Sean Matthew Hawes


Sean Matthew Hawes, 39, passed away at home on Tuesday May 22, 2018. Sean was born on November 21, 1978 in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. He moved with his family and graduated from Virgil Grissom High School, Huntsville AL. From there he went to and graduated from The University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa, AL. Sean returned to Huntsville and subsequently graduated from The University of Alabama, Huntsville, AL., with a BSN degree. After graduation Sean worked at Huntsville Hospital in the Neurological Intensive Care Unit. Sean was also the author and director of implementation for the Huntsville Hospital Stroke Response Program. In 2011, Sean and his best friend, Jonathan Neveu, moved to Altamonte Springs. FL., to start a new chapter in their nursing careers. Sean continued to take masters courses that would lead to receiving an MSN degree and culminate in his receipt of a Doctorate in Nursing. The end goal being a University Teaching position and eventually a tenured Professorship. Sean was the First Grandchild on both sides of the family and was unconditionally loved by all those that met him. He was a unique individual that never said a cross word about anyone, treated everyone the way he wanted to be treated and gave his friendship without conditions or strings attached. A rare person, loving Son, brother, doting uncle, cousin. nephew, teacher and a wonderful human being.

Sean is survived by his father, Samuel R Hawes Jr, mother Jacquelyn M Hawes, Sister Erin (Imran), nephew Aidan, niece Ayla, uncles Donnie, Joe (Cindy), John Curtis (Cindy), aunts Mary (Gary), Lou Ann (Jimmy), Brenda (David), Annette (Bruce), numerous cousins, co-workers and his very best friend Jonathan Neveu and brother Nick.

Funeral arrangements are being handled by Dobbs Funeral Home, 430 N Kirkman Rd., Orlando, 32811, 407-578-7720. Funeral Service is scheduled for Saturday May 26th and will begin with a Visitation from 10:30 to 11:00 with a service to follow at 11:00. All are welcome to attend this Celebration of Sean’s Life. Additional details will be available on Saturday. In Lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital in memory of Sean.

I am sorry for your loss, please accept my sincere condolences.
