Yolanda A. Nurse

Yolanda A. Nurse, age 52 of Orlando passed away on Wednesday, January 30th, 2013. at Dr. P. Phillips Hospital.   She was born in Tela, Honduras, the daughhter of Oswaldo P. and Laura White.  Yolanda was a devoted wife and homemaker and leaves to cherish her memory, husband  Roderick Nurse, Sr.; son Roderick Nurse, Jr.; daughter Jenniene Nurse; four sisters, Jean Payne, Stella Calix, Janeth Irias, Mara McCoy; brother Kirk White; brothers and sisters-in-laws; nieces, nephews and many sorrowing friends. 

The family will be receiving friends in the Daily Chapel at Holy Family Catholic Church from 12:30 until 1:30 pm on Monday, February 4th, 2013 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial with Father Justin Vakko officiating.  the interment will be held at Dr. Phillips Cemetery.

Thomas Mitchell Hage, Sr.

Thomas Mitchell Hage, Sr., age 71 of Clermont, passed away on Monday, January 28, 2013. He was born in Jacksonville, Florida, the son of John and Helen (Skaff) Hage and resided primarily in Orlando, Florida. Tom was a graduate of Bishop Moore High School (1959) and the University of Florida (1963). Tom was the owner/operator of Benu Service Co. and was a state general contractor and a certified tax preparer.
 
Early in his life, he was a member of the Knights of Columbus and a member of St. James parish. After the birth of his children, he became a member of St. Andrews parish and was an avid youth soccer coach for 20 years. Later in his life, he moved to Clermont and attended Blessed Sacrament Church. Tom was a passionate sports fan supporting the Florida Gators, Pittsburgh Steelers, and the Fighting Irish of Notre Dame.
 
He is preceded in death by his son, John Phillip Hage (2005). Tom leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 47 years, Roxanne Hage of Jacksonville; his children: Christopher and Sandra Hage of Cincinnati, OH, Thomas Hage, Jr. and Leslie Hage of Orlando, Brad and Allison (Hage) Lehnen and Phillip and Christi Hage of Grand Rapids, MI; and 14 grandchildren. Viewing will be at St. Andrews Catholic Church on Friday, February 1, 2013 from 7:00 pm until 9:00 pm. Father Tim LaBo will lead the service.
 
The funeral service will be at St. Andrews Catholic Church on Saturday, February 2, 2013 at 10:00 am and conclude at Woodland Cemetery. The family requests in lieu of flowers donations be made in Tom's name to St. Jude’s Hospital.    http://www.stjude.org/waystohelp

Vernell Massey

Vernell Massey was called home to be with his Savior and Lord on Wednesday, January 23, 2013. He was born on May 15, 1942 to the late Grant and Mamie Massey of Tildenville, Florida. Whenever, someone mentions the name Vernell Massey a smile automatically will appear on their face because he was just a funny and humorous person. He could mesmerize anyone with his jokes and talltales (lies). It was his way of having fun and enjoying life. We all loved being around him and laughing with him whether it was eating his infamous barbeque or listening to his talltales. He was the life of the party. Vern will be dearly missed. Vern recently joined St. Paul AME Church under the leadership of Rev. Frank Massey. There, he attended until his sickness made it impossible for him to get out and about. He was married to a devoted wife, Regina Massey and to this union they have a loving and caring son, Gabriel. He also leaves to mourn his other children (4) daughters and (4 more) sons: Erika Massey of Ocala, Emma Jean Wilder of Winter Garden, Kimberly Russell of Georgia, Latoya Williams of Oakland, Dennis Massey of New York, Rickey Massey of Orlando, Vernon Jackson of Maryland, Warren Bennett of Ocala; mother-in-law, Myrtice Jefferson, father-in-law James Jefferson; he also leaves sisters and brothers, Frances Luckett of Orlando, Beverly Mount (John) of Orlando, Greg Massey of Orlando, Pauline Thornton of Georgia, Paul Thornton (Edith) of Groveland, Kamisha Jackson of Orlando, Kenneth Postell of Oakland; a special uncle, Curtis Massey (Edna) of Oakland, aunt Minnie Gray (Willie) of Orlando, uncle Willie Williams (Lily) of Mount Dora, a devoted friend Leon Carter of Oakland a host of grandchildren, family and friends. The family will be receiving friends at St. Paul AME Church located at 330 Center Street, Winter Garden on tuesday, January 29, 2013 from 5 until 7 pm. The funeral service will be held at the church on Wednesday, January 30, 2013 at 1:00 pm with Pastor Frank Massey officiating, followed by interment at Oakland Cemetery. Repast immediately following the interment at St. Paul AME Church.

Brandi Nylee Walker

Brandi Nylee Walker, age 37, of Orlando, passed away at 0745, Tuesday, January 8th, 2013 at Hunters Creek Nursing and Rehab.  She was born in Hackensack, NJ the daughter of Eula (Pleasant) and the late Richard Oliver.  She moved to Central Florida from New Jersey in 1991 and was employed as a medical assistant.   Brandi was a member of Joshua Generation Church in Orlando. 
She leaves to cherish her memory, husband Vernon Walker of Orlando;  two daughters, Vlan Walker, of Orlando;  Tahj-Brion Walker, of Orlando;  two sons Vernon Walker, III, of Orlando; Markhi Hamilton, of Orlando;  three sisters, Terry  Oliver, of New Jersey; Yvette of Maryland; Remi Salas, of Orlando;  five brothers, Richard Oliver, Jr., of New Jersey; Herb Hamlin, Jr., of New Jersey; Damien Hamlin, of New Jersey; Sean Hamlin, of New Jersey; Ollie Hamlin, of Orlando.
The family will be receiving friends at Dobbs Funeral Home on Friday, January 18, 2013 from 12:00 until 1:00 pm., followed by the service at 1:00 pm with Rev. Owens officiating.

Monica Cotelo

Monica Cotelo, age 32, of Windermere passed away recently.  Monica was born in Madrid, Spain the daughter of Manuel and Mercedes Larrea.

The Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Holy Family Catholic Church on Wednesday, January 16, 2013 at 12:00 pm, followed by a reception from 1 - 1:30 pm.  Interment will be at Winter Garden Cemetery at 2:00 pm.

Walter B. Pyburn

Walter B. Pyburn
Walter B. Pyburn, age 81, passed away on Friday, January 11, 2013.  He was born in Andalusia, Alabama, the son of Oliver Lee and Perlie (Coon) Pyburn and moved to Central Florida from Alabama in 1950.  Walter is a United States Army Veteran and was employed as a packing machine installer in the Citrus industry.
Walter leaves to cherish his memory, wife Marge (Payne) Pyburn of Frostproof, Florida; daughters Patricia Evelyn of Wellington, Florida, Peggy Moore of St. Cloud, Florida, Susan Larson of Apopka, Florida; brothers William Pyburn of Ocoee, Charles Pyburn of Apopka, Edward Pybyrn of Montverde; and 1 grandchild. 
Viewing will be at Dobbs Funeral Home on Monday, January 14, 2013 from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm, followed by a graveside service at Highland Memory Gardens in Apopka with Military Honors.  Rev. John Holloway of First Baptist Church, Sweetwater is the officiant.

Bessie Tipler

Bessie Tipler, age 74 of Clermont, passed away on Sunday, January 6, 2013.  She was born in Cleethorpes, England the daughter of Ernest H. and Alma (Washington) Yarborough and moved to Central Florida from England in 1967.  Bessie was a homemaker and member of First Baptist Church of Orlando. 
She is preceded in death by grandchildren, Matthew John Wilson (1985), M. Eric Wilson (1987), Jonathan A. Wilson (2007), and great grandson Lincoln D. Akers (2012).  Bessie leaves to cherish her memory, husband Rowland Tipler of Clermont; daughters Joy Wilson of Minneola, Christine (Greg) Akers of Groveland, Julie (Ed) Paten of Altamonte Springs; 2 sisters Rebecca (Bob) Slavin of Port Orange, Margaret Smith of Kingman, Arizona; aunt Joyce (John) Armour of Palm Coast; grandchildren Angela K. Wilson of S. Lake Tahoe, CA; Daniel M. Wilson of Reno, NV, David H. Wilson of Minneola, Adam (Amanda) G. Akers of Sevierville, TN; Amanda C. (Shawn) Akers-McGlothlin of Winter Garden, Andrew W. Akers of Clermont, Will E. Paten, Gabrielle, M. Paten, Noah T.  Paten, Ava C Paten, Judah N. Paten all of Altamonte Springs; great-grandchildren Mariah, Haydon, Mason, Cade and Macy.

Virginia K. Coley

Virginia K. Coley, age 82 of Orlando, passed away on Thursday, January 3rd, 2013.  She was born in Raritan Township, New Jersey the daughter of William and Emma (Meserole) Latham and moved the Central Florida from Mississippi in 1986.  Virginia was a homemaker and member of Holy Family Catholic Church.  She was also a member of the Perpetual Adoration Society at Holy Family. 
 
Virginia is predeceased by her brother William Latham (1945) and sister Mary Latha (1938).  She leaves to cherish her memory, husband John Coley of Orlando; four daughters Patti (Joe Joseph) Yorty of Longwood, Barbara (Steve) Colville of Pascagoula, Mississippi, Kathy (Mac) Williams of Greer, South Carolina, Maureen (Steve) Fortin of Wake Forest, North Carolina; son Jack (Sue) Coley of Greenwood, Indiana; sister Helen Calamoneri of Point Pleasant, New Jersey; 11 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren.
 
The family will be receiving friends at Dobbs Funeral Home on Sunday, January 6th, 2013 from 3:00 until 6:00 pm.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at Holy Family Catholic Church on Monday, January 7th, 2013 at 11:00 a m., followed by interment at Dr. Phillips Cemetery. The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made in Virginia's name to Floral Adoration Chapel at Holy Family Catholic Church.
 
A reception will follow interment at the church.

Roy Lee Richardson

Roy Lee Richardson, age 67, passed away on Tuesday, December 25, 2012.  He was born in Orlando, Florida , the son of Troy and Pearl (Mobley) Richardson.  Roy was employed  as a Licensed Practical Nurse and retired from the Center for Drug Free Living.
 
Roy leaves to cherish his memory, son Roy Richardson, Jr.; daughters Tanya Garrett, Jacklyn McCaskill, Sauntel Richardson and 7 grandchildren.  A memorial service will be held at Dobbs Funeral Home on Friday, January 4, 2012 at 11:00 am, following the visiting hour at 10:00 am.  Interment will be at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell at 2:00 pm.
