Edna Jewell Fouts


Edna Jewell Fouts, 88 of Orlando, Florida went to be with the Lord on October 17, 2010. Mrs. Fouts was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Oscar M. Fouts. Edna was born in Florala, Alabama on February 19, 1922 to Willy and Flossie Watson. Edna graduated from Leesburg High School. She met and married Oscar, an Army Air Corps cadet, and together they traveled and lived in many places including Tokyo, Japan and Kwajalein Atoll, before settling in Orlando. Edna was passionate about her love and service for the Lord Jesus Christ, her children Karen, Kenny, Kathy, Kristie and Kerry, 15 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren, and sister Virginia Watson Fouts. Visitation will be at Dobbs Funeral Home, Orlando, Thursday, October 21st, 2010 from 5:00 until 8:00 pm. The funeral service will be on Friday, October 22nd, 2010 at 9:30 a.m. at First Baptist Church of Central Florida, followed by interment at the Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Missions' Fund, First Baptist Church of Central Florida, 700 Good Homes Road, Orlando, FL 32818, or VITAS Innovative Hospice Care, 2075 Loch Lomond, Winter Park, FL 32792.

William J. Shaffer


William J. Shaffer, 69, of Windermere, FL, passed away on Wednesday, October 13, 2010. He was born in Douglas, Wyoming. His life was one of service to his country, his family, and his community. He served 30 years as an Army Medical Service Corps Officer and a Hospital Administrator. In 1993, COL Shaffer retired from a distinguished military career and continued to work as a consultant for Tricare Healthcare Alliance. He was a 32nd Degree Mason and a life member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. He was an avid tennis player and golfer. He is survived by his beloved wife, Mary, of 31 years; his son, Clarke, of Oak Park, Ca; his daughter, Carin, of Phoenix, AZ; and seven beautiful grandchildren. The family will be receiving friends on Tuesday, October 19th, 2010 at Dobbs Funeral Home, 430 N. Kirkman Road from 6:00 until 8:00 pm with a service at 7:00 pm. He will be buried with Standard Military Honors at Arlington Cemetery o November 18, 2010 at 2:00 p.m.

James "Jim" Nathan Gearheart


James "Jim" Nathan Gearheart, age 76 of Orlando went to be wit his Lord and Savior on Monday, October 11, 210. Jim was born in Wavun, Virginia the son of John C. and Mary (Bales) Gearheart Sr. He was employed as a driver for Hennis Freight Lines and a mechanic for Bay Hill Country Club. Jim was a member of Powers Drive Baptist Church and music technician for the church, AARP and Teamsters Local #171. He is pre-deceased by his wife Emma Sue Gearheart, and siblings Jack, Mary, Robert, Charlotte and William Gearheart. he leaves to cherish his memory, daughter Darlene GearheartWade of Brooklyn New York; sons, Nathan Scott Gearheart of Roanoke, Virginia, Todd A. Gearheart and granddaughter Torea Gearheart of Nokomis, Florida; stepchildren Katherine Sue Lavoie of Ocoee, Florida, Belinda Hinkle Crabtree of Witner Garden, Florida, John Richard Hinkle of Ocoee; brother Vernon Eugene Gearheart of Ashford, Connecticut; sisters, Margaret Wyse of Archbold, Ohio, Helen Guthrie and Betty Jo Shockley both of Salem, Virginia; brother John C. Gearheart, Jr. of Floyd, Viriginia; step grandchildren Brittany Hall, Angela Marie Blankenship and Randall Scott Nicely all of Ocoee, Florida, Christina Nicole Hinkle of Winter Garden, Florida; great-grandchildren Jeremy Hinkel and Kayla Ann Hinkle both of Winter Garden, Tanner Blankenship, Alana Blankenship both of Roanoke, Virginia, Aaron Babbit and Maya Carter both of Ocoee, Florida. The family will be receiving friends on Wednesday, October 13, 2010 from 10 to 11 a.m., at Powers Drive Baptist Church. The funeral Service will follow the visitation at 11 a.m. on Wednesday with Pastor Gerald Hicks officiating. Interment will be held at Winter Garden Cemetery. In addition to flowers the family is accepting donations to The American Heart Association.

Fred Stewart Williams
May 28, 1922 - October 11, 2010


Born to Earl and Nellie Anderson Williams in Radford, Virginia, one of 8 children. Survivors include his wife Barbara, daughter Susan Klingensmith, sons James & Fred Williams, several grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Surviving siblings are Harry (Barbara), Dan (Elaine), Nancy, and Peggy (William). A veteran of the U.S. Navy, he served during World War II the Korean conflict. A former member of the Board of the Orlando Union Rescue Mission, an active member of the Gideon's International Jail Ministry and teaching Sunday School at First Baptist Church of Central Florida fulfilled his passion for sharing the Good News.


The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am Saturday, October 16th, 2010 at the First Baptist Church of Central Florida, 700 Good Homes Road, Orlando. Viewing is scheduled from 10:00 to 11:00 am prior to the service. A graveside service will follow at Woodlawn Memorial park, Gotha. In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made using the Gideon Memorial Bible Plan.

Rubye Jane Waters


On October 6th of 1943, Rubye Jane Blocker became the wife of Clarence "Footsie" Waters, their earthly life together lasted over 62 years. They were once again united on October 3rd, 2010 in their heavenly home. as she waked down the street of gold she was met by her parents, Joe and Kate Blocker, her sisters Sadie Jane Blocker, and Rosalie Waters, her brothers, Rex Waldo, Caleb, Lonnie, Wendell, and Gettis Blocker.


Rubye was a housewife, mother, grandmother, sister, and Christian woman. She and her husband help start churches in the Central Florida area. She was a member of The Church of God of Prophecy, where she made quilts for many years and donated them to church and mission projects.


She leaves on this earth to cherish her memory her children and their spouses, Travis and Connie Waters, Orlando, Florida, Hulda and G J Casteel, Winter Garden, Florida, Pam and Mike Clanton, Panama City, Florida, Katie and Sammy bush, Nashville, Tennessee; her grandchildren, Tami Marcum, Jason and Christopher Casteel, Tiffany and Lisa Clanton, Preston and Mary Katelyn Bush; and 5 great-grandchildren; her brothers and wives, Kenneth and Betty Blocker, Glennville, Georgia, Dewight and Betty Blocker, Atlanta, Georgia, Junior Blocker, Columbia, South Carolina. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, family and friends to remember her in their hearts.


The family will be receiving friends at Dobbs Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 5th, 2010 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm., and Wednesday morning October 6th, 2010 from 9:00a - until service time. The funeral service will begin at 10:00 am. Interment will follow the service at Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
