Marlene Anne Lease

Marlene Anne Lease, beloved Wife, Mom, Nonnie, Daughter, Sister, Aunt and Friend, passed away peacefully at her new home in Winter Park, FL on April 19, 2022.  She spent the last two weeks of her life surrounded by her family. 

Marlene was born on December 13, 1938 in Janesville, Wisconsin to Olaf and Alvilda Anderson and attended Janesville High School. She met her husband Roy Lease in Milwaukee, they married in 1964 and lived in Milwaukee, WI and then Minnetonka, MN until 1976 when they moved to Jacksonville, FL.  They were married 50 years and had three daughters, Heather, Meredith & Stephanie.  

Marlene went back to college at the age of 40 while raising her children and graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of North Florida with a Bachelor of Education.  She opened Circles of Learning preschool and Kindergarten in Jacksonville with her dear friend Jill Atter, which they operated together for 25 years. Marlene was a devout follower of Jesus and spent her life in service to others.  She was full of joy and loved God, family, friends, animals, music, prosecco, traveling, gardening, boating, the Jacksonville Jaguars and Green Bay Packers.

Marlene is predeceased by her husband Roy Lease, daughter Meredith Lease, brothers David and Robert Anderson and parents. She is survived by her daughters, Stephanie Lease and Heather Alexander Speight (Roy), grandchildren Tonya Long (Cliff), Taylor Glore, Alexandra Speight, Collin Speight and Haley Lease and numerous nieces and nephews. Her celebration of life will be held at Isle of Faith Methodist Church (1821 San Pablo Rd, Jacksonville, FL) on May 27, 2022 at 4:00 pm and a reception will follow.
