Oscar Osvaldo Ocasio

Oscar Osvaldo Ocasio, age 92, of Orlando,  passed away Wednesday, November 20th, 2019 at Mike Conley Hospice House in Clermont,  Florida.  He was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico,   the son of the late Petra L. (Hernandez)  and Medardo  Ocasio.  He served in the U.S. Army and was employed as a commercial and residential architect.  

Oscar leaves to cherish his memory, wife Luisa  Correa of Orlando; son Oscar E. Ocasio, of San Juan, Puerto Rico;  two step daughters, Helen Delgado of Holly Springs, NC; Nancy Kacir of Winter Garden, FL;  10 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

The family received friends at 9:00 am on Friday, November 22, 2019 at Dobbs Funeral Home, followed by the funeral service at 10:00 am with Pastor Mike Vidal officiating.

Lowell Thomas Boggs


Lowell Thomas Boggs, 83, of Ocoee, Florida, previously of Ashland, died Friday, November 15, 2019, at his home surrounded by family.

He was born June 17, 1936, in Ashland, the son of the late Thomas and Pauline Ison Boggs.

He was a retired teacher and school administrator in the Orange County Public Schools for more than 30 years and a member of the Starke Lake Baptist Church where he was chairman of the Men’s Ministry and a men’s Sunday School teacher .

He was a 1955 graduate of Ashland High School and later Eastern Kentucky Teachers College where he earned his teaching degree. Mr. Boggs also taught four years in the prison and high school in Chillicothe, Ohio, before moving to Florida.


Besides his parents he was preceded in death by sisters Allene Little and Evelyn Daughtery, brother Larry Boggs and sons Pete Condon and Kevin Condon.


Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Pam Boggs, brother Fred (Alva) Boggs, son Allen (Katie) Boggs and daughters Nancy (Jim) Schaefer, Kelly (James) Robillard, Kathy Sutherland, Mary (Ralph) Pollard and Kerry Gerrity, 26 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.

The family will be receiving friends at Starke Lake Baptist Church on Tuesday, November 19, 2019 at 11:00 am, followed by the funeral service at 12:00 pm.  Interment will be at Ocoee Cemetery.

Alexandria Monica Gillis

Alexandria Monica Gillis, age 38 of Orlando, passed away Friday, November 1st, 2019.   She was born in Stoughton, Massachusetts, the daughter of Walter E. Quinn and Anne Gillis and was employed in hospitality.

Alexandria leaves to cherish her memory, mother Anne Gillis, daughter Arianna Delgado, son Julian Delgado all of Orlando; sons Jonathan and Jaydon Pappas both of Massachusetts and brother Ross Mousette of Orlando.

The family is having a gathering of friends at 1:30 pm followed by a memorial service at 2:00 pm on November 21st, 2019 at Dobbs Funeral Home.

Jennifer Ann Bleichner


Jennifer Ann Bleichner, age 32, of Orlando, passed away Friday, November 8th, 2019.  She was born in Sanford, FL the daughter of Brian and Sally (Stephenfield) Bleichner, and was employed as a nutrition consultant for Natures Market, Funeral Associate for Dobbs Funeral Home and was a senior at St. Petersburg College earning her degree in Mortuary Science.   She attended Church in the Son in Orlando.

Jennifer was a fitness enthusiast who would often be seen at LA Fitness for 4 - 5 hours on any given day.  She was an old soul who loved her music, Johnny Mathis, Elvis, the Beach Boys and wouldn't dream of missing a Michael Jackson or Prince Concert!  Often times she had a dry sense of humor that you would miss if you didn't know her until you thought about it for a few minutes (The Queen of Puns), plus she was a music history buff.  She knew her stuff!  Name That Tune!!!!

Jennifer leaves to cherish her memory, father Brian Bleichner of Orlando;  mother Sally Bleichner of Geneva; brothers Eric Bleichner of Altamonte Springs, Ryan Bleichner of Bogata, TX; Christopher Bleichner of Orlando; grandmother Molly Perry of Geneva; nephews Thomas Bleichner, Bryan David Bleichner and 3 nieces Emily, Sophie and Lee Lu.

A memorial service for Jennifer will be held at 6:00 pm on Saturday, November 23, 2019 at Dobbs Funeral Home.

Dean Thakurdin

Dean Thakurdin, age 95, of  Orlando, passed away Sunday, November 10th, 2019 at the Solaris Windermere Nursing Home  He was born in Susannah's Rust, Guyana, the son of Rampersaud and Necchi and was employed as a machinist for a gun manufacturer.  

Dean leaves to cherish his memory, daughter Lilouty (Iris) Singh of Canada; son Harry Persaud of West Palm Beach; daughter Kavita Mangru of Ft. Lauderdale; son Chris Persaud of Guyana; daughter Sandra Latchmana of Canada; 15 grandchildren; 24 great grandchildren; and 5 great-great grandchildren.

The family will be receiving friends on Saturday, November 16, 2019 from 6:00 pm until 9:00 pm at Dobbs Funeral Home.  A traditional Hindu service will be held on Sunday, November 17, 2019 from 9:00 am until 11:30 am, followed by cremation at Metro Crematory located at 751 Bluford Avenue in Ocoee.

Matthew Steven Dirden

Matthew Steven Dirden of Ocoee, age 27, passed away at his home on Sunday, October 27, 2019 from muscular dystrophy.    He was a lifelong Orlando resident the son of Ronnie and Cheryl Ann (Harker) Dirden, Sr.

Matthew is survived by his father Ronnie of Gorham, Illinois and his brother Ronnie Jr. of Ocoee.  The family will be receiving friends at Dobbs Funeral Home from 11:00 am until 1:00 pm, followed by the funeral service on Monday, November 4, 2019.  Interment will follow the service at Winter Garden Cemetery.

Diana Dawn Harper


Diana Dawn Harper, age 52, of Orlando, passed away on Wednesday, October 30, 2019.  She was born in Ravenna, Ohio, the daughter of Billy and Rosalea (Fitzwater) Harper and was employed as a hair stylist at the Hair Cuttery.


Diana leaves to cherish her memory along with her father Billy of Orlando; daughter Amanda Harper of Altamonte Springs; companion Kenneth Brown of Orlando; sister Juanita Collar of Oceana, West Virginia; brothers David Harper of Apopka, Billy Harper of Mt. Dora and 5 grandchildren.

The family will be receiving friends at Dobbs Funeral Home from 6:00 until 8:00 pm on Wednesday, November 6, 2019.  The funeral service will be held on Thursday, November 7, 2019 at 1:00 pm with Pastor Dexter Johnson officiating at Dobbs Funeral Home, followed by interment at Ocoee Cemetery.
