Alice Arias Campion

Campion, Alice Arias, 87, passed away peacefully surrounded by her children on February 18, 2013.  Alice was born in Tampa, Florida on November 24, 1925.  She graduated Valedictorian of her class from the University of Tampa with a degree in Business Administration.  She was a lifelong, active member of Zeta Tau Alpha sorority.  In 1945, Alice met a young serviceman, Harold Campion, at the USO.  Alice and Harold were married in June 1949 and together, they raised three children.  She had a distinguished 30-year teaching career in the Orange County Public School system where she was instrumental in developing the ESL program.  Alice was active in the Orlando Opera Guild, West Orange Women's Club, Research & Engineering Organization for spouses of Lockheed Martin, and she also volunteered at the Orlando Science Center. She enjoyed playing bridge, gardening, reading, attending opera and symphony and spending time with her family and friends.  Alice is survived by her husband Harold, of 63 years; son Alan Campion, his wife Ellen Blair Smith, and daughters, Blair and Alison, of Austin, Texas; daughter Barbara Campion Lietzke, her husband Keith and daughters, Lauren and Mia, of Newton, Massachusetts; son Neal Campion, of Atlanta, Georgia; sister Yolanda Arias Sparacino, of Brooklyn, New York; and cousin Dr. Doralys Arias, of Heathrow, Florida.  Alice was a loving wife and mother, and devoted friend.  She will be dearly missed and her memory cherished by all who knew her.  In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to a charity of your choice, perhaps honoring her lifelong dedication to education.  A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, February 23, 2013 at Dr. Phillips Cemetery, Apopka-Vineland Road.

I am sorry to hear of the passing of Miss Alice, please accept my sincere condolences. When death strikes, the pain can be devastating, but know that God cares and He will sustain you, during this time of grief.-Psalms 55:22; I Peter 5:7. I hope also, that knowing what Jesus says about the earthly resurrection will bring you some comfort. He tells us that there will be a resurrection when he restores those who have fallen asleep in death, back to eternal life on the future paradise earth.-John 5:28,29;Luke 23:43. Just imagine being reunited with your love one again.-Acts 24:15; John 11:38-44. May God continue to comfort and bless the Campion's Family.-I John 4:8
