Lila "Mae" Butler

Lila "Mae" Butler passed away peacefully at home Tuesday, July 5, 2023.  Mae Butler was born in Manassas, Georgia on September 20, 1938, to Henry & Lila Donahue, the last of 8 children.  Mae was 2 years old when they moved to Miami, Florida before settling in Orlando at the age of 4 near Turkey Lake off what is now Conroy Road.

Mae married Byron Butler on December 30, 1955, after a short 6-month courtship.  They were married 58 years which Byron passed away in September 2014. Mae & Byron had 4 children (2 sets of twins).  Mae loved to travel, camp, fish and visit with her family & friends.  She loved to get outside in her yard to walk and enjoy the various plants and flowers that were in bloom.

Mae was a cherished member of Lake Hill Baptist Church and served in many roles of the years. Her favorite role was probably as a  youth leader and taking the youth groups to the beach or one of the springs in the summer to swim.  The last year or so, when she could, the enjoyed attending the church's women's group (God's Girls).

Mae is preceded in death by her parents, all her siblings her husband Byron and son Bryan.

Children: Pam (Joe) Sheldon; Paula (Scott) Campion; Belinda (Earl) Dowling & Bryan  & Bryan (Deceased) (Teresa) Butler.

Grandchildren: Dylan Campion; Brandon Dowling; Joey Sheldon; Brandyn Butler & Jennifer Sheldon.

Great-Grandchildren: Ayden Campion; Collin Campion & Jackson Campion.

The family will be receiving friends at 10:30 a.m.. followed by the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, July 31st, 2023 at Lake Hill Baptist Church in Orlando.  Interment will follow the service at Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
