee, Florida.  Born and raised in Campbell, Ohio, he was the son of Frank and Rose Campione, next to the youngest of eight children.

Harold served in the Army Air Corps, stationed at MacDill Air Force Base in Tampa, Florida,  where he met the love of his life, Alice Arias. They married in 1949 and, following his discharge from the service, he attended and graduated from the University of Florida, where he earned a BS degree majoring in Physics, Math, and German.  After teaching radar at Keesler Air Force Base in Gulfport, Mississippi for several years and working for the Crosley Division of Avco in Cincinnati, Ohio, for four years, he and Alice settled in Orlando, Florida in 1958 where they raised their three children. Harold was an aerospace engineer for Lockheed Martin for the bulk of his career; his pioneering work focused on introducing solid-state devices into the industry.  He retired in 1979, after more than 20 years of service.

Following retirement, Harold, a lifelong golfer, found his dream job as a starter and ranger at the Grand Cypress Golf Resort.  When he wasn’t on the golf course or watching golf on TV, he could be found volunteering at the Orlando Science Center, cycling, running, and spending time with friends and family. Harold was a devoted Florida Gator where he and Alice attended football games at his alma mater in Gainesville for more than 20 years.

Harold was a loving husband of 63 years to Alice who predeceased him in February, 2013; he was a wonderful father, an enthusiastic and playful grandpa, a loyal friend, an ice cream lover, and a terrific dancer.  He was a devout Catholic, with a quick wit and a great head of hair!

He will be joyfully remembered by his sisters Mary Mazias and Clara Casal, his brother-in-law John Texter, his children and their spouses Alan (Ellen), Barbara (Keith), and Neal (Peggy), grandchildren Lauren, Blair, Alison, and Mia, and his extended family that includes Yolanda and Dan Sparacino, Doralys Arias and many nieces and nephews.

Besides his loving parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, George Campion, and his sisters,

Alvira Campione, Victoria Frazinni-Petrella, Theresa Zetts and Vera Texter.  Mass will be celebrated at 9:30 am Tuesday, December 27, 2016 at St. Andrews Catholic Church, 801 N. Hastings Road, with Father Ron Mahon officiating. Burial, with military honors, will follow at Dr. Phillips Cemetery.

As an expression of sympathy, memorial contributions may be made to the Orlando Science Center.

Gerald Desmond Barrett

Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Gerald Desmond Barrett, passed away on Wednesday December 14, 2016 at 10:25 a.m. at Mike Conley Hospice House, Clermont Florida. Gerald was born on March 1, 1938 in Mt. Carey St. James, Jamaica West Indies to parents Agnes Wollery and Septimus Barrett.  His early education began at Anchovy Primary and Montego Bay Technical Institute

. 

He was very active in different ministries in his church at First Baptist in Kingston Jamaica. He met, fell in love and married Valrey Stephenson.  They were married for 47 years and have two daughters Shelley and Aileen and son Thurston, who predeceased him in 2001.

Gerald migrated to the US where he gained employment at the World Trade Center and the Temple Isaiah School while residing in New York. Soon after retiring in 2004, Gerald once again relocated to Ocoee, Florida where he resided until he went home to be with the Lord.

Gerald’s love for God was endless and when asked how he was doing, his response was always “God is so good to me”.  He enjoyed reading his Bible and doing his puzzles.  He loved his family and spoke very highly about them. Gerald was a gentle, sympathetic and kind person and was always willing to lend a helping hand to others.  He was a very reliable & meticulous worker and also expected the same from others.

In his later years, Gerald spent most of his days at his beloved center “Share the Care”.  A place where he could be himself and show his many dance moves.  He enjoyed playing dominoes, bingo and even playing the drums at their many socials.   

Gerald is survived by his wife Valrey; daughters Shelley and Aileen; granddaughter Kelsey; brothers Ernest and Anthony Johnson; sister Ruthlyn; nieces; nephew; sisters in law; brothers in law, relatives and friends.

Gerald will be missed and his memories will live on in the hearts of those he touched and influenced.

Roberto Arenas Orozco

Roberto Arenas Orozco, age 64, of Orlando, away Monday, December 12th, 2016 at his residence. Roberto was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, the son of the late Carmen Lydia (Orozco-Leon) and Francisco Arenas Corcino.  He served in the United States Army and was employed in security/law enforcement.

Retired Sgt. Major Howard C. Tucker

Retired Sgt. Major Howard C. Tucker, age 88, formerly of Williamstown, New Jersey, passed away on Thursday, December 1, 2016 in Orlando, Florida.  He was born in Wethersfield, Connecticut.  A career military serviceman, Retired Sgt. Major Howard C. Tucker served his country, his fellow veterans of all ages, and seniors throughout New Jersey with great honor and pride.

His amazing life will be forever memorialized in the lives of his beloved wife of 64 years, Ursula E Tucker, and his daughter, Nancy Anjolie Ashmore or Orlando, Florida, his cherished sister, Mildred Hodge,of Newington, Connecticut, his grandson, John Novak, of Taipei, Taiwan, and his granddaughter, Dominique Novak, of Orlando, Florida, as well as  his 4 great grandchildren.

Retired Sgt. Major Howard C. Tucker's distinguished military career of more than 20 years and endless advocacy efforts on behalf of thousands of veterans and seniors, demonstrates the true meaning of sacrifice and love for one's fellow man that have made this world a better place.  He worked tirelessly for both- retired and active/non-active veterans through many programs, including most recently, the Wounded Warriors in 2015.  Equally, he provided knowledge and assistance to seniors throughout  New Jersey.  He will be remembered by all whose lives he touched.

Visitation for Retired Sgt. Major Howard C. Tucker will be held on Friday, December 9, 2016 at 10:00 a.m., with the funeral service at Dobbs Funeral Home, 430 N. Kirkman Road, in Orlando, FL 32811 at 11:00 am.  Interment will be at 1:30 pm at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida with full military honors.
