Lowell Thomas Boggs, 83, of Ocoee, Florida,
previously of Ashland, died Friday, November 15, 2019, at his home surrounded
by family.
He was born June 17, 1936, in Ashland, the
son of the late Thomas and Pauline Ison Boggs.
He was a retired teacher and school administrator in the Orange
County Public Schools for more than 30 years and a member of the Starke Lake
Baptist Church where he was chairman of the Men’s Ministry and a men’s Sunday
School teacher .
He was a 1955 graduate of Ashland High School and later Eastern Kentucky
Teachers College where he earned his teaching degree. Mr. Boggs also taught
four years in the prison and high school in Chillicothe, Ohio, before moving to
Florida.
Besides his parents he was preceded in death by sisters Allene Little and
Evelyn Daughtery, brother Larry Boggs and sons Pete Condon and Kevin Condon.
Survivors include his wife of 36 years, Pam
Boggs, brother Fred (Alva) Boggs, son Allen (Katie) Boggs and daughters Nancy
(Jim) Schaefer, Kelly (James) Robillard, Kathy Sutherland, Mary (Ralph) Pollard
and Kerry Gerrity, 26 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and a host of
nieces and nephews.
The family will be receiving friends at Starke Lake Baptist Church on Tuesday, November 19, 2019 at 11:00 am, followed by the funeral service at 12:00 pm. Interment will be at Ocoee Cemetery.
