Charles Michael Chandley

Charles Michael Chandley (Mike), age 57 of Orlando, FL, passed away on July 23, 2018.  Mike was born on December 1, 1960 in Orlando. Mike graduated from Evans High school and was employed as an engineer technician.

Mike is survived by his wife Melissa Chandley; his stepdaughter Stephanie Moss; his grandson Carter Moss; and two sisters Kathy Whittaker and Frances Anderson.

Mike was loved by many and will be deeply  missed.

Robert Terry Perkins

Robert Terry Perkins, age 64, passed on July 12^th, 2018 in the comfort of his home. Bob was born in Mount Prospect, Illinois on June 9^th, 1954 to Martha and Joseph Perkins. He attended Harper Jr. College in Mt. Prospect before moving to Vero Beach, Florida to attend Florida International University where he earn a Degree in Construction Management. Shortly after graduation he was recruited by Blount International and worked for 5 years on the construction of King Saud University in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. He was Project Manager for Blount on the Hillsboro County Jail in Tampa, Florida before moving to Tallahassee 1989 where his children Call and Page were born. He was selected to go to Kuiwait as part of the Emergency Response after the failed invasion by Iraq. The family moved to Orlando, Florida in 2000 where Bob opened his own construction firm, Perkins Development which specialized in medical facilities including cancer centers and Nemours Children’s hospitals.

He is survived by his brothers Thomas and James Perkins and his children Call and Page Perkins.

A service to celebrate Bob’s life will be held on July 21^st, 2018 at 1pm at Dobbs Funeral Home. Following the service will be reception hosted at the family’s home. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation be made to Bob’s favorite charity: AMVETS.

Gladys Ann Gallo

On July 15, 2018, Gladys Ann Gallo went to be with our Lord after declining health. Gladys (nee Endrizal) entered our world on August 19, 1927 in Lorain, Ohio.  As a teenager, she worked in a drugstore soda fountain, enjoyed sewing, drama and was a member of the National Honor Society.  At age 18, Gladys left Ohio for the adventures of Washington D.C. and training as an R.N. at Washington General Hospital.

Gladys went on a blind date with an Army GI because she was told he was “good for a steak dinner.”  After dating a few years, many steak dinners, and attending operas, Gladys and Ralph were married in 1949.  They continued to live in Washington D.C. while he completed his engineering degree at George Washington University on the GI bill.  He would later attribute his education to Gladys since she demanded that he complete his degree.  In 1950, Gladys and Ralph moved to Wilmington Delaware for a job opportunity, later settling in Newark, Delaware where they raised a family of four children.  As the children aged, Gladys attended the University of Delaware, graduating with a degree in Home Economics and became a teacher in Wilmington-area high schools, where she taught cooking, life skills and organized a student-run restaurant.

Surviving are Gladys’ children:  Christopher Gallo of Austin, TX, Blaise Gallo of Folsom, CA, Audrey Gallo-Freas of Houston, TX, Dolores Gallo of Winter Springs, FL, and seven grandchildren.  She is preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Raphael Edmund Gallo, and one grandson, Victor Gallo.

She was active in her church, St. Stephens Catholic Community, on the Bereavement committee, Women’s Club and Book Club.   She was also active in many of the activities at St. Luke’s Lutheran School that required sewing skills while her granddaughter attended.  Her interests included sewing, gardening, attending theater and musical performances, and spending time with her family at the beach.

Funeral mass services will be held Monday, July 23, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Stephens Catholic Community Chapel, Winter Springs, Florida.  The family will receive friends at a luncheon at the church following the service.  Gladys will be interred at a later date at Arlington National Cemetery to rest eternally beside her husband.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests memorials are made to Gladys’ favorite charity, the American Red Cross, 5 North Bumby Avenue, Orlando, 32803.

Jo Ann Selvey Smith

Jo Ann Selvey Smith, age 86 of Orlando passed away July 15, 2018 at the Cornerstone Hospice at Orlando Regional Medical Center in Orlando, Florida.  Born October 25,1931 in Princeton, West Virginia she was the fourth child of Basil Bryon Selvey and Nettie Blanche Rose.  Jo Ann was a graduate of  Princeton High School then went on to Concord College.  She married William H. (Tag) Smith in August 18,1951 and worked at Sterling until they moved to Orlando, Florida in the 1950’s.  She worked at Valencia Community College until she retired from there.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Wm H. (Tag) Smith in 2016, son William Jeffrey Smith, brother Duke and sisters Ruby, Jackie and Patricia.

Surviving her are sons Gary Wayne Smith, Robert Brian Smith and daughter Patricia Rose Smith, also she has 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held Friday morning July 20, 2018 at 10:00 o’clock at the College Park Presbyterian Church with Pastor Ryan Gaffney followed by a grave side service at Highland Cemetery.  There will be a reception at College Park Presbyterian Church following the grave side service.

Ramkissoon L. Singh

Ramkissoon L. Singh, age 80, of Orlando, passed away Saturday, July 14th, 2018.  at Florida Hospital Orlando.  He was born in Cunupaia, Trinidad,   the son of the late Dorothy (Singh)  and Ramlakhan  Singh and was employed as a financial banker.

Ramkissoon leaves to cherish his memory, three daughters, Mala Singh of Switzerland, Nisha Singh of Orlando, Shasty Singh of Miami;  sister Mona Singh, of Trinidad; four brothers Basdeo Singh, of England, Carl Singh of Trinidad, Pradeep Singh of St. Lucie, FL,  David Singh of Orlando; 2 grandchildren Vimal J. and Vijay H. Baksh of Orlando.

A Traditional Hindu Service will be held at 10:30 AM on Wednesday, July 18th, 2018 at Dobbs Funeral Home followed by cremation services at Metro Crematory in Ocoee.

Mary Catherine Lambert Danielson

Mary Catherine Lambert Danielson, age 94 of Winter Park  died July 4, 2018 at the Hospice of the Comforter in Altamonte Springs, Florida.

Born March 29, 1924 in Bluestone, West Virginia she was the third of five children of the late Trula Faye Grady and Paris Harvey Lambert. Mary was a 1942 graduate of Bramwell High School, then went on to attend the Lewis Gale School of Nursing in Roanoke, Virginia. In 1943  she joined the United States Cadet Nurse Corp, and the last six months of school she was transferred to the United States Marine Hospital in Norfolk, Virginia where she worked and graduated in 1945. Mary remained at the Marine Hospital for ten years working for the U.S. Public Health Service before moving to Miami, Florida in 1955 where she joined the staff of Doctors Hospital in Coral Gables retiring with sixteen years of service in 1971.

In 1977, the Danielsons bought a retirement home in Quail Ridge in Boynton Beach and following Dr. Danielson’s retirement they made that their permanent home in 1985. They also had a home at Mountain Glen in Newland, North Carolina where they spent their summers. Where ever they were, Harry and Mary always enjoyed a round of golf, a game of bridge, and traveling.

Mary moved to the Winter Park Towers in 2002  where she enjoyed her friendships and became an active member of the Winter Park Presbyterian Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Harry E. Danielson in 1989, a sister, Dorothy Lambert Kiser, and three brothers, Paris Harvey Lambert, Jr., James Ernest Lambert and John Grady Lambert.

Surviving are her daughter and son-in-law, Patrician and Stanley A. Dickinson of Winter Park; a grandson, Blair Dickinson of Winter Park; a granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Trula Dickinson Donley and Scott Donley, and Mary’s  great-granddaughter, Catherine Tate Donley of Winter Haven, Florida.  Other survivors include Pamela and Wallace Newlin of Osprey, Florida and Christine Sheppard of Alachua, Florida.

Funeral services will be held Saturday Morning, July 7, 2018 at 11 o’clock at the Winter Park Presbyterian Church with the Reverend Dr. Walter Jackson and the Reverend Emily Wasser officiating. The family will receive friends at a reception at the church following the service. A family committal service will be held in the Palm Cemetery in Winter Park.

Mohini Persaud

Mohini Persaud, age 54, of Clermont, FL passed away Saturday, June 30th, 2018  at Health Central Hospital in Ocoee.  She was born in Georgetown, Guyana, the daughter of the late Bhedawati (Lal)  and Jai  Lall and was employed as a nurse.

Mohini leaves to cherish her memory,  husband Kubeer Persaud; daughter, Nadiya Persaud,  two sons Ganesh Persaud, Devendra Persaud, all of Clermont;  she is also survived by two sisters, Nelly Outram and Geeta Ambedkar both of Toronto. 

Traditional Hindu services will be held from 9:00 AM to 12:30 PM on Thursday, July 5th, 2018 at Dobbs Funeral Home in Orlando, FL., followed by interment at Metro Crematory in Ocoee.
