Edward “Ed”
Joseph Ferone, passed away at his home on Thursday, January 30th,
surrounded by family and friends.
Ed was born on
January 27, 1944, in Nashville, Tennessee to Carmine and Rose
Ferone. Shortly after, his family relocated to New York City, where he spent
most of his childhood. After graduating from the Citadel in 1965, Ed joined the
Army, and served his nation proudly. After an honorable discharge, he pursued a
fulfilling career in Civil Engineering.
In 1980, he
married Debbie, and they had five children. Ed was a loving husband, father,
grandfather (Papa), and brother. He will always be remembered as hardworking,
selfless, witty and fun-loving. Ed’s greatest joy was his family and making
people smile.
He is survived
by his wife, Debbie, his children: Ashley, Christopher, Brianne, Hayley and
Gregory; and his grandchildren: Finn, Sailor, Navy and Crew.
His Funeral
Mass will be held on Wednesday, February 5th at 10:00 a.m., at St.
James Catholic Cathedral, Orlando, Florida.
The family requests that in lieu of flowers,
memorial contributions may be made to:
St.
Jude Children’s Research Hospital, where Ed and his family donated his
pacemaker to be used for infants born with heart defects.

Ed was an excellent man. He was always volunteering his time for the betterment of the community. I worked with Ed with Cub Scouts, where Ed was our Pack Leader. He did such a fantastic job working with the children. It was a privilege to know and volunteer with him. We have lost a great man.
