Mary Glenn Barton Pruitt

Born August 24, 1929 to Wesley and Rettie Barton in Nauvoo, Alabama and later moving to Rome, GA. She was the 9th of 12 children and at the age of 14, met Herb Pruitt, the love of her life. In Highschool, she was quite the  basketball player. She and Herb married May 25, 1947, a week after her high school graduation and were married for 73 years until the Lord called Herb home last year. Mary is survived by daughter, Linda Vaughn and husband Ronnie of Orlando, Robin Pruitt and wife Kathy of Orlando, Brother,  Foy Barton of Windermere, 6 grandchildren and 14 great grandchildren and one more that will be born next week.

She was a homemaker, a clothing and fabric store owner, a seamstress like no other (she made clothes for herself, her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and cheerleading uniforms for countless girls in the Ocoee and Winter Garden area).

She had a passion for sewing, spending time spoiling grandchildren and serving others. She taught Sunday school, was a wonderful elder’s wife and church worker. She loved everyone and was a very giving and selfless child of God.

The family will be receiving friends from 9:30a until 10:00a followed by the funeral service on Saturday, November 13, 2021 at the Concord Street Church of Christ.  The church is located at 626 E. Concord Street, Orlando FL 32803.  Interment will follow the funeral service at Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
