God Took Him To His Loving Home
God saw him getting tired, a cure was not to be.
He wrapped him in his loving arms and whispered ‘Come with me.’
He suffered much in silence, his spirit did not bend.
He faced his pain with courage, until the very end.
He tried so hard to stay with us but his fight was not in vain,
God took him to His loving home and freed him from the pain.

Evelyn Lowry

On Monday September 23, 2013 at 4:52pm my mother Evelyn Lowry departed this earth to spend eternity with her Lord and savior Jesus Chris. Two weeks ago she had severe internal bleeding for three days. The doctors did not know what to do. They kept giving her blood and eventually her bleeding stopped. Her time in the hospital, due to her dementia, was very hard on her because she did not know where she was or why she was there. She went to a hospice facility that could provide nurses that were better suited for her special needs once the bleeding stopped. When she arrived there she was so happy and thought she was at a resort. We talked about my kids (who have not been kids for a long time) and that I should take them to the park while she stayed in bed and rested. She ate a meal and after making her comfortable, so she could go to sleep, I went home. However, through the night it appeared she must have had a stroke. She struggled to talk and grasp things with her hands. After a few days I believe she decided to go and be with the Lord as she had no desire to eat or drink for four days. During her last days our family was with her at her bedside talking to her, praying over her, singing songs and reading scripture. When the end was eminent, I would watch her jugular vein when she momentarily wouldn't breath to make sure she was still alive. When I was playing the song "I'll Fly Away" to her, she listened to the song while I was looking into her eyes. As the song finished, she released the last breath of air and I saw no movement in her jugular vein and knew she had left us at the end of the song and "Flew Away".

The service for Evelyn Lowry will be held on Thursday October 3rd at 4pm to celebrate her life. The service will be located in the Henry Chapel at First Baptist Church of Orlando on John Young Parkway.

Twenty Third Psalm

The Lord is my shepherd, I shall not want. He maketh me to lie down in green pastures; He leadeth me beside the still waters. He restores my soul, He leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name's sake. Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil; for Thou art with me, thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies; thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over. Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life; and I will dwell in the house of the Lord forever.

Thomas F. Hale

Thomas F.  Hale, 60, passed away on July 5, 2013 surrounded by his loving family.  Tom is survived by his devoted wife Mary; children Shawn (Tiffany), Justin (Alison), Joshua, Kathleen and Elizabeth; grandchildren Shawn, Riley, Mason, William, and Cy; siblings Kenneth and  David Hale and Cheryl Somerset.  He was born in England at a US military base, where his father was stationed.
Shortly after his birth, his family relocated back to the states, eventually settling in Winter Garden, Florida. After graduating from Lakeview High School, Tom served four years in the United States Air Force as a crew chief on C130 airplanes.   After leaving the military, following in his father's footsteps, he was blessed with a passion for his career as a truck driver.    He drove for The Martin Brower Company for 31 years, delivering to McDonald's throughout the state of Florida. During those years he won numerous truck driving competitions at both local and state levels.
It was while delivering to McDonald's, Tom met Mary.   They were married in December of 1988, celebrating 25 years of marriage this year. His role as a father added great meaning to his life. He enjoyed coaching his three son's baseball teams, and was thrilled to eventually have two daughters to complete his family.  As a family, they looked forward to and enjoyed many vacations both here in the states and cruising the Caribbean. Tom enjoyed a variety of hobbies over the years, including model building, fishing, bowling, flying single engine planes, and eventually settling into a good game of golf. Tom and his family were long time parishioners at Saint Andrews Church.
Diagnosed early this year with advanced lung cancer, he courageously battled the awful disease.  Faced with a challenging prognosis, he agreed to fight the disease aggressively. He was introduced to a wonderful group of doctors, nurses, technicians, and therapists at Orlando Health. During his 7 week stay in ICU, this team, lead by Dr. Mark Vollenweider, worked daily to overcome the many obstacles he faced.  We cannot express the gratitude for the wonderful personalized care and compassion Tom received.
Family will receive friends on Monday, July 8th from 7-9 pm at Dobbs Funeral Home, located at 430 N. Kirkman Road, Orlando. Funeral Mass will be at Saint Andrews Catholic Church in Orlando on Tuesday, July 9th at 4pm with a reception to follow.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Fr. Andy O'Reilly, CPPS  (211 Green Dolphin St., Morehead City, NC 28557) to support his preaching ministry. Tom thought the world of Fr. Andy and his work in Parish Missions.
Tom lives with us in memory and will forever more.
