Jason began his career in aviation at the Salt Lake International Airport as a member of the ground service.  His first job as a pilot was flying to report weather for a Salt Lake City television station.  He also had a job flying over the Great Salt Lake in order to spot the masses of shrimp for the fishing boats.  For a time, he was also a pilot flying tour groups over the Grand Canyon.

He would later move to the east coast to fly as a commercial pilot where he would meet his future wife Kathleen 18 years ago when they both worked for United Express.  He spent the last 13 years flying for JetBlue Airways, mostly recently as Captain.
