James "Jim" Nathan Gearheart


James "Jim" Nathan Gearheart, age 76 of Orlando went to be wit his Lord and Savior on Monday, October 11, 210. Jim was born in Wavun, Virginia the son of John C. and Mary (Bales) Gearheart Sr. He was employed as a driver for Hennis Freight Lines and a mechanic for Bay Hill Country Club. Jim was a member of Powers Drive Baptist Church and music technician for the church, AARP and Teamsters Local #171. He is pre-deceased by his wife Emma Sue Gearheart, and siblings Jack, Mary, Robert, Charlotte and William Gearheart. he leaves to cherish his memory, daughter Darlene GearheartWade of Brooklyn New York; sons, Nathan Scott Gearheart of Roanoke, Virginia, Todd A. Gearheart and granddaughter Torea Gearheart of Nokomis, Florida; stepchildren Katherine Sue Lavoie of Ocoee, Florida, Belinda Hinkle Crabtree of Witner Garden, Florida, John Richard Hinkle of Ocoee; brother Vernon Eugene Gearheart of Ashford, Connecticut; sisters, Margaret Wyse of Archbold, Ohio, Helen Guthrie and Betty Jo Shockley both of Salem, Virginia; brother John C. Gearheart, Jr. of Floyd, Viriginia; step grandchildren Brittany Hall, Angela Marie Blankenship and Randall Scott Nicely all of Ocoee, Florida, Christina Nicole Hinkle of Winter Garden, Florida; great-grandchildren Jeremy Hinkel and Kayla Ann Hinkle both of Winter Garden, Tanner Blankenship, Alana Blankenship both of Roanoke, Virginia, Aaron Babbit and Maya Carter both of Ocoee, Florida. The family will be receiving friends on Wednesday, October 13, 2010 from 10 to 11 a.m., at Powers Drive Baptist Church. The funeral Service will follow the visitation at 11 a.m. on Wednesday with Pastor Gerald Hicks officiating. Interment will be held at Winter Garden Cemetery. In addition to flowers the family is accepting donations to The American Heart Association.
