Jane’s first passion was her family, followed closely by her love of creativity. Whether that be a giant meal for her family and friends, a canvas painting or a huge mural, a story, a quilt, or a piece of furniture, over the course of her life, her passion for creating inspired her family and those around her.
An active and devout Catholic, Jane was a parishioner of Holy Family Catholic Church for 34 years. She enthusiastically served the church community as an Eucharistic Minister and Reader, organized right to live events, ran the "Helping Hands Ministry" to provide a warm meal for the Downtown Coalition for the Homeless one Sunday a Month for 4 years, and headed several sewing ministries at Holy Family, including the effort to provide white garments for Baptisms.
As much as she could, she loved visiting natural, wild places that inspired creativity and helped her feel closer to God. She made time to bike frequently on the West Orange Trail, and visited her cottage, to paint and be peaceful, in the Great Smoking Mountains National Park.
Jane is survived by her husband, Carl and four children, John, Peter, Mary, and Kathleen, and 13 grandchildren. Her third son, Michael, has reunited with her in heaven.
The family will be receiving friends at Holy Family Catholic Church on Friday, June 15, 2018 from 6:30 until 7:30 pm. The funeral mass will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with Father Ennis officiating.
