Prenul Printemps

Prenul Printemps, age 72, passed away on Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at Health Central in Ocoee.  He was born in Lasille, Haiti the son of Remis and Exzina (Bareau) Printemps and was employed as a tailor.

Prenul leaves to cherish his memory, wife Marie Chichette (Eliscar) Printemps of Orlando; daughters Luna Printemps of Santa Domingo, Mirlene Printemps of Orlando, Wilna Bienaime; brothers Vickel Printemps and Jonas Printemps both of Haiti, Rubin Printemps of Orlando; sisters Evelyn Printemps of Haiti, Denice Cherilus of Orlando; and  grandchildren, se yenica strellita Lesil Printemps, Eliakime Emmanuel Lesil Printemps, Rebeca Achlanka Les Printemps, Ely James Lesil Printemps, Naimah bienaime, Nathan bienaime.

The family will be receiving friends on Friday, July 19th, 2019 at Eben.Ezer Baptist Church located at 3413 N. Pine Hills Rd, Orlando.  Public visitation will be held at the church on Saturday, July 20th, 2019 at 9:00 am, followed by the funeral service at 10:00 am., with Dr. Pierre Antoine Michaud officiating.  Interment will be at Winter Garden Cemetery.

Minnie Lois (Rhinesmith) Koman


Minnie Lois (Rhinesmith) Koman was born to Orlin and Jennie Jane Rhinesmith on March 8th, 1944 in Ringwood, NJ, and was known throughout her life by her middle name, Lois.  The youngest of ten, Lois had a happy youth spent playing with her siblings, riding horses back from the field on her grandfather’s farm, and reading books, particularly ones about horses. As a teen she spent the time she wasn’t in school raising her beloved collie, Lassie, and babysitting nieces and nephews.  A few years after high school, Lois married David Koman of Patterson, NJ.  After moving to Florida, Lois and David had two daughters, Orlinda and Robin.  Lois was a fiercely protective mother who always encouraged her daughters to be independent, and to pursue their education.  Lois was also a loving and devoted grandmother to her three grandchildren:  Alicia, John, and Kailey, and to her great grandson, Samuel, who brought immense joy to the last few years of her life.  When asked what she was proudest of, Lois always spoke of her children and grandchildren.  Lois died on July 2nd, 2019, at the age of 75, of complications of Alzheimer’s.  She is survived by her husband of fifty years, David Koman, her daughters Orlinda Linkins and Robin Koman, and their spouses, Thomas Linkins and Robin Thompson, her grandchildren Alicia, John, Kailey, and Alicia’s partner Rob Rogers, as well as her great grandson, Samuel. She is also survived by her siblings, Margie Hearle, Susan Hearle, Art Rhinesmith, and Orlin Rhinesmith Jr., as well as many nieces and nephews, all of whom she loved very much. Wendy Elizabeth Fagan, age 51, of Port Orange, FL passed away Tuesday, June 25th, 2019 at Halifax Hospital in Daytona Beach, Fl.  She was born in Orlando, the daughter of Nancy Redner Cairns and the late William James Cairns and was a homemaker.  

Wendy leaves to cherish her memory, mother Nancy Redner Cairns of Orlando; husband Jeffrey Fagan of Port Orange; daughter, Leslie May Fagan of Port Orange;  two sisters, Julie Hoffman of Orlando, Suzanne Elliott of Longwood;  two brothers, Michael Cairns of Orlando and Robert Cairns of Sanford. 

A graveside service will be held 9:00 AM on Saturday, July 13th, 2019  at Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Gotha, FL .

Sabina Wahid, age 50, of Orlando, passed away Saturday, July 6th, 2019 at Health Central Hospital in Ocoee.    She was born in Leguan, Guyana,  the daughter of the late Shirley (Sumintra)  and Mohamed  Wahid and was employed as a gardener.  

Sabina leaves to cherish her memory, husband Oodho  Mangar;  two daughters Suvanie Mangar, Patricia Mangar; two sons Eshrie Mangar, Pamesh Mangar, all of Orlando; two sisters, Bibi Chand of Pennsylvania,  Farida Wahid of Ft. Lauderdale; five brothers, Kassim Wahid, Chico Wahid, Bruce Wahid, Karrim Mohamad, all of New York and Asman Murray of Orlando.

A traditional Hindu service will be held from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM on Wednesday, July 10th, 2019 at Dobbs Funeral Home, followed by interment at Metro Crematory in Ocoee.

Michael Clark Canine

Michael Clark Canine
12/22/1938 to 7/4/2019

Born in South Bend, Indiana to Mary Kathryn (Buser) and Carroll Clark Canine.  He graduated from Indiana University, then became an officer in the United States Air Force, serving proudly.  He then worked in sales and management for several newspapers in the Southeast including the Orlando Sentinel.  He later founded Effective Advertising and Specialty Factory.

In his younger days, he enjoyed playing golf and was an avid runner.  He also enjoyed sports car racing and was crew member for National & International Porsche racing teams.  In October of 1992, he married Marie Harper.  They thoroughly enjoyed their 27 years together and always traveling to national parks until his death.  He was an active member of First Baptist Church Orlando, where he served as an usher.

Michael is served by his loving wife Marie, two children, two step children, 2 grandsons, 1 granddaughter and 2 great granddaughters.

A service to celebrate Michael's life is will be held at 11:00 am in the Marie Williams Chapel at First Baptist Church Orlando on Friday, July 12, 2019.


Theresa G. Cones

Theresa G. Cones, age 87, of Orlando,  passed away Tuesday, July 2nd, 2019 at Health Central Park, in Winter Garden,  Florida.  She was born in Boggsrock, West Virginia  the daughter of the late Theresa (Horvath)  and Joseph  ACS.  

Theresa was a homemaker and predeceased by her husband Conrad W. Cones.  She leaves to cherish her memory, 2 children;  one daughter, one son and one son-in-law.  Graveside services will be held at a later date.

Jose Humberto Rodriguez, Sr.

Jose Humberto Rodriguez, Sr. age 74, of Orlando, passed away Wednesday, July 3rd, 2019 at Metro West Nursing Home and Rehab.  He was born in El Salvador, San Salvador,  on May 17, 1945, the son of the late Angelica (Alberto) Rodriguez and was employed as a Certified Public Accountant.  

Jose leaves to cherish his memory, daughter Fatima Rodriguez of Orlando; two sons Jose  Rodriguez, Jr., and  Fernando Rodriguez, both of Jericho, NY;  and 9 grandchildren.  

The family will be receiving friend at 10:00 am on Monday, July 8th, 2019 at Dobbs Funeral Home, followed by the funeral service at 11:00 am with Deacon Spencer Silvers officiating.  Interment will be at Winter Garden Cemetery.

Pauline Sultana Conliffe,  age 91, of Orlando, passed away Monday, July 1st, 2019.  She was born in Georgetown, Guyana, the daughter of the late Frances (Allen)  and David Seymour Conliffe.  

Pauline leaves to cherish her memory, daughter Ruth DaSilva of California;  three sons Anthony Shervington, Mark Shervington, Howell Conliffe all of Orlando; 9 grandchildren;  14 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.  

The family will be receiving friends at 9:00 am on Wednesday, July 3rd, 2019 followed by the funeral service at 10:00 am at Dobbs Funeral Home with Rev. Anthony Shervington officiating.  Interment will follow the funeral service at Winter Garden Cemetery.

Anindrugh Lutchman, age 71, of Orlando, passed away Tuesday, June 25th, 2019 at Advent Health Orlando.  He was born in Bartica, Guyana,  the son of the late Sumintra (Singh)  and Sul  Latchman and was employed as a taxi driver.  

Anindrugh leaves to cherish his memory, wife Ana (Gotay) Lutchman of Orlando; three daughters, Doreen Miranda of Bronx, NY, Annabelle Wright of Bronx, NY, Elizabeth Lutchman of Orlando;  two sons Jitendra Latchman and Frank A. Lutchman, both of Orlando; three sisters, Kamini Latchman, Sursattie Ramnauth, Radica Sooklall, all of Orlando; three brothers, Vishnu Latchman, Narvin Latchman, both of Orlando, Krishna Latchman of Longwood; and 3 grandchildren.

The family will be receiving friends from 6:00 until 9:00 pm on Monday, July 1st, 2019 at Dobbs Funeral Home.  The funeral service will be held from 9:00 am until 11:00 am on Tuesday, July 2nd, 2019 at Dobbs Funeral Home with Pandit Jeet and Deacon Larry Herbert officiating.  Cremation will follow the service at Metro Crematory in Ocoee.

Barbara J. Griffin


Barbara J. Griffin, 88, passed away June 14, 2019.  She was born in Miami, Florida on March 8, 1931.  After the death of her husband of 43 years, Harold C. Griffin, she moved to Abbeville, Louisiana where she lived until returning to Florida in 2017 to live with her daughter, Vicky.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Parker and her brother Donald P. Parker.  She is survived by daughter Diana L. Cortright, son David L. Griffin, daughter Janice L. Griffin, and daughter Vicky A. Westbrook (Garry).  She also leaves four grandchildren and six great- grandchildren.

Barbara was a member of First Baptist Church, Abbeville, Louisiana and the Abbeville General Hospital Volunteers Association, the latter for over 17 years.  She enjoyed sewing, gardening, and playing with her beloved cats, Jet, Tiger, and Timmy.  She will always be remembered as a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, and great- grandmother and friend to many.  Her kindness to all God's creations and welcoming smile will be missed by all who knew her.  

Services will be held on Friday, June 21, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. at Dobbs Funeral Home, 430 N. Kirkman Road, Orlando, Florida with interment immediately following at Dr. Phillips Cemetery,  5398 S. Apopka Vineland Road, Orlando.

Dorothy Agatha Jones

Dorothy Agatha Jones, age 91 of Orlando, passed away at on Sunday, June 9th, 2019 at Advent Health Hospice in Altamonte Springs.   She was born in St. Kitts, West Indies,  the daughter of the late Henrietta (Demming)  and Joseph  Fox and was employed in a factory.  

Dorothy leaves to cherish her memory, daughter Yvette Nisbett of Orlando;  four sons John Dabrio of St. Croix,  Mack Dabrio of St. Kitts, Randolph Fox of England, Curtis Fox of England; 47 grandchildren, numerous great-grandchildren and numerous great-great grandchildren.  


                

                                 

The family will be receiving friends  from 1:00 until 2:00 pm on Friday, June 14th, 2019 followed by the funeral service 2:00 pm at Dobbs Funeral Home.  Interment will be in St. Kitts.

Joseph Cleo Harrison


Joseph Cleo Harrison (90), longtime resident of Orlando/Orlo Vista, Florida, died peacefully late Friday night May 31, 2019. He was born in Coffee County, Alabama on Oct. 17, 1928 to Rochelle and Thomas B. Harrison. He served in the Marine Corp in the late 1940's, and married Leona (2017), his wife of 65 years in 1952. He was an avid outdoors man who loved hunting and fishing. And he was especially proud of the time he was involved with Nascar back when Nascar was first formed. He raced stock cars around Mid Florida and up and down the east coast to as far north as Syracuse, NY when young. He was especially proud of the fact he qualified for and entered the final Nascar race ever held on the old Daytona 'beach course'. His career was in construction, primarily rough to finished carpentry, and at one time he also owned and operated a small site clearing and paving business.

“Joe” is survived by his son Joe Harrison (Bobbie) of Melbourne, daughters Christine Lashley of Ocala National Forrest, and Theresa Swander of Altoona. Grandchildren including Tammy (Bryan) Mashburn, Maria (Jason) Fletcher, Kassie (Tyler) Falcon and great Grandchildren Beau Mashburn, Alani Fletcher, Karleigh Fletcher, and Abby Fletcher.

The family will be receiving friends at Dobbs Funeral Home 430 N. Kirkman Road, Orlando, Florida on June 7, 2019 with viewing starting at 10:00 am, followed by the funeral service at 11:00 am.  Interment will follow the service at Lake Hill Cemetery in Orlo Vista.

Dan McCutchen, age 88, of Peachtree City, GA passed away Monday, May 6th, 2019.   He was born in Central City, Nebraska the son of the late Arta (Hansen)  and Edwin  McCutchen and was employed as an explosives technical rep.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, June 29th, 2019 at First Baptist Church of Windermere in Windermere, FL  with Pastor Ray Lloyd officiating.  Time will be announced later.

John W. Conley, age 69, of Orlando, FL passed away Tuesday, May 7th, 2019 at Advent Health Hospice Care in Altamonte Springs.  He was born in Giessen, Germany the son of the late Gerda (Rebsch)  and Eugene  Conley and was employed as a letter carrier for the U.S. Postal Service.   John served in the US Army and was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church.  

John leaves to cherish his memory wife, Marlene  (Rajkowski) Conley of Orlando; daughter, Jennifer Roberts of Jacksonville; son Jonathan  Conley of Tallahassee; and 2 grandchildren.

Lavonia Faye Praytor

Lavonia Faye Nettles Praytor, age 88, of Winter Garden, FL passed from this world on May 5th, 2019.  She was born in Providence, FL, the daughter of Louis and Ella (Williams) Nettles and was employed in a medical office.  

Lavonia was the youngest of 9 children and is preceded in death by her parents, ex husband Richard Lee Praytor Sr., and all of her siblings.  She leaves to cherish her memory, son Richard Lee Praytor, Jr. of Orlando; daughter-in-law Diana Lynne; two grandchildren, Jacob Lewis and Grace Anne Praytor.   She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.  She will be forever in our hearts.

Lillie Lebron, age 58, of Kissimmee, FL passed away Saturday, April 27th, 2019 at Colonial Lakes Health Rehabilitation Care in Winter Garden. She was born in Brooklyn, NY the daughter of the late Lillian (Aponte)  and Apolinar  Roldan and was employed as a security officer.

Lillie leaves to cherish her memory, three daughters, Tiffany Lebron of Los Angeles, Jackie Duran of Winter Garden, Jennifer Lebron of Orlando;  two sons Michael Torres of Kissimmee, Andrew Torres of Brooklyn;  two sisters Esther Velez of New York,  Denise Torres of New York; four brothers, Robert Aponte of New York,  Ruben Vargas of New York,  Ray Vargas of New York, Paul Roldan of Orlando;  9 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren.

Catherine Dean, age 85, of Orlando, FL passed away Tuesday, April 23rd, 2019.  She was born in Brooklyn, NY, the  daughter of the late Sylvia (Silver)  and Nicholas  Barkowsky and employed as an administrative assistant.

Bhowani Jagmohan, age 25, of Orlando, FL passed away Sunday, April 21st, 2019.   He was born in Georgetown, Guyana, the son of Khmattie (Ramchan)  and Bindraban Jagmohan.  Bhowani worked as a ride technician for a theme park.

Peterdoyah "Kawally" Singh

Peterdoyah Singh, age 79, Ocoee, Florida,  passed away Saturday, April 20th, 2019.  She was born in Arima, Trinidad the daughter of the late Ramoutar and Sookdayah Maharaj.  She was the forth-born out of 12 brothers and sisters.  She would later marry Ramkissoon Lakhan Singh in 1960 and was employed as an assistant technician for a hair salon.

Peterdoyah leaves to cherish her memory Mala of Switzerland, Nisha  of Orlando and Shasty Singh of Miami and two grandsons Vimal and Vijay.

A traditional Hindu service will be held from 9:00 until 11:00 am on Wednesday, April 24, 2019 at Dobbs Funeral Home, followed by interment at Metro Crematory located at 751 Bluford Avenue in Ocoee.

Marcella Marie Martin


Marcella Marie Martin, age 87 of Orlando, passed away on Saturday, April 6, 2019.  She was born in Thorp, Wisconsin the daughter of the late George H. and Kathryn (Chaplinski) Hansen.  She was employed as a library aide in the elementary school system.

Marcella is preceded in death by her husband Frank, son Terence Martin of Orlando; brother George Hansen of Salem, Wisconsin and leaves to cherish her memory, daughters Catherine Harrahill of Leesburg, Rebecca Shannon of Altamonte Springs, Holly Schumann of Orlando, Monica Ballard of Ocoee; sons Frank S. Martin of Hudson, FL, Jonathan Martin of Orlando; sisters Adeline Zobrack of MIlwaukee, Wisconsin, Karen Sommer of Missoula, Montana, Delores Kubera of Kansasville, Wisconsin; brothers Robert Hansen of Woodruff, Wisconsin and Ronald Hansen of Superior, Wisconsin; 18 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. 

A funeral mass will be held at St. Andrew Catholic Church on Saturday, April 13, 2019 at 10:00 am located at 801 N. Hastings, Orlando.

William R. Boyd


William R. Boyd, 75 of Orlando, Florida, passed away on Saturday, March 30, 2019 surrounded by his loving family and friends.

Born in Pittsburgh, Bill was the son of the late David and Irene Boyd. He served as a crew chief in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War. During his service, he was stationed in Germany and was awarded medals for outstanding unit and good conduct. His love for airplanes and flying lead him to his career at Pan Am airlines for 25 years. Bill enjoyed traveling and exploring the world and gained extensive knowledge of the world and its rich history through his many travel experiences.  He was a sports enthusiast and adored the Miami Dolphins, the University of Miami football team and the Miami Marlins. He also loved golf and in retirement spent much of his time on the course perfecting his game.   

Bill will be remembered as the loving husband to Maureen (Costello) Boyd for 31 years, and the caring father to his children, William Boyd Jr. (Arizona), Kayleen Boyd (Orlando), and Christian Boyd (Orlando). He is loved and will be greatly missed by his sister Margaret Greathouse (California), and his mother and father-in law, (Nancy McAdams and Ray Mathieu), as well the rest of his extended family.

A celebration of Bill’s life will take place on Thursday, April 11, 2019 from 6 pm to 8 pm at:

MetroWest Golf Club, 2100 S. Hiawassee Road, Orlando, FL 32835.

Family will receive guests from 6 pm to 6:30 pm with a service and military honors presentation to begin at 6:30 pm followed by a reception.

Catherine Linton Gorman

Catherine Linton Gorman, 67, of Apopka, FL passed away March 15, 2019 at the AdventHealth Hospital, Altamonte Springs, Florida.  Catherine (Cathy) was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Gorman and her parents, Margee (Bowden) and Maurice S. Linton.

Cathy was born December 1951 in Fort Bragg, North Carolina. She is survived by sister, Nansue L. (Ron) Cowan of Athens, Alabama; brother, Maurice S. (Diane) Linton II of Altamonte Springs; brother, Michael Larue Linton of Altamonte Springs; brother, Lenny Okrie of Seattle, Washington; aunt, Martha Connolly-Bridges of Ocoee;  mother-in-law, Harriett S. Gonzalez; father-n-law, Pablo Fred Gonzalez of Tallahassee; 5 nieces; 4 nephews; 4 grand-nieces;  3 grand-nephews and many cousins.

Growing up in army family, Cathy lived in Kentucky, Florida, Germany and back to Fort Bragg until her father’s retirement in 1963 before returning to Orlando. She graduated from Maynard Evans High School and began her first job at Disney World.  She then worked for AAA of Orlando as a travel agent and consultant for over 11 years.  Through her job she was able to travel the world.  After AAA, Cathy worked as a payroll analyst and special projects coordinator for Harcourt Brace Jovanovich Inc. in Orlando for 12 years.  She worked various other jobs until her retirement due to health issues.   

Cathy was very active with her parents in the 503rd Parachute RCT Association World War II for many years.  She was a long-time member of the Apopka Elks Lodge 2422.  One of great pleasures was cooking.  And she was a good cook.  Everyone loved her banana pudding and creamed corn. 

A gathering of friends and family in celebration of her life is being planned for later this summer.

Jonathan Aaron Brannen

Jonathan Aaron Brannen, "Aaron" age 41, of Orlando, passed away Friday, March 29th, 2019 at Health Central Hospital in Ocoee. Aaron, also affectionately referred to as "Frogleggs" by his friends, was born  in Orlando, to his parents John and Patricia Brannen. 

He is preceded in death by his mother, father, and his niece, Nikki.  He leaves to cherish his memory, wife Mercedes of Orlando; his children Grayson Brannen and Elise Brannen both of Winter Springs,  sisters Lisa, Kimberley, and Julie; 3 nieces, 4 nephews, 4 great nieces and 1 great nephew. Aaron was a dear friend to those he worked with at Lowe's.

A memorial service will be held at 5:30 PM on Thursday, April 4th, 2019 at New Inspiration Missionary Baptist Church, located at 617 South Lakeview Avenue in Winter Garden, FL with Rev. Bill Robinson officiating.   He was deeply loved.

Amalia Shivana Narine

Amalia Shivana Narine, age 24 of Winter Springs, passed away on March 26, 2019.  She was born in New York, NY the daughter of Marlon and Mahadaie (Ramdath) Narine and was was employed in sales for a computer company.  

Amalia leaves to cherish her memory father, Marlon Narine of New York, mother Annie Byragie and; stepfather Pandit Byragie of Winter Springs; sister Derian  Dandra of Brooklyn, NY and many other relatives and friends.

A traditional Hindu service will be held on Tuesday, April 2, 2019 from 9:00 am until 11:30 am at Dobbs Funeral Home, followed by the cremation at Metro Crematory located at 750 Bluford Avenue in Ocoee.

Maria L. Provine

Maria L. Provine, age 56, of Casselberry, FL passed away Thursday, March 28th, 2019.   She was born in Honduras,  the daughter of the late Maria (Parma)  and Leonardo  Licona and employed as a CNA in the health profession.  

Maria is preceded in death by her brother Mario Parma (2016) and leaves to cherish her memory husband Robert Provine of Casselberry; sister Gracie Licona of Orlando; two brothers Danny  Licona, of Orlando and Leonardo Licona of Pittsburgh.

The family will be receiving friends on Saturday, March 30, 2019 from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm, followed by the funeral service at 3:00 pm in the Henry Chapel of First Baptist Church of Orlando with Pastor Jeff Thompson officiating.

Enoch James Dollison

Enoch James Dollison, age 23,  of Windermere, passed away on March 20, 2019.  He was a lifelong Florida resident born in Orlando to Frank and Margaret (Peacock Dollison.  Enoch was a student. and is survived by his parents of Windermere; step brother Eric Dollison of California and step sister Valerie Dollison of Washington DC.

The family will be receiving friends at 12:00 pm, followed by the funeral service at 1:00 pm on Thursday, March 28, 2019 in the Henry Chapel at First Baptist Church of Orlando.  Interment will follow the funeral service at Winter Garden Cemetery.

Marcia Viola Headley

Marcia Viola Nurse Headley, 72, of Orlando Florida was called home to be with the Lord on Thursday March 7, 2019, surrounded by her loved ones.

Born in the former Canal Zone, Republic of Panama, on January 5, 1947, she was the fifth daughter of the late Clifford A. Nurse and the late Rebecca Nurse Eastman.

She was educated in the Canal Zone schools and graduated from Paraiso High School in 1965. She migrated to the United States in 1967, where she resided in Queens Village New York. On July 17, 1967, she married James Headley and from that union they had four children.

She relocated to Orlando Florida in the late 80’s and was a communicant of St. Andrews Catholic Church where she sang in the choir.  She was an active member of the Caribbean Association and instrumental in establishing the annual Caribbean Carnival Celebration in Orlando and designed and created costumes for La Caribe band.  She held an annual school supply drive and Christmas Toy Drive for the children of the community.

Marcia was a Seamstress, an Interior Decorator, Wedding Planner who designed and created wedding gowns. She designed and created costumes from school and church plays. She loved to travel, entertain, cook, and cater for parties. She was dedicated mother and grandmother not only to her biological children but also to several others who she adopted as hers. The best way to describe her was that she was “Larger than Life” or “The Life of the Party”, when she walked into a room it lit up, a true Diva.

Pre-deceased by her son, Bryan Headley, her husband, James Headley, two sisters, Janice Parrish, and Norma Gordon. She is survived by three children, Marilyn Headley Petty, Derrick Headley, both of Orlando FL, Jennifer Pruden (spouse Scott) of Tallahassee, FL; five grandsons, Jamal Headley, Joshua Petty, Jameson Petty, Knox Pruden II, Samuel Pruden and one granddaughter Rebecca Pruden; five sisters, Diana Nurse of Panama, Leona Nurse of Chapel Hill NC, Doris Couloote of Springfield, MA, Patricia Bennett of Charlottesville, VA,  Yvette Nurse-Parrish (spouse Larry) of Chapel Hill NC; two brothers, Clifford Nurse (spouse Susan) of Springfield MA, and Guillermo Nurse (spouse Kirsa) of Oxford NC, two aunts Rita McCormack of Virginia Beach VA, and Rosa Eastman of Winter Garden, FL, one uncle Joseph Zulvalgo of Panama. She leaves a host of nephews, nieces, cousins and friends to cherish her memory.

Visitation was held at 11:30a , followed by the Funeral Mass at 12:30 pm at St. Andrew Catholic Church on Friday, March 15, 2019 with Father Bill Gorhing officiating.

Alma A. Redman

Alma A. Redman was born on August 12, 1937 to loving parents Ira Sobers and Fredean Agard.  She was the first girl of 13 children of which 4 survived.  She attended school in Barbados, finishing High School and going on to Secondary School of shorthand and typing, while continuing her skills of sewing.  She married Neville Redman and became the mother of two children, Junior and Juanne.

Alma migrated to Canada in 1965 and remained there for 4 years.  She moved to the United States in 1970 where she worked as a domestic servant.  She relocated to New York City and began work at New York Hospital as a Diet Aide.  Alma later moved to Florida in 1988 and worked at Florida Hospital in the food service department as a Diet Aide until she retired at age 65 in 2002.

In 1989, Alma joined Central Church of God and was an active member for over 30 years.  She was a member of the choir, served as a Sunday School Assistant, Treasurer, was a member of the Prison Ministry, Prayer Ministry to name a few and was ordained as a Deacon.  She dedicated herself to the service of the church by chauffeuring others to and from church and other venues until she became extremely ill.  Everyone knew Alma as a fighter and said that she had nine lives, like a cat, except Alma had 999 lives.

On March 2, 2019, Ms. Alma left this world around 9:45 am at Health Central Hospital.  She leaves behind her son, Junior; daughter Juanne; son-in-law Junior Hall; sisters Elsie and Evadney; grandchildren Nichele and Jovon; great grandchild Carlos; nieces Gail, Tanya and Wendy;  nephews Tyrone, Antonne (Andrew), Chris, Andrew, David, Curtis, and Nigel; deceased brother Clyde; lots of cousins and a host of relatives and friends.  She will be greatly missed.

The family will be receiving friends from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at Dobbs Funeral Home on Friday, March 8, 2019.  The funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm at Faith Cathedral Deliverance Center, located at 4425 N. Powers Drive, Orlando on Saturday, March 9, 2019.  Interment will follow the service at Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.

Markel Ray Noah

Markel Ray Noah, age 62, of Groveland, FL passed away Friday, March 1st, 2019. 

Mark was born in Montgomery, Alabama on April 25, 1956. He retired from the Florida Highway Patrol, Troop K, after 25 ½ years of dedicated service. Mark was an active member and children’s Sunday School teacher with his wife, Joy, for many years at their home church, Church at the Cross.

Mark was preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Myrtle Eloise Porter, his brother, Mike Noah, and parents Earl Noah and Janice Noah.

Mark is survived by his beloved wife of 37 ½ years, Joy Noah; his children, Nikki and Griffin Bird, Kristi and Caleb Collins, and Luke Noah; grandson, Noah Jonathan; and grandson-to-be, Porter Silas. Mark is also survived by his sister, Lynn Pomas; brother, Tony (Cheryl) Noah; father-in-law Paul (Anita) Porter; aunt, Dean Marlow; aunt, Verona (Larry) DeLoach; sisters-in-law, Barbara Noah, Lisa (Stan) Nusbickel, Toni (Rick) Nicalek, Jan Brown; brother-in-law, Rick Porter. Along with numerous beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Please join his family in a Celebration of Mark’s Life on Saturday, March 9th, 2019, at Church at the Cross, located at 700 Good Homes Boulevard, Orlando with Pastor Clayton Cloer officiating.
The family will begin receiving friends at 9:30 am, followed by a celebration ceremony at 11:00 am. Interment to follow the ceremony at Winter Garden Cemetery, located at 13636 Lake Butler Boulevard, Winter Garden with Reverend David Shofner officiating. After interment, family and friends are invited to share their favorite memories of Mark during a light reception at Church at the Cross.

Desiree Ali

Desiree Ali, age 55, passed away on Monday, February 25, 2019 at Health Central Hospital.  She was born in Georgetown, Guyana, the daughter of Harry and Beryl (Rampaud) Persaud.  She was employed as a teacher in the school system.

Desiree leaves to cherish her memory, husband Farouk Ali of Orlando; daughters Shameeza Embroy of Deltona; Shazeela Ali, Fazeela Ali, Nafeeza Ali all of Orlando; and 5 grandchildren.  

The family will be receiving friends at Dobbs Funeral Home from 9:30 until 10:30 am on Friday, March 1,2019.   The funeral Mass will be held at St. Andrew Catholic Church at 11:00 am. with Father Leo Hodges officiating.

Richard Joseph Laur

Richard Joseph Laur, age 93, of Orlando, passed away Sunday, February 17th, 2019 at Health Central Hospital in Ocoee,  Richard was born in Baltimore, MD,  son of the late Lena (Potthast)  and Richard A. Laur.  He retired from the U.S. Air Force .

Richard leaves to cherish his memory, two daughters Mary Paulus  and Carolyn Iannone, both of Apopka; five sons Richard Laur, II, of Gotha; Steven Laur, of Merrit Island; David Laur, of Apopka; Michael Laur, of Altamonte Springs; Robert Laur, of Longwood;  20 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.

The family will be receiving friends on Thursday, February 21, 2019 at Dobbs Funeral Home from 7:00 until 9:00 pm.  The funeral mass will be held on Friday, February 22, 2019 at St. Andrew Catholic Church at 10:00 am with Father Leo Hodges officiating.  Interment will follow the mass at Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery.

Joyce Dolores McGregor


Joyce Dolores McGregor passed away on Friday, February 15, 2019 at 4:20 pm in Orlando, Florida. Joyce was born on November 22, 1939 to the late Lurlean Louisa McKinney and Ivan White in Guabito, Panama. She was the eldest child of three and known to her siblings and friends as “Cutie”.

In 1960, Joyce arrived in New York where she began her career in healthcare. She was married in 1965 and had three daughters, Denise, Maxine, and Antonette. The family moved to Florida in the mid 70’s where she found a rewarding career in childcare. In Florida, Joyce positively impacted the lives of many with her kindness and loving spirit. She was an active member of Abundant Life Church, a business owner, director of a preschool in Orlando, and was determined to get her high school diploma, which she achieved at the age of 70.

God guided Joyce home to be with Him where she will no longer have pain and suffering. We are so blessed and honored to have had her in our lives and she will live eternally in our hearts. Joyce was born on Thanksgiving and passed away around a holiday of love. She is predeceased by her daughter, Denise (2012), and her brother, Enrique (2018). She is survived by her daughters, Maxine and Antonette, granddaughters, Nicole, Kayla, and Meagan, great-granddaughters, Aaliyah and A’Lani, her sister, Shirley, and a host of nieces, cousins, and other relatives and sorrowing friends. Rest In Peace.

The family will be receiving friends from 3:00 until 4:00 pm on Thursday, February 21, 2019 at Dobbs Funeral Home.  The funeral service will follow at 4:30 pm with Reverend Craig Daugherty officiating.

Charles Milward Nash


Charles Milward Nash passed away Thursday, February 14, 2019. He was a loving husband, devoted father, grandfather and caring friend to all who knew him. Charlie was born in Geneva, Alabama on August 31, 1926, to the late Lee Hayes Nash and Wilkie Register Nash. He is preceded in death by Mary Louise Nash, his loving wife of 58 wonderful years. He was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Jacksonville. Charlie is survived by his son William (Edna) Nash; daughter Mary (Cliff) Shepard; son Lee Nash; grandchildren Tyler Shepard, Morgan (Bryan) Traficante, and Spencer Shepard; cousin Sylvia Bruce Stone; brother-in-law Ray Wagner; sister-in-law Nancy Jones and many nieces and nephews. The funeral will be a graveside service conducted by Rev. Russell T. Belcher at 12:30 p.m. on Monday, February 18, 2019, at Woodlawn Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 400 Woodlawn Cemetery Road, Gotha, FL 34734. The route to the gravesite will be marked with signs upon entering the cemetery property at the main entrance.
