Dorothy B. Douglas “Dottie” of Winter Garden, FL passed
away on Wednesday, October 18, 2017. She was born on March 31, 1921 in
Hawthorne, NJ. Prior to moving to Winter
Garden in 2004 she resided in Lake Park, FL for 47 years.
After graduating high school Mom enjoyed a career as a
telephone operator for 9 years before meeting and marrying the love of her life
Doug. Their marriage spanned 55 years
until his death in 2002. In 1957 they
relocated to Lake Park, Florida where she was very active in her children’s
lives, her local United Methodist Church and remained a member of the Order of
the Eastern Star of New Jersey.
Mom was fully involved in the lives of her family,
providing guidance when we strayed and understanding of our digressions, but always
love in her heart. The only item she was
unyielding with was in her favorite color ‘blue’; so much so that when her roof
needed replacing she requested blue shingles for her blue house.
Predeceased by her parents Jennie Strong Baker and William
H. Baker, sister Audrey Nicol, and loving husband of 55 years Frank “Doug”
Douglas. She is survived by her sister
Shirley Johnson, Palm Beach Gardens, FL,
daughter Charalyn Blagg (Ronnie), Winter Garden, FL and son William F.

I would like to offer my condolences for your loss. I hope you will find comfort in knowing that Jehovah, the God of all comfort, will soon eliminate all grief and provide permanent consolation when “all those in the memorial tombs will hear [Christ’s] voice and come out”! (John 5:28, 29) God promises that “he will do away with death forever, and the Sovereign Lord Jehovah will wipe away the tears from all faces.” (Isa. 25:8) Then, instead of having to “weep with those who weep,” all earth’s inhabitants will “rejoice with those who rejoice.”—Rom. 12:15.
