Charles, Charlie, "Doc" Evans was born August
22, 1925,in Lebanon PA, the only child of Eva and Charles Evans. Charles
married Mary Alyce Anderson, also of Lebanon on June 19, 1948. He is
survived by his two children, Sue Anne Laur, Apopka Florida, his son Charles R.
of Clarcona, his Son-in-law David Laur and his grand-daughter Elizabeth Anne of
Mt. Gretna, PA.
Charlie proudly served his country in the US Navy from 1943-1946, receiving his high school diploma aboard his ship while in the pacific. He has been a member of the Mt. Moriah Masonic Lodge of Maryland for 57 years; he has also been a member of the Bahia Shrine Temple for 37 years as a member of the drum and bugle corps, concert band and the BINGO bunch. Charlie was must proud, however, of his work with the Shriners Crippled Children's hospital in Tampa, Fl.
Charlie moved his young family to Florida in 1956 from Baltimore,
Maryland as a transfer from the Bendix corporation to begin the Martin Marietta
Corporation where he was a Engineering supervisor; he retired from Martin in
1982.
As a young child, under the guidance of his mentor, Harry Moyer,
Charlie became an avid RC model airplane enthusiast. He was a published author
of many articles on RC flying and also had many of his own designs
published. He was always willing to lend a hand to new and young people
interested in flying, returning the guidance he had received so many years
ago. Always willing to try something new, his last adventure was
learning to fly electric-something he thought to be
the "cleaner" way to fly. Charlie lost his battle with cancer on November 15, 2012. He
was loved by his family and will be missed.
The family will be receiving friends at Dobbs Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 21st, 2012 from 10:00 until 11:00 am followed by the service at 11:00 am. Interment will be at Dr. Phillips Cemetery with military honors and a masonic service.

I offer my sincere sympathies for the loss. John 5:28,29 tells us that "the hour is coming in which all those in the memorial tombs will hear his voice and come out...to a resurrection of life." That means one day soon God will bring back to life our loved ones. That is encouraging. Please keep this sure hope in your hearts and minds along with happy and fun memories of Charlie. Your family is in our thoughts.
