Carla Lyn Ward of Orlando, Florida died peacefully in her home
surrounded by family on Wednesday November 30th, 2022, She was born November
10th, 1952 in Ypsilanit, Michigan to Carl and Mildred Sokolitsky. With
her father being in the military, she was able to travel all over the world,
with Taiwan being one of her favorites. She enjoyed sharing her knowledge of
different cultures with her family. She found and fell in love with Kenneth
Ward, and they were married on December 8, 1972, who survives her in death.
Their love lasted 50 years and was filled with love and many adventures. Carla
leaves behind two daughters, Lauren Eddy of Knoxville, TN along with Katie
Shinew and her husband Jason of Oviedo, FL. She is also survived by three
loving grandchildren Liam Eddy, Jacob Shinew and Victoria Shinew. She lived her
life as a devoted wife, daughter, mother and grandmother. She loved having
everyone over for weekly dinners, and especially watching her grandchildren
swim and spend time with them. Some of her most enjoyable pastimes were
sharing her artistic abilities through painting and drawing, even gifting hand
painted ornaments to her beloved family and friends. She loved providing
a small token of brightness to lives, where they proudly displayed the
ornaments in their homes. She also loved the company of her cat, Ripley, who
could be found curled up in her lap while she talked on the phone or watched
television. She will be missed greatly but she will live on through her
family and her memories.
