Jeanne E. Horn

Jeanne E. Horn,  age 82, of  Orlando, passed away  Thursday, April 25th, 2013.  Her experience record with the physically challenged spans more than 50 years, with 35 years spent as a Sign Language Interpreter for the hearing impaired.  Born in Cliff, Long Island, NY,  the daughter of Wesley and Jeanne Amanda  (Mathews) Van Dyke, she attended and was certified at Gallaudet College for the Deaf in Washington, DC as a sign language interpreter.    Jeanne's career led her to employment with the Helen Keller Center for the Deaf/Blind, Disney World, the Easter Seal Society, a Daycare Center for cocaine babies, Director of Physically Challenged Services at a three campus college, and many others.

As a volunteer, Jeanne's services were invaluable at nursing homes and as a certified trainer with the Department of Health and Rehabilitation Serices of Central Florida.  Jean's church is St. Mary of the Angels Episcopal  and she has served in many other denominations as a volunteer sign language interpreter.  Her major areas of interest were in story-telling, teaching Bible studies and leading current events discussions. She also led in-service training workshops and communications classes for Village church members at Good Samaritan Village in Kissimmee, doing 20 one-on-one visits per week with the residents.   Many have benefited from her expertise inclusive of physicians offices, emergency rooms, ICUs, Hospice, etc. and her services were free of charge.

Jeanne is predeceased by her son David, who was a Long Island Fire Department Chief and her son Kenneth who was a show director of Walt Disney World in Orlando.  Another piece of interesting data bout her family is that her great grandmother was an American Indian who was killed in a prairie fire.  Jeanne leaves to cherish her memory, friend and Health Surrogate Bruce Wohl of Orlando and friend and Executor Alexandra (Sandy) Harp., plus a host of other sorrowing friends.  She will be missed by all who had the privilege to know her.

I was saddened to hear that Jeanne had passed away, but what helped bring comfort was to find that the Bible speaks of a time when death will be done away with:

Isa. 25:8, 9: “He will actually swallow up death forever, and the Sovereign Lord Jehovah will certainly wipe the tears from all faces. . . . And in that day one will certainly say: ‘Look! This is our God. We have hoped in him, and he will save us. This is Jehovah. We have hoped in him. Let us be joyful and rejoice in the salvation by him.’”

Also at John 5:28, 29: “Do not marvel at this, because the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out, those who did good things to a resurrection of life, those who practiced vile things to a resurrection of judgment.”

I know you will still experience pain, grief, and sorrow but I hope that these scriptures will bring some measure of comfort to you.

Please accept my sincere sympathy for the passing of your love one. I pray you will find peace and comfort in God's love during this grievous time.-I John 4:8. Jesus likens death to sleep(Luke 8:49-56;John 11:11-14) which he has the power of the holy spirit to awaken those who are now sleeping in death.-John 5:28,29. Just imagine your sorrow being turned into joy when Jesus fulfills that promise to raise those in the graves back to life with the prospect of eternal life on the renewed paradise earth.-Acts 24:15; Luke 23:43. Please read these scriptures for added peace and comfort.-Matthew 5:4.

With Apple Motion, you work by developing text and graphical items in a modified two dimensional space.

While some games may protect children from the undesirable elements at the
arcades, the effect is largely the same. The best part of using Elements is it allows novice filmmakers do
a lot and makes it easy.

Multiplayer versions is more exciting as in this, you'll be able to team up or even contend with other participants to defeat the enemies. A bowler who can consistently pick up his spares can easily hold a 180 average without getting any strikes. Well, you can have that same chess engine on your Android mobile phone, courtesy of Droid - Fish.

On behalf of myself and her friend June Bowlby -- how privileged we were to have Jeanne as a friend in Christ and to know her and her many gifts which she shared to freely. Jeanne (and her cat) came to live with June briefly after the '04 hurricanes. Rest in peace good and faithful servant!

My experience getting to know Jeanne was such an enjoyable one. My girlfriend Nancy, asked if I would drive with her to take Jeanne back to her hometown of Orlando. She was not happy in Springfield and wanted to go home. So we set out on our journey and Jeanne was such a remarkably intelligent, distinguished and humorous lady. So sad to hear of her passing. I will greatly miss my Christmas cards with pictures of her and her kitty. Rest in peace my friend. God bless you.

Missing from Jeanne's obit notice is that she was a fantastic school office secretary. Prior to her retirement to Florida, she was the guidance office secretary at Middleville Junior H.S. in Northport, N.Y. She mat all the needs of three very different guidance counselors, including me. "Jeanne-E" was the consumate professional secretary with perfect secretarial skills. But more important for a person who works in a school, especially a junior high school, she possed that warmth, humor and firmness that made her a favorite of the students.
Yes, she will be missed by all those who were fortunate to know her.
