Willard E. Nelson

Willard E. (Bill Nelson) passed away on Friday, June 24, 2015 in Windermere, FL.  He was born in Canton, IL to Rose and Marion L. Nelson.  Bill graduated from Canton High School in 1970 and from Eastern Illinois University in 1974.  That year, he married Linda Loftin of Fairfield, IL.  They moved to Florida in 1977.  Bill worked for Lockheed Martin for 38 years.


He leaves to cherish his memory mother Rose Nelson; children, son Derek, daughter Emily and their mother Linda; brothers Jerry and Jeffery and grandson Zealand Willard.  A memorial service will be held at First Baptist of Windermere on Thursday July 30, 2015 at 4:00 pm followed by a reception at Windermere Town Hall.  A Celebration of Life will be held on August 9th, in Canton, IL.

Catherine LoCascio Asher

Catherine LoCascio Asher, 99, of Ocoee, Florida, quietly passed away on Monday, July 20th, 2015.  Catherine is survived by her daughter, Patricia Borysiewicz, son-in-law, Melvin Borysiewicz, grandchildren, Kimberly Taylor, Mark Borysiewicz, Jeffrey Borysiewicz, and Amy Tipsword. Catherine was the loving great-grandmother to eight great-grandsons, Cole Crews, Benjamin Borysiewicz, Hunter Taylor, Noah Taylor, Jackson Taylor, Joshua Taylor, Boris Borysiewicz and Van Borysiewicz (all of Central Florida).

Born in Chicago, Illinois, Catherine was one of eleven brothers and sisters and is survived by her youngest sister, Frances LoCascio. (Chicago).  She was married to Perry L. Asher (predeceased) of Chicago. Catherine was a junior accountant for Fullerton Metals of Chicago and retired to Orlando, Florida to be with her daughter and grandchildren. ‘Til the very end, Catherine was an avid card player and loved nothing more than playing cards with her great grand children. She will be loved and missed by all who had the joy of knowing her, for she was small in stature, but giant in heart.


A funeral mass in Catherine’s honor will be held on Friday, July 31st, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Andrew Catholic Church, 801 N. Hastings, Orlando, FL  32808.

Ralph Terrence Jackson

Ralph Terrence (affectionately known as "Terry") Jackson, passed away at his home in Orlando, Florida on July 16, 2015 at the age of 60. Terry was born October 13, 1954 in McKees Rocks, to the parents of Lucia Loretta Gay and Ralph Robert Jackson. Terry lived an exciting and full life, he was a man of much wisdom and loved to share his life lessons with family, friends and all who would sit down for good a conversation.

Terry “AKA Cool” attended Sto-Rox High School and when he was old enough, he joined the Marine Corp., and served for 4 years being promoted to an E5 Sergeant. After leaving the Marines he joined the Army National Guard and then the Air Force Reserves and was quickly promoted to an E6 Technical Sergeant, showing hard work and dedication pay-off in the long run. Once leaving the Army National Guard, Terry continued to serve our country through the Air Force Reserves ranking Master Sergeant. Terry served for a total of 33 years in the United States Military.

Terry lived in Pittsburgh, PA. for most of his life, working 25 years and retiring in 2009 with the company of FedEx. After he retired he moved to Orlando, FL in 2010 purchasing a home, and living the remainder of his life close to his siblings that he grew up with and loved very much.

In his passing Terry leaves behind 2 sons Brooks Johnson, and Ryan Jackson; 6 siblings, Toni Jackson, Roslyn Jackson, Lanita Small, Melvin Jackson, Marvin Jackson and Lamont Jackson; his brother-in-law Leslie Small and sister-in-law Joyce Jackson and his loving granddaughter Peyton Johnson along with a host of nieces, nephew, and friends who have loved and will miss the person of Ralph Terrence (Terry) Jackson.

The family will be receiving friends at Dobbs Funeral Home from 6:00 until 8:00 pm on Thursday, July 23, 2015. The funeral service will be held 10:30 am on Friday, July 24, 2015 followed by interment at 1:30 pm at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida.

John Lombardo Jr.

John Lombardo, Jr., age 60, of Altamonte Springs, FL passed away Tuesday, July 14th, 2015 at Florida Hospital Orlando.  John was born in Providence, Rhode Island, the son of Pauline (Rappa) and John Lombardo, Sr.  He was employed as a physical therapist.

John leaves to cherish his memory, two sons John and Joseph Lombardo both of Altamonte Springs; two sisters Debra Ann Lombardo and Paula Marie Cardillo both of Warwick, RI; brother, David Lombardo of New York, NY. and mother and father in-law Pam and Houston Melton, Orlando FL.

The family will be receiving friends at Dobbs Funeral Home  from 11:00 am until 12:00 pm followed by the funeral service at 12:00 pm on Monday, July 20th,  with Pastor Jeff Thompson officiating.

Dorothy W. Parrish

Dorothy W. Parrish, age 86 of Summerfield, FL passed away Wednesday, July 8th, 2015 at Tuscany House in Marion County.  She was born in Orlando, FL, the  daughter of the late Mary Irene (Carroll) and Alonzo  Wadkins and employed as a secretary for an insurance company.  

Dorothy leaves to cherish her memory husband LeRoy Parrish;  daughter Lori Kasper both of Summerfield;  2 grandchildren William Allan Kasper of Summerfield and Christopher Charles Kasper of Brooklyn; and  brother Thomas E. Wadkins, of Groveland, FL. 

The family will be receiving friends at Dobbs Funeral Home Chapel in Orlando on Tuesday, July 14, 2015 from 12:00 until 2:00 pm, followed by the funeral service with Pastor Dave Connell officiating. Interment will be at Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery Gotha, FL.

Bruce H. Blackman

Bruce H. Blackman, 61, of Windermere, Florida passed away at home on June 28, 2015. He was born in Baton Rouge, La, on July 5, 1953 the son of Albert E. & Billie P. Blackman Sr. He was a graduate of Tioga High School and Northwestern State University. He then moved to Orlando, Fl  area  where he lived and worked  for the past 30 years.

Bruce leaves to celebrate his life Gaye Blackman, his daughter Holly Blackman of Portland, Oregon his brother Albert E. “Bill”(Kathy) Blackman Jr., sister Barbara “Babs” Merters, a nephew Todd(Summer) Blackman all of Ball, La. and three nieces Shannon (Brian) Soileau of New Orleans, Jordan and Kacee Mertens of Ball, La.


A memorial service to celebrate Bruce’s life will be held at Old Spring Ridge Baptist Church Aimwell, La on July 25, 2015 at 10:00am

Christine Diane Garcia

Christine Diane Garcia, age  23, of  Flagstaff, AZ (formerly of Orlando) passed away Saturday, June 27th, 2015 in Arizona.  She was born in Orlando, the  daughter of Evelyn Sanchez  and Roberto Garcia and was employed as a bio med engineer. 

Christine leaves to cherish her memory along with her parents, brother Matthew Garcia; paternal grandfather Rafael Garcia; maternal grandparents Domingo Sanchez and Celsa Orgiz.

The family will be receiving friends at St. Andrew Catholic Church on Thursday, July 2nd, 2015 from 5:30 until 8:00 pm, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am on Friday, July 3rd, 2015 with Father Leo Hodges officiating.  Interment will follow the mass at Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
