Tamara Ann Smoley, “Tami” to all who knew and loved her, peacefully left us surrounded by her brothers, sisters, nieces, nephew, in-laws, and loved ones on Sunday, the 25th of February, 2017. She was employed as a hospice nurse for over 40 years in Central Florida. Tami’s certainty for a better future fueled her courageous battles against her myriad health conditions and were an inspiration to all.
Tami ended this earthly journey to join her parents, John and Jeannine Smoley and nephew Dean New at Florida Hospital Celebration.
Tami is survived by her loving sisters and brothers Kim Peaslee of Glendale, AZ, John Smoley of St. Cloud, FL, Valjean New of Orlando, FL, Michael Smoley of Ocoee, FL; her 11 nieces and nephews.
When her health allowed, she was a supporter and participant in the monthly Lord’s Lunch program provided by Ocoee United Methodist Church at the Christian Service Center. She prepared her signature meals for those in need. Continuing her passion to erase hunger for children and their families, Tami also supported the New Day Program that stocks a food pantry in local schools in low income neighborhoods enabling schools to send home food for families in children’s backpacks.
Tami’s celebration of life will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday March 4, 2017 at Ocoee Oaks United Methodist 201 Clarke Road, Ocoee, FL 34751
In lieu of flowers the family requests donation be made to the New Day Project that provides a food pantry at local schools for children in need. www.newdayproject.org
