Diana Marie Baldwin

Diana Marie McDowell Baldwin was born September 20, 1942 in Newark, NJ to parents Helen (Harrington) McDowell and Duncan Peterson McDowell. She passed away on August 7, 2010 at the age of 67 in Orlando, FL. Diana had 2 sisters, Patricia Colburn of Round Rock, TX and Doreen Margaret Smith (deceased) and 5 brothers; Daniel McDowell of Summerfield, FL. Michael McDowell of Safford, AZ, Terry McDowell of Albuquerque, NM, Rodney McDowell of Orlando, FL and Duncan Thomas McDowell (deceased). She met her husband John "Jack" Baldwin through her brother Danny when she was twelve years old. They started dating in June of 1960 and married on May 8, 1961 in Mt. Rainier, MD. Jack was an ice cream truck driver and Diana was a housewife. They raised 7 children; 5 daughters, Beverly Jean Hermann of Chandler, AZ, Shirley Ann Penrod of Fremont, CA, Joann Marie Walton of Orlando, FL, Ginger Diann Baldwin of Orlando, FL, and Billie Jean Baldwin of Maricopa, AZ, and 2 sons, John R. Baldwin and Scott Andrew Baldwin both of Orlando, FL. Mom loved spending time with her 7 children, 22 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

We traveled all over the United States, living in Maryland, Virginia, California, New Mexico, Utah, Colorado, Arizona and Florida. Our family road trips were always full of adventure and there was NEVER a dull moment. You try packing 7 kids in a wood panel station wagon and driving across country! Mom was always there for us when we came home from school with a snack waiting. She helped with our homework and taught us many great lessons in life. The neighborhood kids knew that we had the coolest mom so the house was always full! She was always ready to laugh, have fun and play games such as rummy, aggravation, or hide and seek in the dark. Her and her sister Margie made up a game they called "Dicey Dice." They would sometimes play this game for hours. We will miss her dearly but will go on with our fond memories of all the good times we spent with her. She will forever be in our hearts.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, August 21, 2010 at the Latter Day Saints Chapel in Windermere. 3001 S. Apopka-Vineland Rd, Orlando, FL 32819.
