Rubye Jane Waters


On October 6th of 1943, Rubye Jane Blocker became the wife of Clarence "Footsie" Waters, their earthly life together lasted over 62 years. They were once again united on October 3rd, 2010 in their heavenly home. as she waked down the street of gold she was met by her parents, Joe and Kate Blocker, her sisters Sadie Jane Blocker, and Rosalie Waters, her brothers, Rex Waldo, Caleb, Lonnie, Wendell, and Gettis Blocker.


Rubye was a housewife, mother, grandmother, sister, and Christian woman. She and her husband help start churches in the Central Florida area. She was a member of The Church of God of Prophecy, where she made quilts for many years and donated them to church and mission projects.


She leaves on this earth to cherish her memory her children and their spouses, Travis and Connie Waters, Orlando, Florida, Hulda and G J Casteel, Winter Garden, Florida, Pam and Mike Clanton, Panama City, Florida, Katie and Sammy bush, Nashville, Tennessee; her grandchildren, Tami Marcum, Jason and Christopher Casteel, Tiffany and Lisa Clanton, Preston and Mary Katelyn Bush; and 5 great-grandchildren; her brothers and wives, Kenneth and Betty Blocker, Glennville, Georgia, Dewight and Betty Blocker, Atlanta, Georgia, Junior Blocker, Columbia, South Carolina. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, family and friends to remember her in their hearts.


The family will be receiving friends at Dobbs Funeral Home on Tuesday, October 5th, 2010 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm., and Wednesday morning October 6th, 2010 from 9:00a - until service time. The funeral service will begin at 10:00 am. Interment will follow the service at Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.
