Thomas M. Cronin

Thomas M. Cronin, 51, of Orlando, Florida died at the Orlando Regional Hospital unexpectedly on June 30, 2014. He was born in Boston, Massachusetts and was the son of Thomas P. Cronin and Marjorie (Hatch) Connolly.  Tom lived in Providence, Rhode Island for twenty years and Orlando, Florida for nine years. He was the companion of Susan J. Harrison for fourteen years.   He held a Masters of Business Administration from Northeastern University was an air force pilot for many years and was Assistant Director of Training for Henkel’s and McCoy. He also worked for Mears Transportation Services in Orlando, Fl. Tom was also a Mason for many years.

He will be buried in Marshfield Hills Cemetery in Marshfield, MA with a graveside ceremony on Wednesday July 16th at 1pm.

Clarence Randolph James Sr.

Clarence Randolph James Sr., age 81, of Winter Garden, FL passed away Saturday, July 5th, 2014.  Clarence was born in Muir, KY, the son of the late Ora B. (Winn)  and Elmer F. James.  He retired from  the U.S. Air Force as a Dental Technician and had a distinguished career. He moved to Central Florida from Las Vegas in 2012.

 

Clarence leaves to cherish his memory, wife Jannie  (Robinson)  James; five daughters, Jackie B Nelson, of Virginia Beach, VA, Deborah Curry of Orlando, Latricia Curry of Atlanta, GA, Terri Burns of Orlando, Latoya Clarke of Orlando; three sons Clarence R James Jr., of Las Vegas, NV,  Raymond James of Las Vegas, NV,  Larry Curry of Orlando;  sisters Mary Emma Moore, Lee Eddins;  22 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild.

 

A memorial service will be held at Dobbs Funeral Home at 11:00 am on Thursday, July 10th, 2014 with Pastor Larry Curry officiating.  Interment will be held at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL at a later date.

Samuel Parker, III

Samuel Parker, III, age 61, passed away on Friday, June 20^th at Select Specialty Hospital in Orlando, Florida. On January 6, 1953, he was born in Pensacola, Florida at Our Lady of Angels hospital to (deceased) Sam Parker, Jr. and (deceased) Lula Mae Parker. He attended grade school and eventually graduated from Booker T. Washington High School with high honors. After graduating he went into the military and used his excellent skills of writing and organization to become a yeoman who made official entries into military personal records. In his time there, 10 years were spent in fleet reserve and he was given awards such as the Southwest Asia Service Medal, Kuwait Liberation Medal, and two National Defense Service Medals. He spent 21 years on active duty in the Navy serving his country and was honorably discharged. There he achieved getting his Associates of Arts degree. During his military years, he was stationed in Subic Bay where he met his wife Vilma. Thereafter, they married in San Diego, California and had three children together. After he retired, the family moved to the Central Florida area. In his last year of the military he became a published author, writing “Enchanted Dream,” which became published in the National Library of Poetry. He is survived by his wife Vilma Parker, oldest son Shawn Parker, only daughter Crystal Parker, and youngest son Eugene Parker. He is also survived by his five sisters Ella Ruth Parker, Oranetta Mays, Geraldine Jenkins, Audie Clemons, and Deborah Young, and a host of many other relatives and friends.

 

Visitation and service will be held Friday, June 27, 2014 at Dobbs Funeral Home from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM. The burial service will take place on the same day at 1:30 PM at the National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida.

Michel Jacquelin Camy

Mr. Michel Jacquelin Camy was born on November 10^th 1934 and passed away on June 2^nd 2014. He was the son of Lamarre Camy and Christialia Jn Charles who are also deceased. He attended middle school in a religious school in Fort Liberte, and attended high school at Philippe Guerrier. He was a father of 4, 3 Men which are Jose Camy, Michel James Camy, Sergo Camy and a Woman which is Jasmine Camy. He was also a Grandfather of 12, he had 3 brothers Rodolph Camy, Michel Henry Camy, Gary Camy and 4 Sisters Philomene Seide, Allette Seide, Jocelyne Seide, Huguette Camy, Mr. Michel Jacquelin  was a hardworking man, He worked for Chrystal Water Company for over 20 years. He was a role model, he was a servant of God who had extreme Faith.

Eleuterio Federico

Eleuterio Federico, age 91, of Orlando passed away Tuesday, June 17th, 2014.   Eleuterio was born in Providence, RI, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph  Federico.  He served in the U.S. Army, was employed as a military civilian radio repairman and was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church Orlando, FL .

 

He is preceded in death by wife Esther Federico (11/6/2011) and leaves to cherish his memory son Dr. Thomas (Elaine) Federico of Canton, GA; daughter, Juliane (Allen) Byrd, of Clermont, FL; brother Anthony Federico of Rhode Island; 6 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild.

 

The family will be receiving friends at Dobbs Funeral Home on Sunday, June 22, 2014 from 4:00 until 6:00 pm.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at at Holy Family Catholic Church, Orlando, FL, at 11:00 am on Monday, June 23rd, 2014 with Father Justin Vakko officiating, followed by interment at Woodlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. 

Michel Camy

Michel Jacquelin Camy, age 79, of Winter Garden, FLpassed away Monday, June 2nd, 2014 at Health Central Hospital in Ocoee.  Michel was born in Fort Liberte Haiti,  the son of the late Chrisilia Jean (Charles)  and Lamar  Camy.   He was a member of Church of God of Prophecy Orlando, and was employed in the grocery industry. 

Michel  was preceded in death by his wife and

is  survived by daughter, Jasmine Camy of Spring Valley, New York.  Funeral Services are pending.

Fernando Rodriguez

On June 10, 2014 at the start of dawn, Fernando Rodriguez was called home to be with his Lord and Savior.  Born on April 30, 1971 in Aquas Buena, Puerto Rico,  and raised in Orlando,  he attended grammar, junior high and high school.  He was a member of the NJROTC.  In 1991 he went on to graduate from Oak Ridge High School and later enrolled and graduated with honors with a degree in medical assisting from Everest university in May of 2010. 

 

Fernando lived a full and free life.  he enjoyed the sport of football as he would root for his beloved Florida State Seminoles.  He had a passion for mechanics, and would give the most awesome oil changes.  He could also change a mean tire but most importantly he loved being a father. 

 

Fernando was preceded in death by his older brother Nicolas Rodriguez Jr. and leaves to cherish his memory, wife Callie (Meadows) Rodriguez of Orlando; parents Nicolas and Frances Rodriguez of Auburndale; sisters Carmen Dort, Gladys (Richard) Foster and Frances R. Rodriguez all of Orlando; sister by Christ Sandra "Candy" Charles of Brooklyn, New York; brother Jerry Rodriguez of Clermont and his only and beloved daughter Tabitha Carmen Rodriguez of Orlando; step children Shauna & Thomas, with a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family and friends.

 

The visitation and service will be held at Dobbs Funeral Home on Friday, June 13, 2014 from 4:30 until 7:00 pm.

Robert Wayne Surrency, Jr.

Robert Wayne Surrency Jr., age 54, of Orlando, passed away Monday, June 9th, at Consulate Health Care Nursing Home, Altamonte Springs, Seminole County.   Robert was born in Jacksonville, FL the son of  Carolyne (Garrett)  and Robert  Surrency, Sr.  He served in the  US Army and was employed as a manager for temporary services. 

 

Robert leaves to cherish his memory, wife Irish Welch-Surrency; son Damien Surrency; two daughters, Aaliyah Surrency, Ashleigh Surrency all of Orlando; sister Stacie (Stuart) Darden and niece Cassie Darden both of Jacksonville.

 

The family will be receiving friends on at Dobbs Funeral Home on Thursday, June 12th, 2014 from 5:00 until 7:00 pm.  The funeral service will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, June 13th,  with Pastor Thomas Hensley officiating.

Nancylee Havre

Nancylee Havre, 86, passed away June 4, 2014.  Born in Ravenna to Wilbert "Jack" and Edna Quillen, Nancy had lived in Ravenna for 57 years.  After graduating from Ravenna High School,  she attended Dyke-Spencerian Business School in Cleveland, then Ohio Weslyan where she met her husband whom she married in 1947.
 

From childhood on, Nancylee was an avid Cleveland Browns and Cleveland Indians fan.  While living in Ohio, she was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Ravenna, Sarah Circle, Tri-Sorosis and Iva Austin Garden Club before moving to Orlando, Florida in 1985.  In Orlando, she enjoyed playing bridge with her  friends.  She was a member of St. Luke's United Methodist Church, Prayer Circle, Sara Circle, Kol Avah Bible Class, St. Luke's Quilters Group (16 years) and knitted newborn caps for the Winnie Palmer Hospital for Mothers and Babies.

Nancylee is survived by husband, Lee ;  children, Pamela, Trey, Deborah and Geoffrey;  eight grandchildren and sister, Kathryn Anderson of Paso Robles, California. 

There will be a private, family-only memorial service.  Memorial donations may be made Shepherd's Hope (www.shepherdshope.org)  which provides free medical care to low income, uninsured. 

 

 

William Joseph Ulmer

William Joseph Ulmer, 80, went to be with our Lord on June 5th, 2014.  Born Dec. 4, 1933 in Walterboro, SC., Bill served in the Air Force during the Korean War, after which he married Julia Garvin in 1956.  They made a loving home in the Orlando area and were blessed with three children.  Bill had a staunch work ethic and worked as a delivery driver and enjoyed operating a small tree nursery with his wife.  A faithful member of Little Zion Primitive Baptist Church in Davenport, Fl., Bill served God eagerly and shared a great love for the Lord's people.
 

Bill is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Julia, Orlando; Brothers, Jerry (Cindy), Leland NC., Joe (Bunky), Columbia, SC.; sisters, Wilma Ulmer, Walterboro, SC., Jennie Muchenfuss, Yulee, Fl.; sons, Wendell (Kathy), Apopka, Michael (Leanna), Orlando; and daughter, Rebecca Roberts (Rodney), Apopka, nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.  

 

Services will be held at Orange Primitive Baptist Church at 3512 Clarcona Rd., Apopka, Fl. on Monday, 6/9/2014.  Viewing will begin at 9:30am with funeral at 10:30am. Graveside service to follow at Lake Hill Cemetery in Orla Vista. Services will be conducted by Elder Mark Nunley, pastor.

Grace Marilyn Warfield

Grace Marilyn Warfield passed away Sunday, June 1, 2014 at her home in Orlando after a lifelong  struggle with Acute Intermittent Porphyria.  Grace was born April 14, 1970 in LaGrange, Illinois, a suburb of Chicago.  Grace was Miss LaGrange in 1986 and being a talented and avid baton twirler all through school, was named Miss Twirl in 1991.  Grace started her modeling career in high school with John Casablancas.  Grace moved to Orlando in 1992.  She played Pluto at Disney and was a member of the project team that built the Tree of Life at Animal Kingdom.  Grace was a spokesperson for the American Porphyria Foundation and organized several fundraisers. 

Grace is survived by her parents, Robert and Rose Mary Warfield, sisters, Leann Warfield Brezinsky and Beverly Boesch, brother, Robert C. Warfield, brother-in-law, Jerome Brezinsky, three nephews, Joshua Boesch, Robert A. Warfield and William Warfield, and her beloved Yorkies, Teddy and Scooter. 

A Mass and memorial service will be held on June 14, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Dobbs Funeral Home, 430 N. Kirkman Road, Orlando, FL 32811.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Porphyria Foundation, 4900 Woodway Drive, Suite 780, Houston, TX 77056.


 

Anita Ruth Milford

Anita Ruth Milford, age 59 of  Winter Garden, FL passed away Friday, May 30th, at Tavares Hospice House,.   Tavares,  County.   Anita was born in Beckley, WV the daughter of the late Nannie Ruth (Kaiser)  and Edward Ellsworth Toney.  She was employed as a waitress. 

 

Anita is predeceased by  son Daniel Milford (2006) and leaves to cherish her memory, husband Steven Charles Milford of Orlando; three daughters  Pamela Grathwohl of Winter Garden, Tammy Perrigo of Louisville, TX, Vicky Carter of Winter Garden; 6 grandchildren, 3 step grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren and 5 step-great grandchildren.

 

A Memorial Service was held at Dobbs Funeral Home at 6:00 pm on Monday, June 2nd, 2014 with Rev. George Hobbs officiating.

Marvin R. Hunt

Marvin R. Hunt, 79, of Clermont, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday, May 23, 2014. He was born in Dayton, Ohio where he graduated from John Patterson Cooperative High School in 1954. He met the love of his life, Hilda, while in high school and married her on September 4, 1954. He was employed by NCR as a mechanical engineer. They moved to Orlando, Florida in 1973 with their 3 children. He was a devoted Christian husband, father and grandfather who loved to laugh and joke around. He was actively involved in church ministries until his health started to fail, he led music, helped to start a mission in Ohio, was a deacon, was on the tech crew, as well as many committees.  He was a member of First Baptist Church of Orlando.

He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Hilda; son David  (Deborah); daughters Betsy (Brent) Monk and Christa (Danny) Icenhour; brother Glenn (Voddie) Hunt of Bellbrook, Ohio; sister Jean Powell of Germantown, Ohio; seven grandchildren, Adam (Liz) Hunt, Matthew Hunt, Andrew Monk, Samantha Puryear, Michael Monk and Tori Puryear.

Dolores Marie (Trudel) Jodoin

Dolores Marie (Trudel) Jodoin was born to Louis and Margaret (Daley) Trudel of Lowell, MA in 1935, the seventh of eight children. She grew up in Lowell and graduated from Lowell High School. She met the love of her life, Arthur Jodoin, at the “Polish Club” in 1959 and they were married in 1960. They recently celebrated their 54th anniversary. Above all else, Dolores loved being Arthur’s partner and the mother of four daughters – Michelle, Susan, Karen and Denise. She also adored being grandmother to ten grandchildren. Arthur’s work as a textile engineer and plant manger brought them to many locations and so they made homes in Andover, MA; Dublin, GA; Augusta, ME; Winthrop, ME; Dexter, ME, and Poland, ME. They recently moved to Ocoee, FL to be closer to daughter Sue as Dolores’ health declined.

 Dolores loved to be with her family. She and Arthur enjoyed traveling the world and visiting places like Brazil, Europe, Hawaii, Mexico and Costa Rica. She even journeyed to China for the adoption of her granddaughter, Kia. There wasn’t much she wouldn’t try and she could be spotted doing anything from chopping wood to riding a zip line in the rain forest. She had a mischievous side and loved to give people “the business” and play practical jokes. An early fitness and health enthusiast, she was an avid walker and exerciser dating back to the Jane Fonda and Richard Simmons days. She loved the ocean and collecting shells and sea glass and digging for clams. Her Maine grandchildren remember fondly getting picked up from daycare by Mimi in her red sports car. Never one to be predictable, she loved to “keep everyone guessing” and to be creative. She sewed all her children’s clothes when they were young and also enjoyed hooking rugs, ceramics, gardening, pickling and baking.  

Dolores had great intuition and an uncanny ability to figure people out quickly. She had a big heart and enjoyed working as a nurse’s aide in several nursing homes and hospitals caring for the elderly and terminally ill. Unfortunately, all her good habits could not stay the run of bad luck she experienced, and her health steadily declined. Her loving husband Arthur was her full time caregiver for the last eight years and he took extraordinarily good care of her until her death on May 21st in her home surrounded by family. She lived as she died, showing grit, grace and strength. Her legacy of hard work, determination, compassion and fun will live on in her children and grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her sisters Helen Priske, Regina Connors , Dorothy Harrison, Lorraine Sullivan, and her brother Raymond Trudel. She is survived by her devoted husband Arthur, her daughter Susan Lawler and her husband Tom and children Kia, Erik and Kyle; her daughter Michelle LaFond and her husband Peter and children Elyse, Emily and Michael; her daughter Denise Gaidis and her husband Mike and children Erin and Alex and her daughter Karen Jodoin and her partner Betsy Dinger and children Jack and Matthew. She is also survived by her sister Joan Donnelly and her husband Robert of Dracut and her brother Adelard “Tub” Trudel and his wife Germaine of Lowell, and many nieces and nephews.

The family will have a private burial and lay her to rest in her favorite spot in Poland, Maine looking across Tripp Lake and Mount Washington

Jacqueline Joy Smith

Jacqueline Joy Smith,  age 74, of passed away Tuesday, April 8th, 2014 at VITAS Hospice at Quality Care, Winter Garden, Orange County, FL.   Jacqueline was born in Omaha, Nebraska the daughter of the late Gwendolyn (Joy)  and Frank  Williams and was employed as a Para Professional Teachers Aide.

 

Jacqueline leaves to cherish her memory, two sons Brian Smith, and Bruce Smith, Jr.,  both of Orlando; grandchildren Caitlyn Smith of Louisiana, Hayden & Gavin Smith both of Winter Garden and great grandson Jordan Jones of Louisiana.

Eva Sara Horvath

Eva  Sara Horvath age 89, of Clermont, FL passed away Saturday, May 17th, 2014.   Eva  was born in Szekszard, Hungary the daughter of the late Anna (Czank)  and Istvan  Gyuszu.  Formerly of North Miami and New Port Richey for 24 years, she moved to Central Florida in 2005 and was the owner of a dress shop. 

 

Eva leaves to cherish her memory,  daughter Veronika Blakely (Fred) of Ocoee; grandchildren, Laura Nickels of Kissimmee, Kristina Delaney of Virginia, Steven Blakely of Virginia, Robert Blakely of Tampa; and 11 great-grandchildren.

William Hollan "Dub" Bryant

William Hollan Bryant, 80, of Winter Garden, Florida, passed away to be with his Lord on May 14, 2014.  He was born in Canadian, Texas on May 26, 1933 to the late Bassett M. Bryant and Catherine Nelson Bryant.  He was known to all as "Dub".  Dub was married to Quintella Imogene Cearley on December 28, 1953.  They had just celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.  Dub earned a MA+ degree from Southwestern Theological Seminary and pastored the following churches: Gem Baptist Church, Canadian, Texas from 1951-56, Redwine Baptist Church, Redwine, Texas from 1956-57, Eastwood Baptist Church, Gatesville, Texas from 1957-64, First Baptist Church, Rosebud, Texas from 1964-66, Bethel Baptist Church, Alamogordo,  New Mexico from 1966-1982.  Then he took the position of Evangelism Director for the Northern Plains Convention (North and South Dakota and Montana) from 1982-99.  In 1999, Dub retired with his wife to Florida. 

 

Dub was an active member with his wife at first Baptist Church of Central Florida.  He loved the game of golf and was a great athlete in his early years.  He was a great brother, husband, father, grand-father and great grand-father and will be missed.  Dub is survived by his wife Quintella Imogene Bryant of Winter Garden; brother Bassett M. Bryant Jr. (Georgia) of Ruidoso, NM and his sister, Elizabeth Blackwell of Houston, TX; also his three children, Bradley Dub (Sue) Bryant of Lakeland, Florida; Brenda Jean (Craig) Johnson of New Rochelle, NY; Barton Hollan (Cathy) Bryant of Winter Garden, Florida; and eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Martin S. Vega

Martin S. Vega, age 48, of  Winter Garden, FL passed away Friday, May 9th, 2014.  Martin was born in Panama City, Panama,  the son of Maria (Alvarez) and the late Jose S. Vega.  He was self employed in construction.

Barry Anthony Fiandra

Barry Anthony Fiandra,  age 61 of  Windermere passed away Saturday, May 3rd, 2014 at his residence.  Barry was born in Philadelphia, PA the son of the late Helen (Wasko)  and Joseph  Fiandra.  Barry graduated from the Philadelphia  College of Textiles and Sciences in 1975 with a Bachelor's Degree in Life Science.  He then went to the University of Pennsylvania on a Fellowship in the Doctoral program in Organic Chemistry, however, soon discovered that was not his calling.  In 1982 he graduated from Temple University with his Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering - the rest is history.  He was employed as a Vice President of Transportation at AECOM for 24 years.  He was very proud of the work that his team accomplished and nothing was more important than his people.  Barry was well respected amongst his peers and clients.  Barry was a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, Floridians for Better Transportation and a member of  Holy Family Catholic Church 

 

Barry leaves to cherish his memory, wife Lori  (Swain) Fiandra of Windermere;  daughter Leishana Marie (Gary) Battaglini of Sewell NJ; two sons Carmen Umberto (Elizabeth) Fiandra, of Windermere, Dominic Barry (Catherine) Fiandra, of Winter Garden;  two brothers Joseph (Helen) Fiandra of Warrington PA, Dennis (Mary Jane) Fiandra of Devon PA; mother-in-law Barbara Swain of Sandusky OH; grandchildren Joseph Evangelista, Gary  Battaglini Jr, both of New Jersey, Ayden Fiandra of Windermere, Santino Barry Fiandra of Winter Garden; and numerous nieces and nephews of whom he loved and was very proud of.

John Baptist Garzia, Sr.

John Baptist Garzia, Sr. age 89 of Orlando, FL, passed away Saturday, May 3rd, at his residence.   He was born the third son of Sicilian immigrants, the late Josephine (Magno) and Angelo Garzia, in Detroit, Michigan on June 1, 1924.  He had two brothers, the late Samuel and Frank and one sister, Dorothy.
 

After graduation from high school at the age of 16, John began employment in the auto industry, working on the Chrysler assembly lines and later moved into the finance department.  He served in the U.S. Army Air Corp during WWII and became an aircraft mechanic. 
 

In 1946, John met his wonderful wife, Cathy.  They were married April 3, 1948 in Detroit, MI and recently celebrated their 66th wedding anniversary.  In 1962, John moved the family to New Orleans to work on Chrysler's Saturn Booster program.  After five memorable years, John embarked on a new endeavor of running his own business.  He bought the Sands Motel in Orlando which became the family's 32 room house for 11 years.  Once John sold the motel, Pizza Boy, an Italian restaurant, became his second business adventure. John was a hard-working man, instilling a strong work ethic in all four children.  John was a builder both literally and figuratively.  With his expertise in construction and woodworking, he built his family home in Fraser, MI and later a retirement home for his in-laws in Royal Oak, MI, as well as working on his parents' cottage in Lexington, MI.  He built furniture for the family and kept a woodwork shop at the Sands Motel.  Retirement was a quieter time for John as he was diagnosed with MS but stayed active and dealt with his disease with dignity and grace.  He loved his family, cars, the warm Florida sun, golf, and a good Western or police show.  John was a member of St. Andrew Catholic Church.
 

John leaves to cherish his memory wife Catherine  (Eagle) Garzia of Orlando; one  son John (Janet) Garzia, Jr., of Lake Mary; three daughters, Janet Garzia, of Richmond, VA, Jeanne (Ben) Ramsey of Wirtz, VA, Jackie (Jeff) Kinker of Mooresville, NC; ; 7 grandchildren; Todd Ramsey (Bonnie), Lynchburg, VA, Jeremy Kinker, Miami, FL, Mark Garzia (Sara), Newport News, VA, Mary Kate Glime (Chris), Lynchburg, VA, Jillian Kinker, Mooresville, NC, Alex Garzia, Gainesville, FL Jenna Kinker, Mooresville, NC and two great-grandchildren;  Adain Garzia and Harker Ramsey.  John is also survived by a sister, Dorothy Wheaton of Hazel Park, MI.
 

A viewing for family and friends will be Wednesday, May 7 from 6-8pm at Dobbs Funeral Home, 430 N. Kirkman Road, Orlando.  A funeral Mass will be said at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church, 801 N. Hastings Street, Orlando on Thursday, May 8, 10am followed by burial at Winter Garden Cemetery.   Charitable contributions may be made in John's name to the Multiple Sclerosis Society, www.nationalmssociety.org

Aria Isabela Vega

Aria Isabela Vega of Orlando, FL passed away Wednesday, April 30th, 2014 at Florida Hospital Celebration.    Aria was born in Celebration, FL on April 30, 2014,  the daughter of Andrea (DeCarlo) and Guillermo Vega.

 

She leaves to cherish her memory along with her parents; sister Sofia Vega of Orlando; paternal grandparents - Robert & Gladys Hoffman of Orlando; maternal grandparents Lyn Nickels and Joseph Rondeau both of Pennsylvania.

 

The family will be receiving friends at Peace United Methodist  Church at Hunters Creek from 4:30 until 5:00 pm, followed by the funeral service on Monday, May 5th, 2014  with Pastor LeeAnn Inman officiating.  The church is located at 13502 Town Loop Boulevard, Orlando FL 32837.

A Place Where Children Are

What kind of place would heaven be with all its streets of gold, if all the souls that dwell up there like yours and mine, were old? How strange would heaven's music sound when harps begin to ring, if children were not gathered 'round to help the angels sing. The children that god sends to us are only just a loan, he knows we need their sunshine to make the house a home. We need the inspiration of a baby's blessed smile. He doesn't say they've come to stay, just lends them for awhile. Sometimes it takes them years to do the work for which they come. Sometimes in just a day or two our Father calls them home. I like to think some souls up there bear not one sinful scar. I love to think of heaven as a place where children are.

Diana Marie Sconza Nielsen

Diana Marie Sconza Nielsen of Melbourne FL and Lake Mokoma and Montoursville in PA  died on Monday, April 14^th.  She was hospitalized at the Florida Hospital in Orlando for the last of her several bouts of congestive heart failure (which turned out to be due to undiagnosed diffuse amyloidosis).  She’d been hospitalized 14 times in the last year, initially for kidney obstructions, then for end stage heart failure.  She spent the last 2 days of her life as always, giving to others:  despite very little reserve energy, she spent Saturday with (grandson) Ethan and Sunday with (granddaughter) KK, trying to be “Grammy” one more time.  Monday morning, with nothing left, she died.
 

Despite years of debilitating Crohn’s disease, she raised three great children (Jennifer Capayas, Julie Kinzey and Chris Nielsen), managed Craig’s medical practice and kept up 3 houses.  She usually hid from everyone how lousy she so often felt and “soldiered on”.  “You look so good” everyone would say. 
 

 She’s finally found the peace she craved.  No more shortness of breath; no more pain. 
 

She was an avid reader, home decorator and shopper for anything she overheard you liked.  Her toughness and perseverance were an inspiration to so many who knew her.
 

At her bedside she kept a favorite saying: “we are not human beings living in a spiritual life; we are spiritual beings living a human life”.
 

A Memorial Service will be held at 1 pm on Saturday, May 10^th at The Community Chapel of Melbourne Beach with a luncheon to follow at David’s Steak and Seafood Restaurant (one block away).  All are welcome.
 

A Memorial service will also be held at the Beach House of her beloved Lake Mokoma in LaPorte PA on her birthday, Sunday, July 6^th at 5:30 pm; light refreshments to follow.  All are welcome.
 

 She was preceded in death by her father, Peter Sconza, sister Paula Heineman, stepfather Norman Rader, and stepsisters Deborah and Carol Rader.
 

She is survived by her mother, Shirley M. Rader, husband R. Craig Nielsen, daughters Jennifer L. Capayas, Julie Ann Kinzey and son Christian M. Nielsen as well as grandchildren Cailyn Kinzey and Ethan Capayas.

Christopher Samuel Bull

Christopher Samuel Bull age 47, of  Orlando, FL passed away Sunday, April 27th, 2014 at his residence. Christopher was born in Yeadon, PA the son of Jeannette T (Sewell) Bull and William J Bull.  He graduated from Pompano Beach High School in Pompano Beach, Florida and was employed in the restaurant industry as a server. 

His mother states that "Christopher was a great son and she is so lucky to have two, Anthony Bull too!"  Christopher was a great older brother to Anthony and the "Best and Funny Uncle" to Alex and Gabby his nieces, who he enjoyed buying them Slurpee's.  He was also fortunate to have wonderful aunts and uncles and thoughtful cousins and so very lucky to have many, many friends. 

 

Christopher is predeceased by brother Daniel Ceril Bull (2006) and leaves to cherish his memory, mother Jeannette T. Bull of Orlando;  brother Anthony William Bull of Palm Beach Gardens;  2 nieces, Alexandra and Gabriella Bull of Winter Garden, FL.

Gary Edward Mires

Gary Edward Mires,  age 71 of Casselberry, FL passed away Tuesday, April 15th, 2014 at Hospice of the Comforter in Altamonte Springs, FL.   Gary was born in Honolulu, Hawaii,  a Hungarian and 2nd generation Irish, the son of the late Virginia (O'Connor)  and William  Kovacs.  He was employed as a Master Jeweler and Pawn Broker.   Gary was the inventor and former owner of "Magic Loupe" which was a diamond and jewelry tester.  He also assisted in the Hurricane Katrina cleanup for over a year.

 

Gary served in the United States Marines and was a Vietnam combat veteran.  He accepted formally the Lord Jesus Christ as his personal savior and got baptized with his daughter Tiffany at First Baptist Church of Orlando on March 25, 2001.  He became a member thereafter.  He loved football, Nascar racing, motorcycles, boxing, cards, dancing and had a genuine passion and love for the oriental culture.  He was also an avid fan of 50's music.

 

Gary leaves to cherish his memory, wife Eloise Browne of Casselberry; daughter Tiffany Ann Mires-Choate (Joel) of Altamonte Springs; son Rex Anthony Mires of Orlando; Mother-in-law Mina Ann Theresa Brennan Wales; Step children Betty Jean Harger (Chris) of Moore Park, CA, Sabrina Marie Way (Jeremy) of Magnolia, TX;  grandson Vance Choate of Altamonte Springs, granddaughters Mickenna , Alyssa Harger of Moore Park, CA,  Madelyn and Parker Way of Magnolia , TX; niece Jennifer McQuay of Orlando.

 

Interment will be held at 11:00 am at  Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, on Tuesday, May 6, 2014 with Military Honors.  The address of the cemetery is 6502 SW 102nd Avenue, Bushnell FL 33513.  A private family reception will follow the interment.

Merced Rosado, Jr.

Merced Rosado, Jr.,  age 67, of  Orlando passed away Saturday, April 26th, at Florida Hospital Orlando.   He was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico,  the son of the late Antonia (Otero)  and Merced  Rosado.  Merced served in the U.S. Army and was employed in Law Enforcement as a Corrections Officer.

 

Merced is predeceased by his parents and brother Edwin Rosdao.  He leaves to cherish his memory, a daughter Lydia Fernandez, of Kissimmee; two sons Daniel Rosado of Orlando, David Rosado of Waltham, MA;  former spouse Martha L. Rosado of Kissimmee; 6 grandchildren, Kristalyn, Melanie Fernandez, Dante, Halle, Danielle, Samantha Rosado.  He is also survived by  sisters, Olga, Elizabeth, and Maria Rosado all of Puerto Rico, Beatriz Rosado of Massachusetts; Minerva, Mercedes, Myrna and Nilda Rosado also of Puerto Rico and Myrna Rosado of Fitsburg, MA; three brothers Victor Rosado of Massachusetts and Hector Rosado of Homestead, FL;

 

The family will be receiving friends  from 10:00 until 11:30 am at Dobbs Funeral Home, followed by the funeral service at 11:30 am on Thursday May 1, 2014.  Interment will be held at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida at 2:30 pm with military honors.

Juanita Aviles Portalatin

Juanita Aviles Portalatín, a long-time resident of Altamonte Springs, Florida, and a native of Arecibo, Puerto Rico, passed away peacefully in her sleep and joined our Heavenly Father on the early morning of Friday, April 18, 2014.  We are comforted in knowing our Beloved “Juani,” as she was endearingly called, believed in and loved our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and we look forward to seeing her again in our own Heavenly Homecoming according to God’s will.

 Juanita is survived by her:  brother Antonio Dorta; sister Carmen Iris Dorta; sons Juan, Jesus, Richard, Gilbert, and William Portalatín, daughter Cynthia M. Lamb, 11 grand- children, 13 great-grand-children, 2 great-great-grand-children, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Juan Portalatín (April 16, 1928 – September 27, 1995).  She is deeply loved and greatly missed by all who knew her.  

 

Juanita was a strong matriarch for her family. When she was younger, her home was often filled with the sounds of music, laughter, domino games, and large gatherings of family and friends enjoying delicious Caribbean food and “Café con Leche.”  She had a great love for her children, her children’s children, and the children of others as evidenced in her service as a foster parent in New York and Florida.  Some of her favorite pastimes included sewing, Bingo, fill-in puzzles, and watching her favorite action actor, Chuck Norris and the “Sabado Gigante” variety show on television. She traveled quite a bit with her husband, Juan, whom she affectionately called “Nito”, and lived in various states to include New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, the territory of Puerto Rico, and finally settling in Florida in the late 1980’s.  In her later years, she lived a quiet life in Central Florida with her youngest son, William.

Mary Elizabeth Klos

Mary Elizabeth Klos,  age 62 of Orlando, Florida passed away Tuesday, April 22nd, 2013 at her residence.  Mary was born in Lenoir, NC the daughter of Mary (Hart) Mullinax, of Gainesville, FL and the late Mendal Mullinax.  She was employed as a theme park hostess. 

 

Mary leaves to cherish her memory husband David Klos of Orlando; daughter Fay Pinto, of New Rochelle, NY; son Jerry Kloss, of Waveland, MS.  She is also survived by grandchildren, John Joseph and Matilda Elizabth Pinto both of New Rochelle, NY.

 

The Funeral Service will be at Dobbs Funeral Home Chapel, Orlando, FL, at 2:00 pm on Friday, April 25th,  with Rev. Gary Jolley officiating.

Robert E. Shaffer, Sr.

Robert E. Shaffer Sr., 83 of Windermere, FL passed away peacefully on Easter Sunday, April 20, 2014.  Bob was born on May 18, 1930 in Jersey Shore, PA to Leland and Gladys Shaffer.  He was one of 7 children.

 

Bob spent most of his adult life in service to his Country.  He served in the US Army and the Air Force for a total of 27 years during WWII, Korea, and Vietnam.  Upon his retirement, he went to work as a civilian for the US Army for almost another 20years.  He was a dedicated member of Holy Family Parish since 1987.

 

He is preceded in passing by his wife of 27 years Elizabeth, and his brothers John and Lou.  He leaves behind his current wife Wanda (Adams), his son Robert Jr., daughter in law Elizabeth, grandchildren Samantha and Robert III, as well as a step-daughter Brenda Duncan, and step-grandchildren Patrick and Danielle.  he is also survived by a brother, Sandy, and sisters Mary, Shirley, and Barbara.

 

Visitation will be from 11:00 - 12:00 followed by a Funeral Mass at 12:00 at Holy Family Catholic Church on Apopka Vineland on Friday, April 25, 2014.  A graveside service will follow at Dr. Phillips Cemetery.

James C. Dauksch, III

 

James C. Dauksch, III (Jim) passed away on April 14, 2014.  Jim was born on January 23, 1969 in Orlando, Florida.  Bearing his father's name, Jim was the third child and only son of Jay and Sylvia Dauksch.

Jim was raised and educated in Central Florida.  He was a graduate of Seabreeze High School, University of Central Florida, and Stetson Law School.  Jim began his legal profession as a prosecutor in the Office of the State Attorney in Volusia County. Discovering his heart was in finding the good in others, defending their rights, and giving them hope for their future, he opened a criminal defense law practice representing his clients with a great balance of professionalism and sympathy until his passing.

 

Jim grew up loving the water and spent his teenage years lifeguarding and surfing in Daytona Beach.  He enjoyed a very active life, running marathons, cycling, surfing, and traveling, but he found his greatest joy in his children. Jim lived his life knowing God was in control and had a plan/purpose for him. That purpose was to be a protector, provider, counselor and friend to his children.  Jace, Annie,  and Zoe were the light of his life and his true passion. For them, the depth of his love could not be measured.

 

Jim is survived by his parents, James C. Dauksch, Jr. and Sylvia Dauksch (Paul Klump); sisters, Deniece Webb (Win) and Christina Hall (Scott); his three children, James Carlton Dauksch IV, Annie True, and Zoe Kae; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

 

We will continue to seek comfort in Jim's favorite verse: " For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11.  Jim fulfilled his purpose on earth and is now following a more glorious path with our Father in heaven.

 

Jim was a loving father, caring son, wonderful brother, and a great friend.  He will always be remembered and forever missed.

 

A memorial service to celebrate Jim's life will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2014, 10:00 am at First Baptist Church of Orlando, Henry Chapel, 3000 South John Young Parkway, Orlando, Florida 32805.

Wayne Ryan Rosser

Wayne Ryan Rosser,  age 38, of  Kissimmee, FL, passed away Sunday, April 6th, 2014.  Wayne was born in Scottsdale, Arizona the son of Bonnie (Sabatelli)  and William R Rosser.  He was employed as a Judicial Processor for the Orange County Sheriffs Department.   

 

He is predeceased by Connor (2006) and leaves to cherish his memory, parents Bonnie and William Rosser both of Fort Lauderdale; wife Tina Celentano of Kissimmee; daughter Eliza Dever of West Virginia and maternal grandmother Beatrice Ratcliffe of New York.

 

The family will be receiving friends on Friday, April 11, 2014 from 1:00 until 2:00 pm at Presbyterian Church of the Lakes, followed by the funeral service at 2:00 pm with Rev. Ferdi Brits officiating.  Interment will be at Dr. Phillips Cemetery.

Daniel M. Anthony

Daniel M. Anthony, age 43 of Orlando, passed away on April 2, 2014.  Daniel was born in Corry, Pennsylvania the son of Daniel M. Anthony Sr. and Verna Messinger.  He moved to Central Florida from Pennsylvania in 1974 and was employed in construction.

 

Daniel leaves to cherish his memory mother Verna O'Donnell and step father William O'Donnell both of Orlando; brother Tony O'Donnell of Orlando; half sisters Angela Miller of Pennsylvania, Jennifer McCumber of New Jersey; and half brother Brian Douglas Anthony of Pennsylvania.

 

A graveside service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, April 11, 2014 at Lake Hill Cemetery.
