Anthony J. Zettler
August 9, 1928 ~ May 30, 2010
He passed away peacefully with family by his bedside. He was a Catholic, beloved husband, son, brother, & father. Born the youngest of 12 to Monica & William Zettler of Canton, Ohio, he sis survived by his devoted wife Vikki Reiko Zettler, sisters Rita Waddell of Sun City, AZ, & Therese Binkley of N. Canton, OH, his son Matt Zettler, daughters Christina Zettler, Rose Zettler and Aime Z. Clarke, Son-in-law Randy Clarke, Daughter-in-law Susan Zettler, grandchildren Elizabeth Cunningham, Adam Cunningham 7 great-grandson Taven Cunningham and dozens of nieces & nephews.
He was raised during the depression to a great American family who rallied together to endure many hardships of familial deaths & wars. He was a star football player in his youth. He became an Airman in 1951 during the Korean War and was stationed in Naha, Okinawa, Japan in 1952. He was an Air Force football champ & manager of the Naha Airmen's Club, the "Copa Cabana" at Peon Plaza. He loved music and had a beautiful singing voice. Singing at the Club, he found the love of his life Reiko Nohara, who was highly respected & regarded by her peers & whom he later married at the Catholic Mission. Together they lived a happy & fulfilling family life. He retired from Disney after 26 years of service. he had an entrepreneurial spirit throughout his life always encouraging others toward excellence. He was sweet & funny until the end, always telling his family to be good. Along with Vikki, he was a lifetime member of Holy Family Catholic Church, a supporter of the school and Mary Queen of the Universe Basilica in Orlando.
Viewing will be held at Dobbs Funeral Home on June 3, 2010 from 5:00 - 7:00 PM; for directions, see dobbsfuneralhome.com or call 407-578-7720. Service will be at Holy Family Catholic Church, 5125 S.
